I suppose I cheated and posted elsewhere without making a thread here first, naughty me. I'm Zabrak's SO, and um, ridiculously in love with him and excessively involved in everything he does, so here I am, at the wonderful forum he told me he's found! There is such a diverse group of people here that it's a little overwhelming to try and get a sense of this place as a whole, but what I've seen suggests it's quite friendly and welcoming, and that's all I need :)

I'm slightly older than Zabrak, slightly taller and uh, slightly heavier. *cough* We've been together for at least a year and a half (hard to remember, time flies!) and things are good. It's a bit late though so I'll cut this short, here.

Oh and here's a face to match to the name

Hi, Stuv.

Nice to have you here!

Thanks for putting a face to a name and thanks for introducing yourself! I'm sure you have an idea what's it's like around here, so make your self at home...

It's early so some coco and maybe some banana nut bread with real butter would be nice..

You might know that we are a huge fan of Zabrak around here and you being the "Significant One" makes it that much cooler!

Welcome to the Playground, Hon...Nice to have you :)

Hello Stuv,

Nice to meet you and see you.

Welcome to the forums, feel free to wander around and read evrything, ask questions and post comments.

I don't have to tell you what a special young man Zabrak is, you already know.

He is a favorite here in the forums and even helps me with computer problems from time to time.

Not bad, reaching from Canada to Texas! :D

Glad to have you here.

Love ya,

Sally

Zabrak is one a my fav-or-ite posters. WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME :D:D:D

I am sure you have been introduced over-the-shouder-wise to Laura's through Zabrak. Now feel free to ask around, make some topics happen - S.O. s are needed here to give everyone a full 360 degree view about the gender dysphoric community. You can also teach us, ya know.

Great to meet ya :P

Doing good, thank you for the snacks, and the warm welcome :) Giving perspective, making topics happen, etc? A little scary for the moment, but we'll see what happens. And he is quite special, isn't he? :3

I'm bi, and rather queer besides - I feel it's helped a great deal in our relationship. I've also got what seems to me, at least, to be an uncommon perspective on attraction - which extends to friendship, love, favorite foods, fashion, music and games. It's backwards, a bit - experience, and wait until something speaks to you. It leaves me alone quite quickly, which reduces external influence, which pushes me farther towards what I really like!

Stuv - hey guy! you are an S.O. - and that's the biggie - we don't really know or care what our sexual orientation is here - we worry about GENDER - all the time , gender, gender, gender. And it consumes us - me? I am transsexual, MTF and I swear I will have my female anatomy someday and use it as much as I feel I need to. I was assigned male at birth, married three times, had three children. When I am female sexually, and still married, am I in a lesbian relationship? If I prefer men, and am female sexually, am I suddenly a heterosexual again? Rules don't apply anymore.

And you need to check out topics on the GLBT and how everyone here thinks gays, lesbians and bi's just don"t get us! I would like to hear from you on that! I outed to my two gay friends - they were totally bewildered - same as society in general,

So ya see dear - we NEED you here - PM me if you want, when you get your 5 plus posts = we can discuss it. We do see lesbian partners here of FTMs and they are having a terrible time accepting that their partner wants to be male... its really an interesting place, this Laura's

Welcome again

Hey Zabrak, with Stuv on the forums too you won't be able to say all of those horrible things about him any more. :o

Isn't it a mother's sworn duty to embarass her son anywhere at any time and as often as possible? I'm sure I read that in the hand book.

Just doing my job,

What am I supposed to do? I don't have any baby pictures to pull out and show you in the bathtub or anything - why is it when a mother pulls out a picture of her son wearing nothing but a holster and waving a cap pistol, it isn't child pornography? Just embarassing.

Stuv, Zabrak is really a great guy, I just have to tease him sometimes.

I really am glad that you are here, it shows that you do care and want to understand and that is so inmportant.

Love ya,

Sally

Goodness gracious me. Obviously I can't speak for anyone but myself (I'm not a licensed interpreter, hardeharhar), but Elizabeth if I had to guess, it might be a lack of solidarity among genderqueers, i.e. "I'm not as weird as co is, won't you please accept me, normative society?"

There's that whole horrible "slippery slope" garbage about homosexuality -> bisexuality -> polysexuality -> polygamy / bigamy -> bestiality -> dogs and cats, living together, mass chaos! -> armageddon, so who knows. People find ways to hate, seem to need to hate, to be able to love. Common enemies uniting disparate groups across boundaries, bla bla bla.

I'd be glad to have a chat but I can't guarantee I'll go searching for arguments all the time - it can get tiring! And like I said, being bi made "the talk" a lot easier than it would be for some couples; Zabrak kept asking me if I was sure it was ok and that I really did still love him :)

@Evan Funny how English works, isn't it? I def want to be self-aware, but self-conscious? Totally overrated. Hooray for funning ;]

@Sally Indeed it is! Not to be a total buzzkill, but that's one of the reasons I avoid my mother like AIDS now (that is, at all times except in controlled environments where I know there's no danger to either of us).

@Zabrak *finds you* *tackles* shhh not in public dear. Anyways I don't doubt I've had worse said about me before, and well I imagine what you said was true. We can have that discussion again, in public, if you want to let Laura's weigh in on it..

Yep. Gotta post more frequently, or they'll all be laundrylists like this one.

