Hormone Blockers And Compression Shirts Questions

Hey, I'm a 15 year old FtM, and I wanted to start looking into hormone blockers, and when I'm 16 I wanna start hormones. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much Hormone blockers cost? and do they come in shots or pill form or is there a variety of options? When you start hormone blockers does it stop Menstrule? or how does it effect it if at all,how long will it take? What other effects might it have? How much does Testosterone cost? (I'm in the US) Can you give the shots to yourself? How do you get the syringes? How much do they cost? And compression shirts, I measured my chest, it's about 47 around the largest part and 43 under. How do I choose the best size? Should I get it smaller? How does the size go by? And while I'm at it, does anyone have information about STP devices? What's the best site to order it off of? I wanted to get a Man go, cause I heard it was a good kind. Also, my voice sounds high, not girly, just high. I know that MtFs can voice train, is there a way, since I can't get hormones yet, to make my voice sound a little deeper, more masculine? Any other General tips on passing?

okay, thanks for your time if you answered these! xD

You need to talk to a counselor before you do anything. After some time, when they feel you are ready they'll give you the ok to start hormones, which needs to be given to you by a doctor, after bloodwork and a physical. Once on HRT, you eventually will start to self-inject after the doctor feels that you are ready to do so. About stopping the mentrals, it varys depending on the individual. Some stop faster than others.

Hope you find more info around the forum and the web. Just keep searching. Also search youtube videos. Alot of ftms record info there.

Yes there are real live blockers that can be used on a FtM (not birthcontrol) to stop the secondary trait deveolopment and the cycle.

THEY ARE EXPENSIVE (like 800 bucks per shot expensive) and are only administerd by a physician. From what I can tell though, it may not be so easy to get approved/referred for that treatment as a young FtM. (Eeeverybody and their 8th cousin wants to keep you "fertile" "just in case")

As has been said, to start testosterone (once you're of age, and yes you have to be of age even if "its ok with your parents") you'll need to start gender therapy. How long you'll be there will depend on the therapist since all the decisions are subjective and individual. The standards "suggest" a minimum of three months under the most favorable circumstances (that is, the therapist sees no other preexisting psychological illness). Upon referal you'll see a physician (ultimately your choice of who thou you can ask the therapist for recommendations) who will do bloodwork and testing of his own. He likely will even want to talk to you himself to see how he feels about prescribing for you. His prescription can be gell, cream or injectable. Pills do exist but are typically disapproved of by most informed docs since they are known to cause severe and irrevsible liver trouble. They are even banned in a lot of states. Testosterone in that form requires metabolisation and the body cannot process the hormone well in that manner. Its not like estrogen. Injected testosterone is heard about so frequently because it seems to be one of the most "resembling natural" ways that the body can process it. Plus its less expensive than gells and creams. Some estimates of gell costs I've heard are about 400bucks. Then the messiness and possibility of transferal to other friends and family members by skin contact make some people not want to mess with it. But its a) a personal choice and b ) might be suggested by your doc.

Please don't follow up by askin more "specific" T questions as curious as you may be that involve dosaging or "how to" cuz the forum rules prohibit it :) (you might wanna read those, I'm not in the mood to see peeps posts pulled)

Binders

A million ways to bind. From tape to backbraces have been used but if you're going to (and I do so I won't tell anyone else don't do it) I'd say the "safest and healthiest) way is with a garment meant to be a binder. Several companies sell them. The most widely used are probably Underworks and TKingdom. Both companies are knowingly marketing to FtMs so thats taken into consideration when constructing the garment. The underworks products originally were intended for natal males who had gynomastia (man boobs) and wanted to get rid of that appearance. T kingdom actually was founded FOR transsexuals however, as its a company located in Asia you may or may not find that it is more effective for smaller chested people. (dunno I never tried their product.) I know that underworks has "instructions" on how to determine the correct size and so I would guess that Tkingdom does as well. Average price on a new binder is probably 30bucks.

