Passing when one has thunder thighs?

The forums I've seen usually mention binding but I've never really seen one that focuses on thighs.

I am 18 and pre-T. The earliest I can start on hormones is when I start college, which will be next year.

I have unfortunately inherited a pear-shaped body along with huge thighs from my mother. My upper body is thin and from the waist up I can pass as a boy in middle school. But once people look at me from the hips down they immediately think I'm female.

No matter how much I diet (healthily, no starving) and exercise, I just cannot lose any thigh fat.

It doesn't help that I have short legs and a big donkey too.

My legs look like those of the girl on the left of this picture http://a4.ec-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/133/e3621f879f294354b5ca1405f4b934f3/l.jpg

I'm wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong or if my body just has too much estrogen to handle.

I do know that my body type, gynaeoid, produces the most estrogen.

Are there any clothes I can wear that will help mask the appearance of my legs?

Is there a specific diet and exercise that actually works for individuals such as myself?

Or am I doomed until I can go on T?

Actually Under Armour makes compression pants for athletes that will help some and then I'd say pants that are not too baggy because that tends to actually enlarge shape unless they are straight legs-and then loose shirts on top. Lots of guys wear shirts a size or two larger and it balances the bottom and makes you look more guy proportioned. I have a lot of extra skin from a 200 lb weight loss and the compression pants helped till it tightened up some. Think they have then in both heat and cold gear though they actually function the same. Ebay is the cheapest place to find them unless you find some on clearance for spring

I had a bubble backside and thunder thighs to the max and never thought anything would change it. Even fit and thin when I was younger I had an hourglass figure so to some extent you are stuck with just minimizing it for now. But the good news is that when you can start T the difference is amazing. I have a flat bottom now and straight legs. Finally feels right. Also I'd say exercise the upper body and build muscle to help off set the hips too would help. I use a resistance tube along with push-ups and have found it really changed my shape as well.

If you look around there are pear shaped guys too.But it can be a real challenge for us pre-T because of our voices and smooth rounded skin and such which makes it hard for us to be seen as male pre-T. One thing alone like shape won't peg you as female but everything together does unfortunately.

I feel you about that. There are some cargo shorts and cargo pants that actually make my thighs look not-so-thundery.

I have exercises that help you with thigh fat...

If you don't mind me PMing you, I can send you step-by-step on how to do the exercises, and some pictures if I can find them. :) I've lost a lot of fat doing these exercises, and I hope they can help you, too.

Or, I can just do a separate post. It's just going to take a while because I can't type them from memory, I'd have to do them first to make sure I get every detail.

I can't do the exercises right now, but I will remind myself to type them.

Same problem here. I've lost some weight recently, but it seems like my thighs stay about the same. Plus I'm only 5'3", so passing is an extremely onerous, burdensome task. I've learned that wearing "baggy" skinny jeans helps, and guys skinny jeans seem to do the trick since I have to buy a few sizes up, thanks to my behemoth hipbones. The more you can offset the shape of your legs, such as adding balance throughout the pant leg, it does help disguise curves to an extent. I don't say buy normal, straight-legged jeans because typically once I find a size that fits my hips/butt, there's way too much material left over and I end up looking like I walked out from the ghetto.

If only there were a binder for thighs.... not really.

Please share these superb exercises.

I think JJ's post cannot be underestimated, testosterone will help a lot. The fat distribution for me was unbelievable. No weight loss and all of a sudden my pants were loose around my waist and thighs, but my gut was bigger. Totally crazy.

