Have two bags so far, haven't carried one yet. Still cold enough to put everything in my coat pockets.

Most of the gals i know dont carry one, they just don't carry much.

Always have the saddlebags on the bike LOL

Well yeah, makeup takes up one compartment of my purse. Pocketbook and miscellaneous in the other compartment. Lipsticks (note, plural) goes into an outside flap compartment for easy touch up access. There's a pocket on one end for the cell phone. The keys get tossed in and end up at the bottom by the time I need them again (how does that happen?!). My only caveat was that my sunglasses case is a little big because it's a hard case and I needed a purse big enough to hold it, and smaller purses weren't working in that regard so I had to upsize to a purse that could.

..and it's economical. Though I can't afford a nice size Coach purse, I get compliments on my cheapo $18 Walmart purse.

Lizzie, aside from Nail polish (of which I have a disturbing amount of bottles!) I can count the number of makeup items that I own on one hand, infact one finger! lol I own some bare minerals foundation that I actually have yet to even wear. But there is definitely room for it in my bag when I do buy some more! :)

I dunno that I would wanna lug around the HUGE purses, at that point I'd just feel like going to a dufflebag! hehe

So far I have one purse, a Rebecca Minkoff Nikki hobo. I have my eye on the lookout for a Minkoff M.A.C and a Coach Madison Sophia (with angled strap attachment).

I already had a love for shoes, then tights and now bags. Had to become a member of The Purse Forum just to be able to ogle and admire the immense mountain of purses there are.

A friend told me once, that if a purse just calls out to you. You best get it or spend a fortune on second bests that see little use.

I also spend way to much time on eBay, hoping and waiting to find my Minkoff or Coach in the perfect color and price range. Found my Nikki that way for 70$ instead the 400$ it retails for. Very happy.

It's the same thing as houses, no matter the size you'll find a way to fill it.

So far that seems to be the case, literally every single day I think of something else that would be useful to keep in my bag. I STILL haven't got around to makeup.

So I realize I may need a bigger bag!

Um, I'm just kinda getting started on opening up to my feminine side, and was wondering, if and when it comes time for me to pick a hand bag, how do I know if I should go with an over the shoulder, or over the neck, strap ?

Hi dear and welcome to Laura's. You might want to post a bit about yourself in the introduction topic area. I Have found that for me an over the shoulder bag works great 99% of the time. Everything is right at my fingertips which is so much nicer than pockets ever where. I can take the same bag and put it over my neck like a sling and push the bag on to my back if i need to. It is a vintage coach and is just so nice.

I will also ask that you read the terms and conditions found at the bottom of any page. It keeps this a safe and wonderful site for all of us. Hope to see more of you ,

Hugs,

Charlie

Thank you charlie, and I have read the rules, had plenty of time before my account was approved. Seems like mostly basic common (or uncommon as the case may be) sense and courtesy. I will keep your suggestion about the handbag in mind.

I only mentioned it in your introduction to keep you from being lectured again. it is one of the things we mods do to help avoid future conflicts. I do hope you will find the self knowledge that i did here. We are all different but can share so much.

Hugs,

Charlie

Well, it probably depends on the outfit. I was going for an every day bag and I wanted it to be small. not a fan of things hanging off my neck with the exception of my Necklace I always wear. There is a large variety out there so it's kinda scary the first time you go shopping for one. I actually asked a friend for suggestions and we went with the one I put in the picture. I was really wanting something that would go with just about anything, but if I were going to go formal for like a date or something I would probably find much fancier bag then that one!

Also welcome to Laura's :D

If and when I finally step out to socialize in public as my fem side, I will definitely NEED a bag! Ever since I was 8 I had the nick name "Walking Toolbox"! As a man, it's not a problem, I wear full fatigues, as a woman, that could prove a problem.

I know what you mean, I was so used to having pockets everywhere, even my old Leather jacket had a ton of pockets! But my new jackets pockets are also pretty much for show, a purse is the only way to go!

I'm constantly shopping for bags, but only have 3 at the moment. I'm way too picky.

I've been carrying one around for years now, even before I really decided to start transitioning. My first was technically a black messenger bag but that never fooled anyone; I used it like a purse. My most recent one is a pretty Betsy Johnson Tin Can Rose over the shoulder bag. I love it.

eBay is a great place to find good deals if you're patient and watch for obvious fakes.

Hello Kaylee and welcome to Laura's. We are happy to have you with us on the forums.

When you get the chance you might want to go to the Introduction and give us a short intro about yourself.

Oddly I never considered going on ebay, to look for stuff. I probably should do that.

I still only have the one bag though but it's been great for me so far! :D

And like Mia said, Welcome to Laura's Playground!

LOL... Yeah I've already bought my second one.. and its a bit bigger because yeah.. I ran out of room. It's amazing how many things you can think of that seem important to have with you when you actually have a bag to carry it around in. Really beats carrying a wallet around!

Getting a shoulder bag is a big step. Congrats! You must be floating! I've been eyeing bags and purses myself but have not been able to woman up enough to make the purchase.

Maybe envy will give me the courage!

Haha this is so funny with a little hindsight. I bought a new Betsey Johnson shoulder bag with roses and skulls all over it. I love it! But, it was a little smaller than the bag I had been using before... and it didn't really fit my iPad in it easily, and I had a lot of papers to carry around... so I started carrying my two Betseys together lol. Shoulder bag for the usual purse stuff, the iPad and paperwork in the cross-body bag. Hardcore! B)

As I read this one, it is only for school bathrooms.  I hope he has signed a bill to triple the number of "security monitors" on the campuses and up their pay considerably, not to mention some other costly stuff.  Only way is for every school employee, to know the birth certificate information of each student by memory which will require 3 additional months of salary for them all.  It appears the enforcement relies on parental reports obtained from their children which opens so much up.  The kids will end up ALL with wet or soiled underwear while the parents go at each other with weapons over "family honor" over false calls based on childish name calling.

I agree. This law is impractical and impossible to evenly enforce without such ridiculous measures in place. What it will do is stigmatize the trans community in Oklahoma and nothing more but ofc, that’s the only point of it.   If I was in that state and needed a restroom, there’s no chance I’d ever step foot in the men’s restroom because of some law. I know I’m not alone in that thinking. This law won’t stand the test of time.

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!
