The Pharmacist And Me

Went to the local Target to have my prescription filled. "That it'll be about a ten minute wait", the pharmacist said.

O.K. head over to the women's section and browse for awhile. Find these incredible aqua colored tights, originally $9.95 reduced to $1.45. Pick them out and go up to the pharmacist and hand him the tights expecting to pay for them along with the prescription.

Now for the kicker, he says"Are those tights for you?"

Well that through me for a loop. Then he said"The times they are a changing."

I said "Don't knock it unless you've tried it."

He kinda backed off after that and shook his head.

I thought, "Where is this guy coming from." But the amazing thing is, I didn't back off and use the wife excuse, or a million other stammering ahh ahh ahs. B) Mia.

Well you go girl!

Standing your ground, and being proud, congratulations.

Didn't that make you feel good? Just being out and about as yourself is so rewarding.

Love ya,

Sally

Yeah it's about time I resolved that little part of my life. The fact is the Pharmacist is not a stranger or an unknown clerk, I deal with him every month. So bringing those tigthts to the register, I knew that I was outing myself ,and was prepared for any reaction. Thougth he would be passive, but when he was reactive, I stepped in and filled the breach.

Another great comeback would be. "Hey, haven't you seen Mel Brooks movie."Men in Tight's" and then do the Donna Jean,,wink.

Hi,

some tights producere have male tights in the product list. Wolford make a poll and find out that 60% off all tights they are selling are used by men. So it is totally normal to wear thights also for men.

That is sooo funny Mia. I had a bunch of lingere once in a checkout line (I mean a BUNCH LOL) laying on the conveyor belt and the lady behind me said something like what a lot of pretty things...your girlfriend is very lucky. I started giggling and told her it was for me and she started giggling too...Seriously it is a big world out there and taken much better with a smile and a giggle. I might have given him a raspberries, it seems to really exasperate those types. :P BBBbbbRRRRTTT, Kelly Ann

Hi Mia,

I read your post and smiled, I was encouraged to feel more comfortable with the world that we are living in.

I am going to have to remember that when I go out to get something for myself, anything.

That was a confidence booster, thanks

That's a cool story!

I'm about to go to the pharmacy to get my T refill. It's taking me literally hours to work up the courage. When I got it filled for the first time the person behind the counter gave me this "Is that for you?" look. I shouldn't feel shy or bad, but I do. I'm already so insecure about my manhood. It doesn't take much to damage my confidence.

StrandedOutThere. Well you just go to the pharmacist and be the same person you are on these forums. You have confidence, without swagger and you have intelligence which always is a positve trait. Remember you're the one in charge and not the pharmacist.. We're in your corner. We're sitting on your shoulder..................Mia.

Hi,

when I start buying female things I also was worried about getting question if this is for me. I found a good way. I am not the bad person. The person behind the counter is the bad person because he/she is selling this things to me and make money with it. So I am not the pervet they are ;-) It sounds strange but it help me to stay cool.

Good for you, Mia. I have found that if I accept myself and my buying habits as perfectly normal then the salespeople tend to do the same. I was in VS a couple weeks ago to see about trying a new kind of bra and a salesgirl asked if she could help me. I told her I was after a certain bra and it was for me and could she help me with the fit? Before I knew it I had three of them helping me  I had a great time, just one of the girls. Afterwards she gave me little folder titled 'Your Perfect Fit' and she had written in my size and style and her name on it, too.

Things like that can just make our day, can't they?

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

No, they are the only provider of services I need an my area. 😑

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.
    • RaineOnYourParade
This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Anyone play war and order on their phones?
    • violet r
I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!
