I am looking for a foundation to cover after i shave, starting laser is taking a little longer than i wanted. either i don't have the money or the time but in the next month i should be better. the foundation i have is running out. the place i got it isnt around any more. i want something off the shelf to. but i don't want to pay through the nose either.

thanks

I love Dermablend, but I ran out. It is spendy, but the container lasts a really long time. Due to economics for me right now, I bought Covergirl 3 in 1. It is just ok and won't last nearly as long. That's my $.02 Jody

Hey there Amanda,

I use Maybelline Mineral powder. Works great and not too bad on the price I have seen mineral powders out there that was much more. I have heard that Bare Minerals is the best for what your looking for from alot of people, however you will be paying way more for it. I bought this Maybelline stuff to see if mineral powder is really worth it but didnt want to pay too much for it.

Just my thought.

I had good results with a cream foundation made by Covergirl+Olay. I used to use it before laser started working it's magic. I think it's around...$12 at Walmart and Target. I think it also has spf 15 coverage as well. Oh you can find it at CVS and Walgreens, too, which is great for when they have makeup sales.

I am also a Derma Blend girl, the strongest coverage is the Cover Creme and it lasts a full day with excellent results. Their lighter Sheer Indulgence is also good for a full 18 hours depending on the shade a bit. Both are about $30US, but last over two months after you learn to apply them lightly enough. Like so many other foundations, trans girls tend to trowel them on, but with a gentle massaging in of the foundation, it really does well.

I am derma-blend girl, too... However, there are some great tricks to cover your shadow that I have learned, over time. I have really tried to minimize my make-up but still cover, what needs to be covered... Using a good primer (vaginsil makes an outstanding primer) and applying a light coat of orange lipstick on your shadow, will minimize the amount of cover-up required.

When you start laser, you will see a huge difference in the reduction your shadow... There where a few days, about 2 weeks after my first treatment, where I had no shadow and could go without make-up...

I have a very dark beard and have problems covering it. What I find works for me is a primer then Max factor pan stick as a concealer and MAC studio fix as a foundation. The pan stick is cheap and excellent value. I mix in a bit of red lipstick to help neutralise the beard and cover with the MAC. MAC of course is more expensive but a little goes a long way.

I use essence matt mouse in Ivory and also maybelline's foundation lasts like two months but I put on a lot because I have freckles and I don't like them

Am I reading this correctly? Vagisil makes a good primer?

This is brilliant! I had heard that orange concealers (like the one MAC makes) are great for disguising that dreaded 5 o'clock shadow, but never considered orange lipstick. Thanks for the tip! :)

It seems several of you ladies use Derma Blend. I'll have to look that up, hopes in comes in my complexion. The only foundation that I have been able to find that matches my skin tone is made by Bobbi Brown, but it is very pricey, about $50! Where do I find Derma Blend girls?

I sometimes use Maybelline Mineral powder on days that i am running late, but for the most part Revlon nearly naked over Revlon photo ready concealer followed with Maybelline shine free loose powder to break the shine.Derma blend is a bit pricey, but i may try it sometime.

Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.

Happiness for me comes from being cognizant of the things that make me feel good.   Sunshine.   Pandering to my inner woman.   Knowing that some people in my life really 'know' me.   Vacations, and Eggs Benedict at an alfresco cafe.   My wife and I being telepathic.   Grandchildren.   Music.   Wine!

True.  Every trans death is not a hate crime. There is so much hate expressed by some people, that we kinda get to expect it.

Hello & welcome, giz! Your post makes me remember how excited I was to join here too. I also had queer friends at the time I joined, but any of my trans friends lived a long distance away. So most local queer friends are gay & I felt uncomfortable coming out to them bc I couldn't assume they'd understand genderqueerness. So it was a thrill to join here and immediately have access to do many wonderful, genuine, kind & thoughtful friends-to-be.   Are you saying you're concerned that if you come out to your queer friends that somehow your parents will find out?     My love, I just want to affirm that that's not a weird dysphoria. It's just dysphoria. And we definitely get it. You're in good company here!     Look forward to seeing you around here & getting to know you. I shoot for androgynous appearance as well, leaning towards masculine.   Hope you're having a splendid day!

Listening to a YouTube mix for me and this song came up and I immediately fell in love again and just want to play music with like minded musicians playing OUR music and feel the joy and fulfillment even if no one else gets it. I love to fall into the music....

Funny.....   The day-centre transportation director told me yesterday morning that I was to receive an award, my picture on the website, etc... for having won the billiards tournament (I knew better).   Later that afternoon he returns to "shake my hand" and tell me, "thanks for participating."   I could have told him that was all I would receive earlier. I'm not well liked by management.
