MTF attire that works

I like stuff that is simple yet chic . Blacks , whites . I don't wear jeans . No ruffles and definately no padded shoulders ,in fact if I have gotten really good at cutting them out and removing them with minimal damage.

I should explore some blues .

I like rose or what a surprise cerise

As I have said before I like leggings and pants or capris I would like to get more blouses but I like natural fabics like linen and cotton.

Shiny satiny stuff has not worked for me unless it is on the lower half of my body .

Although I have learned to walk in 1000 mm heels I will probably avoid buying another pair with that height and go for 4 inches or less 70 mm approx .

I am so glad that the overly pointed toe has fallen out of favor recently for women .

Because I have a swollen ankle I wear boots to cover it up and have a pair of ankle boots that do the same.

It is ironic that I can walk in heels but limp in flats.

More tomorrow

Chow.

Being a bit older and a good deal over weight I avoid Jeans to prevent people like Jeff Foxworthy's brother from watching me walk away and comment to Jeff, "Looks like two blue VWs try to pass each other on a narrow road."

I only wear pants with a tunic top - the extra length lets it cover my lack of waistline.

Dresses work very well for us 'full figured' or as one small gym said, 'Fluffy Ladys' - pc for 'Fat' or 'Lardbutt'.

I tend to go for lower heels, 3 inches is about my maximum - I can walk in the higher ones just fine but I'm 6'4" tall and the standard doorway is around 6'71/2" and I don't want to have to duck!

I'm older and like to wear hose to make my legs look smoother. If I had nown that one day I would transition I would have taken much better care of my skin.

Love ya,

Sally

Christy why would you want to be someone else when you are already beautiful on your own, she is very pretty though. LOL...what is it with everybody, me sometimes too probably...just don't remember or possibly want to admit it, wanting to be somebody else? O.K. I want to be a size "o.O" and on the cover of Vouge sticking my tounge out at the convention of it all. I have to laugh at myself first...and then at fashion...would I disappear if I was a size "o.O"? Blip out of existance? Would I NEVER be able to see Walden Pond? Cerise...I like the capri/leggings look too it JUST WORKS for anybody and EVeryBody LOL...if you can't carry that, practice more for your own safety please  I do like dresses too though and if you can/will/do wear shorts theres a dress that's got your name on it...a dress is just sooo much different and NOT to be missed...personal opionion just like yours Cerise...don't settle for just anything...make it MAKE YOU look GREAT...it's a whole attitude changer...please though have SOME modesty...Call me Fashion concious if it's not in style, Kelly Ann

HAYLEY - My 8 year old grand daugher introduced me to Paramore OMG :P

LOVE IT - Hayley is such a wonder - great role model for you younger MTF- she was originally blonde, you ever see that on You tube?

OOOps - ground control to Lizzy - come back...

Me - I just realized why I HAVE 30 PAIR of blue jeans and 7 (I counted 'em) denin long sleve shirts. Thats all I wear! I now have my girl-jeans - and how fine that is! Ultra tall - boot cut - slim build, shows my assets...

I was born and reared in Texas- my roots are there.

I guess I am really a Texas woman - and ya never know when you gotta go clean the cow poop off the runnin' board of youra pick-um-up truck. You All... them dainty li'l things just gonna get ruint...

And those girly-girl high heels just git caught in the railin's of the cattle guard - so gitcha some boots ifin you wanna have that higher heel. Besides, the pointy toes are good for squishin those cuccaracha who sneak into the corner.

Oh, Lizzy....getting those cockroaches in the corner...lol

I really haven't done shoes yet..next on my list..

No dresses...I like skirts and have a GROWING collection and I'm learning to match tops so I don't look like an idiot!

I never realized there was SO much to learn!

I really love the big, long gypsy type skirts, but, I have trouble when I stand up and step on it and bring myself crashing to the floor...I've got to work on that..not very lady like! And peasant girl tops and big hoop ear rings. I'm re-living my hippie days, except this time I'll be the right person in the right clothes! :P

AHhhh..an old lady growing flowers.....