Some good advice here, but remember, men come in all sorts of packages too and short round dudes are out there.

having looked at the picture you put up Kail, that girl doesnt look to me like she has "thunder thighs" - genes will out im afraid, but as has been said, T does change your shape somewhat so you may find that helps in time. Diet of course changes a body, substituting white carbs for wholemeal helps a lot, for health reasons we swapped our white bread, pasta, rice etc for brown. We eat less potato too and more sweet potato, ive always been slim but since T have got a middle aged mans stomach, but just these changes have lost me a little weight. Ive got the opposite problem, i have quite thin legs & hips, so trousers often look like jodphurs on me, sticking out at the sides so i have to wear them tight. Good luck with it, im sure you will get there.............

straight leg or relaxed jeans. t shirts that aren't form fitting (some guys shirts kinda cling and some that just hang down making you look square, go for the ones that just hang down). bulk up your shoulder muscles maybe.

If it makes you feel any better, there's a cis guy in my school with HUGE hips and thighs.

Oh my goodness, I feel bad that I haven't come back in FOREVER. I've been busy in real life and now I"m back, I've done the exercises and have taken note on how to do them!

Horse Riding Stance

This one is fairly simple, but really hard.

Imagine you're riding a horse.

You have to have perfect posture and body alignment.

Keep your back straight (ears aligned to shoulders, shoulders aligned to hips.)

http://www.shaolin.org/images-3/general-5/horse-stance04.jpg

This is basically what it looks like, it's good for every part of your legs, and even your lower back! Spread wide and sit low.

Do this for 15 deep breaths (in for 3 seconds, hold for 3 seconds, out for 3 seconds) for once a day for 100 days. Every week, add an extra deep breath. (Insane, but it gets easy!)

The Electric Chair

It is recommended that you get used to Horse Riding Stance and the Electric Chair (or the invisible chair) before doing Shaolin Squats. It makes things much easier.

Get your back against the wall, keep your back straight, do not lean forward as you slide down the wall until you are in a sitting position.

hold out your arms straight in front of you.

Hold this position for 10 deep breaths.

You will shake like crazy after a while, but if you breathe deeply (in through your nose, out through your mouth) the shaking won't set in so quickly. Do this 1 time a day for 100 days.

Shaolin Squats

This one is somewhat self explanatory. Squat down low, as low as you can,

Feet shoulder width apart, squat as low as you can with your feet firmly planted to the ground.

Do not get up on your toes, your feet must be flat on the ground.

Do this once a day for 5 deep breaths.

Then do it with one leg outstretched, keep your weight balanced in the center. This is called "Pu bu"

You can shift your weight to move your leg.

Reach for your ankles and hold for 5 deep breaths.

You should look something like this in "Pu bu" position

http://farm1.staticflickr.com/70/165720047_05878ff722_z.jpg?zz=1

Repeat this on the other side. Do this once a day for 100 days.

This is really, really good for your thighs. After these exercises, your thighs will be SCREAMING.

So let's work out another part of the thigh. :D

Leg lifts!

Great for the thighs, lower back AND the abs!

Lay flat on the ground, lift your feet up so you are making an L shape, and lower your feet until they are 6-8 inches off the ground (if you are short, 6 inches, if you are tall, 8 inches)

There are a few more, I don't remember them all at the moment because these are the 3 things that I am more accustomed to doing. Once I get back into doing Tai Chi, I will also post position-holds that target your thighs.

Happy fat burning!

I am going to tell you something that I usually tell the girls but it does apply to guys as well - a lack of confidence is the biggest tell for us - people spot insecurity faster than large hips and thighs.

So how do you learn to be confident while you are so concerned about your shape and waiting for the exercises to do their thing and starting T?

Simple - go to Walmart and watch the guys - if you do not see every shape a human can develop (and a few that are decidedly Extraterrestrial) then you either were not paying attention or your Walmart is the exception.

People are really a lot like snowflakes - over 7 billion of us and no two are exactly the same - similar but never exact copies even though some of us try to look like or even be someone else we are still different.

Embrace the real you - do what you need to do to feel good about yourself and go boldly where you have never gone before!

Love ya,

Sally

I resisted the true geek urge to add, "Make it so." (well almost resisted ;) )

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

No, they are the only provider of services I need an my area. 😑

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Anyone play war and order on their phones?
    • violet r
I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.
