Do You Go Bare Legged In The Summer

I have to say I never go without tights in the summer months. I love the look and feel of tights so much I couldn't dress without them. I have done it occasionally but wearing tights is such an important part of dressing as a girl to me. I usually dress as Roberta at night anyway and find it a bit chilly. I wear a lot of fifteen denier tights in natural and nude, they feel comfy. Interested to know what you girls think,

I have to wear jeans or pants to work, but when I go running or out and about it's shorts. Gotta show off these long legs! Pretty white right now, like Megan says, but maybe they'll get a little color eventually :)

Much as I love my tights and hold-ups, the warmth of summer (excuse me while I laugh about any warmth in a British Summer) means I leave off the leg wear. I under-dress at work all through the winter but the warmer summer is too much for that. But at home, hot days are a great time for light, floaty skirts and airy blouses! In themselves they are a delight to wear. I have a few really light, long skirts and they are just great in the sun! How do girls feel about that?

Hi Hon,

You know, I used to wear pantyhose a lot years ago, but I no longer wear them. Clean shaven smooth bare legs is the only way I go :)

That is what makes me feel good. Pantyhose used to make me feel good. What makes you feel good is what is important.

For me its bare legs all summer long unless its for something formal then will wear pantyhose/tights. Sumer /warm months its shorts, skorts, skirts, carpi/aka clam diggers and sometimes a dress or cover up for me. While my mug( face) is revolting my legs are awesome as I have been told by many. So since thats all I have to work with darn it I am gonna show them off.

As much as I love wearing tights I don't think I would wear them in the workplace if I was a gentetic girl, unless I was a nurse I think I would be comfy in black tights whatever the weather. If I was in an office environment though I think I would settle for trousers sandals and painted toe nails.

I,m with Eve on this one .... I,m not a great lover of wearing tights (sorry Roberta)...though I love my knee highs (must be my age)...but I to love to wear floaty skirts and dresses in the Summer...though I will still wear my knee highs or Stockings depending on the the length of the skirt and the warmth of the temperature...in Britain sufficient warmth to go without either really is a rare event

Hose is a bit uncomfortable here in Florida during the summer yet I do sometimes when I know I'll be in AC contolled areas.

Bare legs rule white or not. i must admit however to occasional use of a bronzing tanning lotion. As a fair girl i need a little help to stop from looking like i'm sick but i love a light skirt and bare all the way up. Breezes are great!

Often go bare legged in the summer. I wear Capri pants or skirts. So my legs are white ;) . Many real life females seem to be the same, very few have tanned legs. I tried some tan spray on and the product rubbed off on the edge of my Capri pants. Left white streaks on my legs near the end of the pant cuff. Will wear hose with a dress if going out to support group meetings or restaurants.

Have to second what Wendae said. Here in FL it's just too hot. Wore a pair the other day under my girl jeans for a friends daughters graduation and it was almost too much even with most of the day being spent in the A/C.. now If i could just shave my legs and not have them get all bumpy and irritated i'd be much happier about running around in shorts in the summer months (March thru January in the TB area for those not familiar) :D

I don't have this issue very much when I shave my legs which I do now regularly, I've found that exfoliating in the shower, and keeping my legs moisturized does help prevent this. :)

Shorts and Capri's mostly when I'm not at work during the day and Jeans at work because it is the requirement. I usually wear jeans or Capri's in the evenings when it gets cooler and the 'comfy' shorts all the time around the house.

I always used to go bare legged when I lived as a woman and I still do, I wear mostly shorts as soon as the sun comes out - in Britian the last few years the summers have been awful in that weve not had a lot of sunshine, so we have to make the most of it whilst we can - and ladies, if your legs are white - get a spray tan or DIY with a bottle.

I have to say that for the most part, if you live south of I 10 here in the states, wearing hose of any type is a bit uncomfortable due to the heat. I can only say for myself, I only wear stockings when I need to because they are a little (not much) cooler than being encase in pantyhose from the waist down. I heard other women say the same thing over the years that if you live south of I 10 here in the states Knee highs are the only nylons that we would wear.

I love going bare legged in the summer. Not that we get a summer over here in the UK anymore! Make the most of it I say. We have another 51 weeks to wear hold ups, tights or hose :)

for me im only comfortable under dressing in public right now and full cd in the night. but in the summer months i usually shave my legs and being as normal tights are too hott i like to wear fishnets. its a great compromise. u still get the feeling ur wearing something but it breathes very well. in the winter of course ill shave(oviously lol) and wear tights, always helps keep my legs warm :)

I wrote awhile back that I'd shaved my legs for three years. I think now its more like five.Anyhow, I love smooth legs all year. I feel very fem. Shaving them is fem. My bumps seem to have gone away.I think maybe your skin gets used to it.I think if you want the female experence you have to feel the weather on your legs. Hot and cold.Legs can take the cold pretty well if your walking.Scots and Kilts. Trad. Swiss shorts.

Roberta, I'm exactly the same as you: I absolutely love my tights :) I always wear them outside the house now (along with my underwear), and I'm planning on buying my first bra soon!

Since I only started in the last couple of months or so, I've never dressed up during the summer. Especially if our Summer is like it was last year (4/5 weeks in a row with warm temperatures and not a cloud in the sky), I plan on getting a skirt. Whether my tights will accept being taken off in favour of said skirt, I don't know right now :) All I know is, right now I'm loving this new experience and am just going to experiment with a bit of everything to see what I like!

Lots of Love, Lily xxx

We have had a cold winter so knee highs or at least socks help keep me warm. This girl is mostly just trying to be comfortable now. Fortunately style allows for that. Only T loaded young men seem to be running around with bare legs this winter and most of them are quite hairy.

Charlize

I'm looking forward to the summer.