Happy Donna Jean

I found my personal style was rather easy to determine, once I really started thinking of myself as a boy. (For one thing, I'm admitting that I'm a boy with a personal style)

Mine is sort of emo/punk. I like hard rock and the clothes that go along with it... I really like the color black, a carry-over from my days in denial. (I thought I was a nonconformist instead of a transsexual; I wore black ALL the time) But I'm also small and effeminate. I like the color purple. I like lots of colors, actually. I have "emo hair," the bangs hang in front of my face, too.

But, yeah, perfect outfit for me: Black formal guy's shirt with a purple or dark (but bright) blue tie. Dude. (Oh, yeah, and pants, too. :P) For casual, I wear T-shirts, band or movie shirts, or those thermal guy's long sleeved shirts when it's cold, sometimes with a vest and always with jeans and black converse high-tops. Oh, and I have this preppy sweater that I've found straight girls really dig. ;) (It's from Aeropostale, I think, which is one of those cool kids stores I used to avoid like the plague, but it has grey and burgundy horizontal stripes, apparently it makes me look like I belong in Harry Potter, which is awesome because I LOVE Harry Potter!)

I like wearing big, oversized stuff, another leftover from when I was in denial, I suppose, big sweatshirts and jackets make me feel safe, but also because I like emphasizing how tiny and skinny I am sometimes. :P

Charlie Rose, I get everything, except I still don't know what emo means. I asked my 25 yr old daughter and she didin't know either. Grandkids are too young so help this old lady out. Thanks...........

I'm pretty old, but maybe a bit more with it. I believe that the emo look is based on the hair style and attire of a comedian who goes by the single name - Emo (actually his hair style is basically a tribute to the great Moe Howard) - I have seen him perform and Androgyne comes to mind.

If I am wrong, one of you young whippersnappers can come in and correct the old girl.

Love ya,

Sally

Mia: Does this help?

My.Chemical.Romance-band-2004.jpg

It's My Chemical Romance, an emo band. Long bangs, dyed black and hanging in front of your face, tight pants, nerdy glasses, sort of a nerdy/angsty version of goth. That's emo, the fashion, at least. It was a genre of music first. (Look up My Chemical Romance's "I'm not Okay" for an example of what that music is.) Basically. (If I got one of my friends to explain it to you he could go into the history and everything for hours, but that's what it is, basically.) It's also associated with angst/self-harm and being gay or bi, as far as the people who wear emo clothing and listen to emo music go.

Like, if someone had a scratch on their arm by their wrist, a friend might say, "What happened? Have you gone emo?" or something like that.

I personally like some of the music, not all of it, definitely like the style, and I guess I fit into the stereotype, since I'm bi and I used to cut myself. (Not anymore, though)

Thanks Charlie Rose.

I learned about an entire new genre today. These are the bits of knowledge that keep the 60's generation feeling young. Thanks again I'll be in L.A. visiting my musicain son in Feb. and when I bring up EMO,he'll go what ! How do you know about that.? By the way he's a percussionist and doing great, hasn't quit his day job ,but he's in two bands.....Proud of him Thanks again...Mia.

This is how I am having my hair done on Feb 20th :D (had to make a 5 hour appointment for this one ;p) and it needs to grow just a tiny tiny bit more but ya this is the goal:

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll137/S...97313_small.jpg

Lot's changed since Ohio...no more country girl ;p lol. Style varies. All black for school, but with some creativity, and a 90's grunge flashback, it's not too hard to come up with something cute. Through the day color color color, and layers. Kind of a neo-grunge/hippy mix...weird I know but I'm trying to rock it :D. Night it's usually either a dress with layers ie. thin long sleeve, or if it's just to a club (for us...bar with rock band lol) just a jean skirt, some leggings, tee shirt, and maybe a hoodie.

Sadly, with my new income from the salon + my wife working + music/gig money + being around fashion 40+hrs a week my wife and I are starting to take a strong interest Designer names....lol...and only being two hours from LA doesn't help. We've struggled for rent the last few months..but oh have we looked good doing it lol ;p...don't buy designer it's like heroin lol

I like lolita fashion dresses and clothes that approaches the style in shape or looks. I don't like tacky clothes. Though I wear a children's watch bought for 5$ in a teenage girl shop (all pink and glitters too).

