What Are You?

I am posting this in the General Forum because I would like input from everyone. :D

I was at a meeting the other day and met some wonderful people.. One of the guests said she was once asked 'what are you?' - not at that meeting but in a university setting. She is actually not TS but her boyfriend is FTM. She defined herself as multi-racial (whatever that means) and bi-sexual, and a grad student in biological studies. We had a great talk - but that "what are you?' question bothered me afterward. It had bothered her too, obviously, when it happened originally.

SO

Topic: what would you say if asked "what are you?"

Do you include age, heritage, gender, economics, education - just what?

To make it fun - PLEASE LIMIT YOUR ANSWER TO ONE SENTENCE.

It will be okay if you want to add more - but anything added should be informational and not really part of the answer.

The intent? To see how you evaluate yourself - and assume everyone already knows you are a human being - so be more responsive than that. :P

OK, Lizzy,

I'll start this off. As to the human being part - never assume, I could be a thousand monkeys with a thousand keyboards and having finished writing Hamlet find ourselves with a lot of free time!

I would be the very definition of the Renaissance Man if I were not a MTF Transsexual, wanting to learn everything, do everything and help everyone while remaining an incurable romantic with deep religious convictions and a thousand other different facets - a jewel of great worth, take the time to know me.

How was that?

Love ya, Troublemaker,

Sally

What am I?

I'm awesome! =D

Best answer ever. =P But when explaining my gender to my friends I generally say "I'm a transman! Like superman, but less cool powers and more misunderstood."

But if asked that question I'd definitely say I'm awesome.

Hummmmm - why am I not surpised... twelve monkeys for sure... a thousand different facets possibly, long winded probably, a jewel of great worth certainly.

I am a child of God.

That's the answer that came to mind when I read the question. It's a really a great answer. It makes us all sound the same, which I guess is kinda boring, but at the same time, equally good and equally loved.

I'm a trumpet player, I can read the opening sentence in the Bear by Faulkner in one breath and it's about three pages long!

Long winded!

Just kidding. :D About being angry not about the reading aloud of long sentences!

Trying to keep this short - firing a couple of hundred monkeys!

Love ya,

I believe that I am a child of God and that brings me great comfort.

April, did you ever start that blog you were thinking about?

Sorry Sally, but nope, I never started it. Who knows if it will happen. I do want to try it, but I don't know if I'll actually ever get it going.

I am a writer.

It's amazing how well that can really sum up a person and a personality

For any other writers, I was reading a book about writing and came across something I found really funny. (it's paraphrased)

When you ask a writer what their hobbies are, they'll tell you reading, and then maybe basketball and knitting and drawing- and they'll be lying about everything but the reading. :P

They say I seem a bit selcouth, quite soricine in satire, but I suggest a surrogate, a supposition of the soul which seems to desire solitude, seeking a silvicolous lifestyle…but see here, I am sanguiferous, and if you seek a simpler specification, I am sanguine and serene, a sophisticated scoundrel, yet subject to the swallet of spirit, keep in the sacrarium of solace, yet never to survey the significant sensations sought in society; therefore, by serendipity I see what sign I seek, a scrow scribable to screed, a scrimure seeking skiamachy, all secure in sabaton: surely I speak of my own satisfaction; a sortie strife to scialytic, keeping as stimulus, not with surquedry, for stiver holds not sooth, but slander and subterfuge, and so I say surely this concoction of semantics swings askew of its seminal scheme, so simply said, you may call me S.

I assure you that is one grammatically correct sentence, and all of the words exist ^^.

I'm the same (estradiol, no blockers) and for me, after 4 years, T levels naturally *decreased*. I'm at E&T levels of a postmenopausal woman.   Astrid

Revealed: the super-rich fascist Maga lobbying group who is brain-washing the far-right policies of Trump and other Republicans.   Documents show the Conservative Partnership Institute is pushing its far-right agenda at events involving GOP members. A powerful, right-wing lobbying group is promoting a hard-right policy agenda and cementing ties between the Republican party and the far right at at least 21 events involving senators, members of Congress, and both junior and senior political aides. The documents offer previously unreported details of Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI). In 2021, the former congressman and Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows joined CPI. Both Meadows and Mitchell were at the center of Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Meadows was indicted in Georgia in August.    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/23/conservative-partnership-institute-republican-laws

As a side question, when you start E (I'm only doing E. no blockers), does T fight back? (Insert "Empire Strikes Back" theme music here, lol)   For awhile, things downstairs seemed very subdued. This week, not so much. Kind of like back to pre-E days. Just curious.   Did labs yesterday so that should tell me something when I get results...

Welcome Bobbi!  I hope you enjoy the forums and find them helpful.  There are lots of lovely people on here.  I'm a late in life trans woman just getting started myself.

Had a very nice day yesterday.  It was certainly worth the drive.   Something interesting to me.  We went out to a restaurant after the regular meeting.  After the meal we were getting ready to leave.  I had an hour and a half drive ahead of me, and had drunk a good bit of tea.  I'm kinda careful where I use a restroom, and this place was full of people.  I asked one of the other girls (who all live there) if I might get in trouble.  (They all know where I live)  She just looked at me and said "This is Asheville."   I realized how nice it is to live in a place where you are not always looking over your shoulder, wondering if something is going to happen. It was a good day.

Yeah.  A surprising number of us are veterans.  I was a little surprised myself when I realized it.

I joined as Charlie as i left Chuck (Charles) behind.  My wife suggested Charlize as i started to make the necessary legal changes.  I don't turn my head anymore when someone says Chuck.  It took time but when the name fit it became me.   Hugs,   Charlize

Good to read your post @Kylie.   March 2024 is not so long ago,  but a couple months can be such a difference.   What a relief.    Your responses to some of my posts the past couple years helped me to believe in success beyond obstacles.    And  helped me get through my own multiple bottom surgery situation.  Happy that you are officially done😊

Good morning everyone,    I hope you have a wonderful day today. I’m living the puppy life mass energy followed up with a nap. Just when I think he has this potty training down, he relieves himself in the laundry room. We’re slowly introducing him to the other dogs in the neighborhood, with good results so far.    Enjoy,    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
