GLAAD Will Focus On TG Issues

This is really good news, and a very good interview. I am a bit confused, as the spokesperson says that the acronym "GLAAD" no longer stands for Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, but that it won't change the acronym, either. :dunno: Anyway, its the message that counts, not the name. Or the acronym.

PFLAG does the same thing. The are doing a lot of trans work and education but still call it PFLAG. I guess I personally don't have much of an issue with it as long as they are getting the work done.

PFLAG of Bouler Colorado has a great video out on what is transgender. I am getting a copy for our HR department.

This was met with a bit of skepticism in places I visit.

It doesn't hurt to be a gay man in GLAADs eyes. Their memory is pretty short. Your show can be singled out by GLAAD for negative language towards TGs and the same year win outstanding series in it's category. You'd think one would prevent the other?

Maybe positive moves towards the TG community means they won't give their awards to people with a history of anti-TG work?

I'm guessing that GLTAAD is difficult to pronounce.
