Laser Hair Removal in Los Angeles?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently saving for laser for my facial hair, and would like to start hopefully by the beginning of next month. I have very dark facial hair, so I think laser would be better than electrolysis for me.

I've been researching places that are effective, hopefully trans-friendly, and of course: affordable! I've heard a couple recommendations for Layla's Electrolysis (who apparently also does laser for a pretty fair price) and was leaning towards going there, but I haven't actually heard of any experiences in full facial hair removal there, only electrolysis. WeHo Laser got great reviews too, but $200 a session is probably more than I can afford.

Anyway, I was wondering is anyone can recommend a laser place in Los Angeles that perhaps they've had a good experience with?

Thank you!

Gina

Although I am in the L.A. area, I am not in the West L.A. portion of it. The place you mention is fairly near U.C.L,A and I checked the web site on them. The website does not give prices, but they are in a place to have high end clients, and would most likely live up to their location which is nosh to be sure. Maybe a little pricey too. I have not gone for Laser myself since my skin and hair color are not suitable for it.

Pin yourself down by a few square miles and I might be able to home you in. The SGV after my name is a general location for me. (Pasadena et al). Anything in the West Hollywood or Wesl Los Angeles area will be friendly to us. There are places out east here too, but I cannot just name them for you. PM me if you would like.

I got mine done at American Laser Centers, a national chain. It was around four years ago, but they did a good job for me, and the couple of staff I came out to were cool about it. Of course, every clinic will have a different staff. They had a deal at the time, about $1,600 for a year's worth of sessions, and they finished my face in 10 months. They also let me finance it with no interest charges. They have several offices in the L.A. region. Good luck, hon.

Thank you for your help everyone. I did not realize the page had been updated, Carla, I will check it out! I will also check out ALC Carolyn, I had never even heard of that company.

Diane, I know that so far one place I've called was $200 and the other was $150. When I end up having it done, I'd be happy to keep you informed of the details if you like.

Love,

Gina

I saw this concert in which it is said that the famous phrase of Jon Landau "I saw the future of rock and roll and his name is Bruce Springsteen" comes from that night. By the way Bruce opened for Bonnie Raitt that night and she was the better performer . . . just sayin'.

Astronomy and astrophotography.  I have done a few public presentations on the subject and could most likely wing it for an hour without putting you to sleep.   On the other hand if you need a sleeping pill, I could also talk for an hour about flying and you'd be out cold.

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.
