Oh congratulations Jose,

I am so happy for you!

And tomorrow as the pain killers start to fade, I'll still be happy but very empathetic to your pain.

It is a pain that you will be so happy that you went through it, this is the next big step.

Love ya,

Sally

Good luck :) I hope you get great results.

As for the pain aspect - I didn't need any pain killers after my surgery (though I was obviously out for the actual surgery). Of course, some guys really need the pills. It's all individual.

Congratulations, Jose! If Dr. Garramone is your surgeon, he's the best. My surgery with him was December 9, 2008 and my chest is healing up great. Seriously... Dr. Garramone is THE MAN!

I totally needed the pain pills but only for about 3 days. I had the DI procedure. There was a lot of tissue going bye bye (started out at the upper end of a DD), so I think that's why I hurt so much.

Make sure you get those pain pills the night BEFORE your surgery! They kicked my butt to the curb almost as soon as I woke up. They gave me some IV pain meds and a popsicle before giving me the boot, but whatever they gave me was a joke. My pain was all like "Muahhaa haa haa!!! I'm not going anywhere!". I did fine with one vicoden every 4 hours. Beware though... the pain isn't the only thing the meds stop. Drink lots of fluids and keep some laxitives handy.

Oh, and if you get this in time, the people at the surgery center will tell you that your significant other can't come with you when they hook up your IV and stuff, but if you are pushy enough they'll give in. My friend totally managed to get them to let her sit with me.

As soon as you can type, let us know how you are!!

GOOD LUCK!!

For the record, that ain't the only surgery that "prescription" works for.

Thanks guys and ladies for all your support. Everything went well, Garramone is the best. The nurses and the Dr. were awesome. I only took 3 pain pills. I am only taking antibiotics and tylenol if it hurts. The drains are working great, the drains will be removed this Thursday and I am looking forward to it. Anyway thanks so much, wow it is awesome to be flat chested. Hehe... :D
