I have finally got an appt to go and talk to a therapist. Its not untill 3/5 but its a start. I am vary nervous though. He's not a gender therpast, and its a he. I feel so much safer with girls. I know that they are there to help, Im just scared. I thank all you you for your wonderful support you have all helped me get this far. I just need another little push.

It's a great start - I hope it gets you going. We always recommend a gender dysphoria thearpist - the he/she usually isn't that big of a deal. Ask him right off the bat if he can help you - and if he is familiar with the Standards of Care. You may need him to refer you if possible, But there were only 7 qualified therapists in my state - i was lucky to find one nearby.

Hey - stop worring and get some sleep - grin

Here comes a big and hearty KUDOS. The fact that you have an appointment says that you have come to a place of strength where you claiming the right to open up and begin the in-depth work of self-discovery. What a scarey but wonderful time of your life. Just take a deep breath, pat yourself on the back, and by all means, hug yourself...you'll love yourself for it!

Well you're at the right place we're all pushy here! :D

That is when a little push is what you need and it is for this, so just remind us of that date and we'll all help you prepare.

Concentrate on this and practice really hard - just talk to him like you do to us!

That's all you have to do, he has to work out everything else, in this - you've got the easy part.

You just talk and about yourself, a subject in which you are the world's leading authority - no one knows you better than you!

Relax and enjpy - he should be supportive and you see how good that feels over the Internet, imagine it face to face.

It is wonderful!

I was scared of therapy at first, but I love going to see her - she's my best friend, she calls me by all of the right names and pronouns! :D

Don't worry, anticipate!

Love ya,

Sally

Congrats and good luck! :D ....I wish i had the courage to go talk to someone, so i could try to figure some stuff out.

Jaymie sweetheat - why don't you? I seems scary at first, but it really isn't? Therapist are on YOUR side.

Just an idea - go for it!

I call my doctor and tell his receptionist " I'm that transsexual", then "oh I'm sorry we don't talk about that",

and then give my real name.

They think this is pretty funny.

My poor Doctor can't seem to figure this stuff out.

I'd change Doctor's but I seem to be educating them...

You just have to like yourself and have good ideas and plans.

No one in my life supports my transition

Being too passive has cost me alot of success in life.

Finally, I feel good to ignore people who really have no real interest in how my life turns out.

Morning y'all.    Nearly winter here, but it's a mild climate compared to what most of you experience. Even so, the best way to describe the mornings lately is...nipply! 😁

What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow

Hello we are The lake. So called because This One has not determined a name for oneself but has in a way created an environment to try out multiple names as different people. Currently Some of us use she/her pronouns and one uses he/him. We hope to learn more about being transgender and the intricacies involved. Once again it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and we hope to be of further help in the future.