Stp devices

http://www.lauras-playground.com/ftm_passing.htm There's a million ways to do stps/get em but since this is a link that is part of the playground I'll give this one. I get skittish with handin out links to certain providers of "private items" to minors (ya never know what you'll see on some sites  So, if you need more, I'll say 'google it".

How to use it however you can ask about (though delicately) and might be well advised to look up previous conversations that've been had in the FtM threads regardin that. However, yes, Mango is an often used company.

Other passin stuff? We could be here all night  But I'll help you get started.....

You don't believe in simple posts btw do you? ;) kidding you. (always ask what you want to know)

When you get to the part where you want to tie a tie or buy dress clothes and have questions, theres a list of good sites to help with sizing and such on my profile.

Another nice site (and you can Google it) is Hudson's FTM Resource Guide. It might be on Evan's profile, but I know Hudson. He's a nice guy. Nice informative website and it has hundreds (or seems like it anyway) of links to other good information.

Hey! Just a cool tip! Look back through the forum. I think on the last page or two we've had nice lengthy discussions about lots of things you've asked for. Even links to websites. You can even use the cool "search" button at the top of each page.

Also, try searching google for FTM. That's what I did when I first wanted info, and found more than I could ever hope for! Be careful though; learn the difference between facts and myths.

Research is the key to all knowledge.

I'm the same (estradiol, no blockers) and for me, after 4 years, T levels naturally *decreased*. I'm at E&T levels of a postmenopausal woman.   Astrid

Revealed: the super-rich fascist Maga lobbying group who is brain-washing the far-right policies of Trump and other Republicans.   Documents show the Conservative Partnership Institute is pushing its far-right agenda at events involving GOP members. A powerful, right-wing lobbying group is promoting a hard-right policy agenda and cementing ties between the Republican party and the far right at at least 21 events involving senators, members of Congress, and both junior and senior political aides. The documents offer previously unreported details of Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI). In 2021, the former congressman and Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows joined CPI. Both Meadows and Mitchell were at the center of Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Meadows was indicted in Georgia in August.    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/23/conservative-partnership-institute-republican-laws

As a side question, when you start E (I'm only doing E. no blockers), does T fight back? (Insert "Empire Strikes Back" theme music here, lol)   For awhile, things downstairs seemed very subdued. This week, not so much. Kind of like back to pre-E days. Just curious.   Did labs yesterday so that should tell me something when I get results...

Welcome Bobbi!  I hope you enjoy the forums and find them helpful.  There are lots of lovely people on here.  I'm a late in life trans woman just getting started myself.

Had a very nice day yesterday.  It was certainly worth the drive.   Something interesting to me.  We went out to a restaurant after the regular meeting.  After the meal we were getting ready to leave.  I had an hour and a half drive ahead of me, and had drunk a good bit of tea.  I'm kinda careful where I use a restroom, and this place was full of people.  I asked one of the other girls (who all live there) if I might get in trouble.  (They all know where I live)  She just looked at me and said "This is Asheville."   I realized how nice it is to live in a place where you are not always looking over your shoulder, wondering if something is going to happen. It was a good day.

Yeah.  A surprising number of us are veterans.  I was a little surprised myself when I realized it.

I joined as Charlie as i left Chuck (Charles) behind.  My wife suggested Charlize as i started to make the necessary legal changes.  I don't turn my head anymore when someone says Chuck.  It took time but when the name fit it became me.   Hugs,   Charlize

Good to read your post @Kylie.   March 2024 is not so long ago,  but a couple months can be such a difference.   What a relief.    Your responses to some of my posts the past couple years helped me to believe in success beyond obstacles.    And  helped me get through my own multiple bottom surgery situation.  Happy that you are officially done😊

Good morning everyone,    I hope you have a wonderful day today. I’m living the puppy life mass energy followed up with a nap. Just when I think he has this potty training down, he relieves himself in the laundry room. We’re slowly introducing him to the other dogs in the neighborhood, with good results so far.    Enjoy,    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
