3 Mon HRT and I Want To Cry

It is no longer a dream....a fantasy of mine....it is really happening....and I am so happy that I want to cry! After all these years about thinking and wishing that I could physically change my appearance to be the individual that I always dreamt to be is finally happening, and I shout to the world...."Ready or not, here I come!"

I started my trasition rather late in life because of personal and family issues - I'm now a young, vibrant 66 year-old with her whole new life to look forward to. With that behind me, I can only looked forward to new things to come.

Today is my THIRD MONTH ANNIVERSARY of being on prescription HRT and I am very content so far. Not only are some of the physical changes are becoming more apparant as time goes by.... I have also noticed other, less obvious ones also. I am more at ease with myself, not as aggressive or as competitve as I am more understanding and aware of my surroundings. Noticing the little things in life that I always took for granted in the past. My senses seem to be hieghtened, more aware of my surrounding and being rather than just going thru the motions of life.

I do not know if any of this makes sense, or not, to anybody but does to me....and that is what I feel counts! I had tried fighting this (GD) all of my life....but IT NEVER GOES AWAY! Being true to myself, and my inner most feelings, has freed me to be the peson I want and need to be. Self-awareness and self-acceptance are the steps towards making me feel whole,,,,being able to live comfortablely with myself.

As long as you are alive - IT IS NEVER TOO LATE! LIFE IS A GREAT ADVENTURE! BE A PART OF IT! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND MAY ALL OF YOUR DREAMS AND WISHES COME TRUE! I KNOW THEY ARE FOR ME!!!

Many hugs and best wishes to all!

Kontessa honey I am so happy for you, to finally be able to realize your life's dream is truly awesome. I just started my HRT yesterday and am simply ecstatic. I agree with you, it's never too late. I will be 55 next Wednesday and I couldn't be happier that I am on my way to realizing my dream!

Hi Kontessa, I'm in the same age range and started HRT 4 + months ago. The positive perspective change and finally finding peace, calmness was also my experience. I describe it as lifting of the fog. My ex wife loves the new me with the mental changes and so do I. The physical side is happening much faster than I thought, and hiding the breast growth is becoming difficult. I never thought at my age I would exhibit such growth - I still run a major financial group and I am in stealth for at least another year.

I used to fear that it was too late for me to start...and I'm 28. If I've learned anything on these boards it's that it truly never is too late to start :)

Having been on hormones a little longer than some of the rest of you I can say that from day one, and still, it seems like after years of a slow starvation of our souls we are at last getting a full spiritual meal when we start on hormones. I am another one on the high side of 65 and like Konnie, it is a truly new beginning of life even with the so called "age reduced effectiveness" of the Estrogen and "terminal testosterone poisoning" that we have gone through. All of us can have the peace of mind and happiness that Konnie has now, and I'd send her a whole case of Kleenex, but I just used it up myself just thinking about it.

Congratulations and continued happiness there doll!! You and all of us deserve it.

Hi Konnie,

Thank you for sharing!

Your feelings are shared by many of us, that HRT has miraculous properties, and that life begins anew.

I am so happy for you that you have had the opportunity to experience your rebirth. Happy birthday!!!

Love, Megan

I'm happy to hear that your journey is a pleasant one.

Indeed it is never too late for us as long as we are still above grade.

We had soup and steamed rice for dinner tonight.  Simple, basic, feed-a-ton-of-people kind of food.  With strawberries for dessert!  We have a huge strawberry patch, so I spent a couple of hours this afternoon picking.  And there's some left over, which I put in the downstairs kitchenette.  Time for a late night snack!     Outside of meals, I mostly live by nibbling on fruit and a few green things.

Well, it is officially summer.  85 degrees outside the last two days, and GF is sick and irritable.  I have to curl up under heavy blankets in my nest, because she's got the AC turned down to the point I expect to see icicles growing on the ceiling.  This is what life is like when your partner is an arctic creature. I should be used to it by now, but just when I think its nice and warm, she has to freeze me.

I just can't resist.  Does all that mean that.............the bird is the word?

Well, that might be interesting.  At least since she's 24, its not like you're on the hook for expenses.

Been using the wok on the back deck a lot the last few months.  Just got another stock of udon noodles from Amazon and we are using those in the stir fry with onions, peppers and a spicy peanut sauce.  I did this often in the 90's too, but back then I was just using a standard Coleman camp stove instead of this high BTU wok burner.  I've had the burner for a couple years, but haven't been using it regularly until recently.

I’m a lefty. Learned to be a bit ambidextrous for certain tools that assume right handedness like scissors, but couldn’t write with my right hand to save my life.

Tangent, adjacent, opposite...  It's still rock n' roll to me.  I don't know about the "in god we trust" part of the money, but I like the lady with the scale.  And then I look left at the Indian statue on my mantel of Guanyin feeding a drop of liquid to the dragon at her feet.  In god we trust?  The lady with the scale?  Maybe this is too binary.  And then on the other side of Guanyin is that kind of pelican wood bird that sits two feet tall that I hauled back from South America through the Panama canal.  The beak broke in 1998 and I carefully saved the pieces (as I usually do) and attached them back about a decade ago.  I used a drill to make a small hole and then put a finish nail in there.  Then a hole on those two pieces that needed to be attached.  Upper and Lower beak.  There is still a seam showing.  I could cover that up, but the beak is a bright yellow and well, it's better with all the pieces in place and I don't mind seeing the crack.  I guess that is the tangent and the other two are the opposite and adjacent. -money  Why don't coders always code the "-" action in their search fields?  It's not that difficult!

@April Marie Yes, it's something to shop for at least for 6-8 weeks.

Definitely points to learn and keep in mind.  A bunch of stuff I had put in mental "cold storage" thawed out a bit there and ready again to run through my mill.  As said, a bit long and as usual from her a tad bit challenging.  Overall I see it and can use it as a working hypothesis.
