Fredericton Pride 2013

Although I'm posting this *on* the week of Pride - the Festival started off today and they have events going throughout the week. The parade was today - it was great - but small. Events are smaller this year than last year although I think that has a lot to do with the community too - some of the small businesses that were present last year couldn't make it due to prior commitment. I was kind of disappointed, but we take the feedback from this year and hopefully change things up for next.

An awesome day for me to try out "guy mode" - and chat with some old friends - without being looked at funny.

This is Fredericton's 3rd Pride Parade - I've gone to all three. It's funny to look at the photos over the past few years and see how things have changed.

Despite the events being smaller we still had a bigger crowd and it looks like it will just keep growing.

For what is typically such a backwoods town this is so, so important.

Met up with some people that run a group that is aimed at improving mental health/medical/etc services for the area and I intend to be a part of that as well.

First year with floats in the Parade, too.

I've been to Fredericton once in m life, when I was small. Nice to hear that it's come so far as to have a Pride at all.

I hope that you meant that the parade was on Sunday.

I would find it "hard to believe" it would be on Monday.

Floats are always nice in a parade.

Sure wish the advertisements for regional events would be much better here.