I prefer skirts and dresses to pants. If pants, only jeans usually (I hate formal pants). I rarely wear blouses unless wearing a jumper dress (and I only got one of those, and it's a sundress meant to be worn as is). I tend to wear the dress itself (one-piece), a t-shirt, a longed sleeved shirt, a camis, or much rarer, an actual tank top.

I have 3 lolita fashion dresses, and my sundress approaches the style (but is less frilly). I'm planning on buying more, but probably not brand names, those cost too much.

while i am still learning the ins and outs of personal style, i would love to get to a point in my life where i would never have to wear pants again. if i could get away with skirts, dresses and pantyhose every day, i would do so gladly!

Too cool, Misa~ I'm a big DN fan, too. I look more like Raito but I cosplay L ffffff. o^o My favorite character would have to be Mikami, he's just so messed up XD poor Teru. I like his clothes, too... *strokes chin dramatically*

Did I already answer this thread?

I will again because... uh, I c-can ffff

I LIKE TO WEAR LABCOATS AND TIES

And suits and chains and pocketwatches and, er; glasses. oh hoh hoh many glasses. If I had the money/talent, I would be steampunk all the way (1800's high fashion mixed with sci-fi elements).

But I can't afford anything really sweet. And in the Texan summer, a labcoat leads to heatstroke.

I'm living in Taiwan. There's a heavy Japanese influence on the fashion.

Lots of shiney shiney glittering things.

Dolman sleeve tops over tank tops or short sleeves are popular, as are light vests and light scarves over short sleeves or tank tops... and maybe a shiney hip belt too... layers over layers over layers, LOL... just cloth everywhere. Maybe shiney sparkley tights under it all....

None of it matches. Lots of 1980s influence.

I like the traditional flowing skirts better, and a plainer top, even a tshirt.... though I just started layering the dolman sleeve stuff too... it certainly flatters my shoulders. I go as far as daisy dukes and tights, not the extreme bootie shorts though. And due to the tropical sun on my milky white skin, I wear a big floppy beach hat everywhere I go. It also has the benefit of making my head and shoulders look smaller.

I'd pierce my nose but work dress code forbids it. I just learned that I can wear earrings to work though.

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3
    • MaeBe
That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Congratulations! and Happy Trans Birthday @LittleSam! That is such a BIG milestone.  I can still remember walking out of my clinic with my first HRT presciption.  I was on Cloud-9.  Wishing you all the best in the start of your new Journey!

    • MaeBe
Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

and just fi sweeten it..I'm catholic n he hasn't been for years..he's evangelical..whatever that is

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.

When I first started figuring things out, I got a lot more euphoria. Every time a friend would use he/they pronouns for me, I'd get this bubbly feeling, and seeing myself look masculine made me really happy. Dysphoric state felt more normal, so I guess I noticed the pain it caused me less.   Now, it's more just that my pronouns and such things feel natural, and dysphoria is a lot stronger -- I know what's natural, so experiencing the opposite is more jarring than everything. The problem is, most of my natural experiences are from friends, and I rarely get properly gendered by strangers, much less by my family. I've found myself unable to bind in months due to aches, colds,, and not wanting to risk damage.    It partially makes me want to go back to the beginning of my journey, because at least then I got full euphoria. I'm pretty sure it'll be like this until I medically transition, or at the very least get top surgery (you know all those trans dudes online with tiny chests? Not me, unfortunately). It's a bit depressing, but at least I know that, eventually, there's a way out of this.
    • RaineOnYourParade
Major mood, right here ^^^    I've listened to Lumineers to a long time (a major portion of it by osmosis via my mom), so that is almost painfully relatable
    • RaineOnYourParade
As for getting a button-up/formal pants suit, you can try to talk to her more -- Cis women in tuxes have worn tuxes in recent years, after all, (for example, Zendaya) so it can still be a relatively safe topic. For jumpsuits, I'd recommend going with a simple one with a blazer, if you can -- this'll make it look overall more masculine. There's a lot of good brands, but going for one without a lot of extra glitz on it will make it look less feminine under a blazer. I don't know many specific brands though since I usually just get my stuff from chain stores, sorry :<   When it comes to your hair, if you can't cut it, you can look up tutorials on fluffing it up instead. If you can pull it off, it can look a lot shorter and more androgynous instead!
