I saw that last night, as my nose hit the keyboard. I had seen a different news source which thankfully was not Fox news. The fact that oponents are "soliciting plaintiffs" for a challenge to the law disgusts me no end. It does not even come into effect until January, so the current school semester is not directly affected. I was not surprised though to see reference to "children can not play on sports teams because----".

It certainly should help, Angelica. I hope she, and the school admins, know about this. It doesn't take effect until January, but that shouldn't stop the school from working with her now.

If there had been a law like that here in Colorado the young girl and her supportive parents from Colorado Springs would not have had to go through months of court and appeals to finally get the school district to follow current Colorado State Law covering the rights of restroom use.

I learned tonight as I was doing research on this one in another topic that there is a federal court case on bathroom segregation many years ago that has been successfully applied to TG people using gender appropriate rest rooms. Interesting how we are closing in on our victims for a kill!! Mere discomfort does not justify discrimination. Some of the underlying court and school district policy guidelines say that uncomfortable Cis people can use "enhanced privacy" facilities which the Education Code already provides for, and while Trans* kids can use those, they are not restricted to them.