I have to be very careful in the sun as I burn easily and do not tan without extensive steady buildup over months which I don't have time for so am out showing skin for short periods only. This is usually limited to times when I swim in the sea, but I am looking forward to wearing the shorts I created from a pair of jeans (very short lol), perhaps with a t shirt (I have a short one - almost cropped - the combination will perhaps be a little young for me but she who dares? lol). I hope it gets warm enough or it will be a short outing!

I can live with the heat and except when swimming wore skinny jeans most of last summer. These days I am wearing leggings more often and will progress to tights (more openly than under leggings etc as I have this winter).

I go bare legged in the summer. I do so in the winter if it's isn't too cold.

@KymmieL I think we all have had to deal with a person who would not apologize when they were wrong no matter what.  In my case it was my MIL. Actually called me a lier I front of my wife.  Even when she realized she was wrong she wouldn’t admit it to my wife, nor would she apologize to my wife for any of the things she later admitted she had done that affected my wife.  I had a boss that accused me of saying things I did not say in a manner I did not use.  Even another employee told him that I had not said the things nor used the words but he still refused to back down.     Unfortunately, all too many people in this world believe they are always right no matter what.  Some are very famous.  lol   Willow

I wish I could cope as well as others. I feel very defeated in that all of the consideration, and then treatment to transition, could all be wiped out by this time next year with the united effort by the R party to eradicate all that is transgender. I fear that the national election could turn out to our detriment, and we will face a national push to eradicate us. Tracking us down will not be that hard to do. Once they know who we are, forcing the legislation to reverse our name changes, gender marker changes, and other records, will not be that hard. We saw an example when the AG in Texas was data mining the driver licenses for those who had gender marker changes. Who will we appeal to? The Supreme R Court? We would have an easier time trying to convince a Russian court.    We need to get out and vote in November. There is not enough Ben & Jerry's to improve my outlook on all of this. In some ways it is a cruel thing in a way. In the early 1930s, Germany was working hard to hunt down the LGBTQ population and eradicate it. Now Germany has better protections there than we have in many of our own states. About 90 years ago, Germany was seeing the rise of their very own dictator...Now the US is on the verge...Oh never mind. What a difference 90 years makes...    History may repeat itself, but sometimes it shifts the focus a little...

I have the same problem as you, my face is the main reason why I get misgendered I'm pretty sure. I think it's mostly up to genetics how your face will look (T can help, but still genetics will determine how you end up). You can't change your facial structure really, you can get facial masculinization surgery but it's expensive so not an option for most unless you're rich lol.    Experimentally (I haven't done it but want to), you could see if any plastic surgeons around you will give you Kybella in your cheeks. It is an injection that removes fat, and is usually used underneath the chin/on the neck below the jawline, but some may use it off-label on the face. The only potential problem with this is that if your face would naturally thin out at an older age, it could thin out extra and make you look older (though I'm not certain on this). Another option is to get filler in your jaw/chin, which would make your jawline look more square and your face more masculine. I want jaw filler but I'm poor lol, it only lasts one year up to a few years depending on what kind you get, so it would have to be done every so often and can get expensive. I did get chin filler once, only 2 small vials so it didn't make that big of a difference. I would recommend going for the jaw if you can only choose 1, I wish I had done that.   Those are the only options I know of that will bring legitimate noticeable changes.

Thank you.    Trans men and trans women each have their own struggles for sure, but I agree, it can be a hard time to be a non-passing trans guy. There is no specific "man clothes" that only men wear. People could just think I'm butch (which sucks to think about, if people think I'm a lesbian when I'm a dude!!). I mean I would feel better if I got gendered correctly even if I don't fully pass, it would maybe raise my confidence to think maybe I do pass well lol! Instead I'm just reminded I don't.   Though I may just focus on the times I don't pass and ignore the times that I do. Because I rarely remember getting gendered correctly, but I hone in on the times that I don't.

Thank you, I'm glad to be here. :)   I have been in therapy for 9 years but still can't seem to accept myself. I think it has to do with growing up trans in a world that hates us, especially in the south. I mean I was discriminated against by adults and ostracized as a kid/teen due to being trans. My family is accepting, but the rest of the world is not. I realize now a lot of people are accepting (even unexpectedly, like my partner's conservative republican Trump-loving parents lol), but it feels like my brain is still in survival mode every time I exit the door. I am a very fearful person.   My body still may change over time, but it feels like I haven't met the same 'quota' (don't know the right word) that a majority of other trans guys have on far less time on T. Most trans guys pass easily 1-3yrs on T, I'm double that and still don't pass well except my voice.

Thank you. I am just used to seeing trans guys who pass at like... 6 months to 1 year, at the most 3 years. And I just don't meet the mark, all the way at 6 years. It is possible with time I will masculinize more, but it's frustrating when I'm "behind" and may never catch up. It threatens my mental health mostly, possibly my physical health if I'm visibly trans (though I don't ever go out alone).

Yeah, I am grieving the man I "should" have been. He will never exist, especially not in my youth. But I don't know how to healthily go about it instead of fixating on the life that could have been.

Sorry it took me a while to respond!    I would like to get to know you. :) I only have mental disabilities. Schizoaffective disorder, depression, and anxiety. The last two are severe and very treatment-resistant. I did have physical problems for some time, but it was caused by an antipsychotic medication (Invega). It basically crippled me, muscle weakness/fatigue, basically could barely walk (used mobility devices) and doctors were useless since they didn't suspect the medication I was on! I've finally ditched antipsychotics (hopefully for good, unless my symptoms come back). I usually don't share like this, especially in person, but hey, I'm anonymous. :)   I'm not expecting reciprocation at all btw, these things are personal. There is more to us than disabilities, so tell me about yourself if you still wanna talk!