Hi Stuv...has Zabrak talked you into getting an Ironman outfit yet? If so keep an out out for missing small appliances like toasters and such and a change in weight on the suit. We've come to understand he's very handy with tools and quite clever with a soldering iron :D Welcome to the Forums, Kelly Ann

Mothers don't have to embarass their children in public, but some do take a great deal of pleasure from it. Mine didn't, but her sister sure did - I could not count the number of pictures she carried around of my two cousins naked. The only thing that saved those girls was that she was such a bad photographer anywhere from 1/3 to 3/4 of the heads were cut off in each photo - the could say it wasn't them.

We are all so glad that you are here, as you may have noticed Zabrak has made a lot of friends here, I hope you will too.

Love ya,

Sally

Stuv,

Have you been touring the forums? Gathering information and finding out why Zabrak likes it here? If you ever figure out what makes him tick let us know!

Spend a little time in the SO forum and find out a little bit more about what to expect from him and a bit more about yourself as well.

Love ya,

Sally

For that part, be glad you live in MS and not in CA or some other "paradise."    Unfortunately, right now in the USA it is about choices.  Choose to live in a mostly free state that doesn't want my gender to exist, or choose to live in a leftist place that accepts my gender but not my family or my faith, or how I want to live my life or the stuff I own.   As for the lawsuits... hiring a lawyer costs money.  And a "no fees unless you win" attorney probably won't take a case like this, as it is difficult to get money from folks who often don't have anything.  As they say, "it is hard to get blood from a turnip."

There's a couple of things.  First, since so many LGBTQ+ folks often vote Democrat, it is simply assumed that "LGBTQ = Democrat."  And to many, Democrat = enemy.  The fact that some of us don't vote for Democrats comes as a surprise to many.  You wouldn't believe how many different times I have had to explain how I vote, that I don't like Biden, etc...   And then, there's the flamboyant, over-the-top appearance and behavior of some.  When average folks see strange dress, wild colors, and the occasional provocative behavior in the news, they assume that it is the norm and that all LGBTQ+ folks are like that.  To them, "LGBTQ = weird."    I think that @Abigail Genevieve is right, part of it is lousy marketing.  And that will take a ton of undoing, because it has been going on for years.

Personally, I despise the antics of the "swing" states. Double-minded and unstable, shifting every time the wind blows.  OK, so the Lt Governor of Georgia doesn't like Trump.  Small potatoes.... given the 2020 results, nobody counts on Georgia anyways.

Its midnight here...so, technically morning   I had a really weird evening, and learned something new about politics.  My sister, who is running for public office as our township constable, received a "present" today, left on the hood of her patrol car.  An axe!  Wrapped in a bundle of sticks (dowels?).  The sheriff received one also, and a couple other candidates.  Now, my first thought was it was meant as a threat, and I was freaked out when she told me.  But she wisely identified it as political criticism:   During the 2020 election, a small dissident minority objected to our sheriff, and labeled him "Mussolini."  Apparently the symbol of the F@scist Party came from ancient Rome.  An axe, circled with rods, and the whole bundle was called "fasces" and represented the authority of the state.  Roman officials would have them symbolically carried ahead of them through the city on parade.  Other nations used it too, including the USA.  But since the 1920s, it is mostly associated with a certain political party.  Either I was never taught this in high school, or I didn't notice it.    So, it appears that this election season will have some interesting aspects.  And I have been asked to put gold spray paint on an axe, to make it like a trophy.

Welcome @Vivelacors!  For myself and many others here it is a similar theme.  But, I can assure it's never too late.  I hope that you will discover that as you explore and connect with more of us on the Forum.    You've already taken the most important first step ... Self-Affirmation.  I am wishing you the best in continuing this process. Deep breaths ... One step at a time

I can remember as a teenager being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and living in the bible belt. It was always a little hard-I think religion is just tricky anyway.    I was referred to a couple of ladies at church by my mum who gave me very good advice.  One has known those who are are trans- and how they approched it.    The other has two people in their life who identify differently. They also gave other ideas to assist me.     I do like ideas though.

If I am leaving the house I will almost always do makeup.  Not over-the-top but enough to feminize my face (eye shadow, mascara), lipstick, and a light cover of a concealer and foundation. I found my favorite lipsticks are Maybelline.  But the concealer/foundation I 'discovered' in Neutrogena Hydro Boost - Hyaluronic Acid based.  For 'older' gals like me I find it moisturizes and doesn't dry into those annoying fine lines (I have enough of those already).    Hopefully, after facial hair removal I might not feel the need as much.

I think it just comes down to a lot of people not knowing anything about the lgbtq+ community besides what reactionaries online and on TV say. In my experience, people who have a lot more day-to-day contact with gay and trans people, have lgbtq+ friends or family, coworkers, etc. are a lot more accepting because they know an lgbtq+ person, and know that we aren't anything like what the people on TV say we are.

Actually the bill seems to be so thoroughly confusing that I doubt that enforcement is even possible.  It could however incite vigilante style actions.  A false accusation against a "looks challenged" Cis woman is very likely to happen early on.  So what will happen in the case of those situations?  I have a script in mind over the sad average looking daughter of one of the legislators getting tangled into one of those situations.  I don't know whether it would be a comedy or a tragedy at the minute.
