Mind, body, spirit, where is gender?

I believe that, as being made in the image of God, we have three parts: mind (God the father), body (God the son), and spirit (God the Holy Ghost). Assuming this, I'm not sure where gender is located. I currently believe that it is part of the mind, but I'm interested in hearing other perspectives and opinions on this. I base this belief first on the end of Galations 3:28: "there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.", which I take to mean that gender does not exist in the spiritual realm, and second on the fact that pure experience demonstrates to me that gender and physical sex are separate. So if the spirit is not gendered, and the body is not gendered, perhaps the mind can be.

This is an open question for discussion, since I really don't have a lot of perspective on this and am not grounded in my own opinions.

I believe something in my mind tells me I'm female. This is also where my right-handedness exists.

There are people with DID who can flip things like gender and sexual orientation and which hand they favor back and forth. The spirit and body are the same. It is a mind disorder caused by trauma.

We are a triune being, but I'm so not sure I would go so far as to equate the mind, body, and spirit of our existence with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless, science has concluded that what causes us to have this deep sense of being of one gender different from one's own physiology is rooted in the brain, I would say that the gender is about the mind.

Groovy. Now I don't feel like I came up with a bunch of whacko ideas myself that make no sense outside of my bubble. :)

Gender is an issue of identity. Identity is a core theme of both Biblical testaments. When God self identifies as "I am" in several places, that is an identity. Being one of the Children Of Isreal as the Hebrew people did, is also an element of identity in a world where group identities were crucial.

God took on a human identity in the form of Jesus, but also sanctified human form as a part of all identity. In one real sense personal identity above group identity took on a new dimension. Paul in his letter simply said that all identity, imposed by by self or society is still able to be one with "I am" without concern of acceptance.
