Haii my name is Kira but my friends call me Fatigue . After comming out and going to group, i met a transgirl names Roxy who was able to lactate, and proud to mention it, but when i asked how she did it, she gave me the most vauge answer like she didn't want people to know and keep it to herself. and i wasn't about to stop my hormones for an unknown ammount of time in order to induce lacation hoping to start again at the right time...

so if anyone knows how to do thing i would like a detailed description of how and all the steps from breast pumps to hormone manipulation.

thank you very much :3

Lactation in a MtF on HRT means that prescribed hormones are doing damage, and needs to be seen urgently by a doctor. The pituitary gland, which can majorly affect your health is unhappy with your HRT program. It may or may not be related to a too high dose, only a doctor can tell that, and it is patient by patient.

If your friend is that spooky about her stuff, then my guess is going to be that she is self medicating and see item above!! We do not discuss self medication or the use of herbal estrogens on this forum. That is LAW.

I have already had one mammogram that scared the heck out of me a few months ago, but with a biopsy, turned out to be a benign tissue intrusion.

There have been recorded instances where MtF's have been carefully and with STRICT MEDICAL SUPERVISION induced to lactation while they were new parents, and their SO's could not nurse the child, but that is NOT COMMON.

Lactation will NOT in the long run affect your breast growth, and could damage them as it does to natal females.

I've never heard of this. What kind of damage is being done?

Maybe the word damage is a little over the top, but lactation means the presence of Pitocin in the blood stream which is triggered by hormones normally associated with pregnancy and its dramatically high levels of E at the time a natal female delivers a baby. Other hormones take over once a child begins nursing to keep the lactation going. In a natal female, the estrogen level peaks and drops after pregnancy, in MtF's we are trying like heck to keep our levels high.

The pituitary gland is one of our major life glands that controls many things. The pituitary gland can also become cancerous. We do not want to damage it. My endo gave me very clear instructions on calling in if I had begun actual lactation. We can expect some very minor "colostrum" discharge at times in our boob development, but even that needs to be brought to our Endo's attention.

In my own experience, having a baby around (especially when said baby is one's own child) can cause sympathetic lactation to varying degrees. But, there are no guarantees.

Talk to your endo and talk to a doctor. There are various medicines and dietary supplements that can help with it.

ok well guess i'll go out on a limb here :dunno:

I pray it doesn't break

Been there done that :ThanxSmiley:

Yeah i was proud as a peacock :agreed:

yeah was back when i was doing the self med thing==> not the way to go , but i understand why peeps do it

Pregnant women lactate because of 4 main hormones that their bodys produce during pregnacy

Estrogen , Progestrone , Prolactin, and Oxytocin.

any way Nuff said :Crylol:

I am not a medical practitioner (nor do I play one on television!) but there is a whole group of TS who are working on achieving lactation or have already done so. I know because I am one of them! (I had milk in April but let it slip.) My endocrinologist knows but has never mentioned any health risks nor have I head of any through the TS lactation folk.

If you want more information, search on "transgender" and "lactation".

i spoke with many Dr's about it, and none of them mentioned anything about dangers upon asking for them.

RULE 18

18). Users may not discuss how to obtain hormones without a prescription or their specific dosages of hormones nor encourage the taking of non-prescription drugs. ie. herbal hormones,

The posting of dosages of any medication is also prohibited.

The taking of hormones without being under a doctors supervision is a very dangerous thing to do.

The information you are requesting would violate this rule of the Forums here. If you have spoken to Doctors who have no problems with this practice, the only advice that we can give here is to call them and request an appointment. Web sites do not qualify here for being appropriate medical advice absent direct consultation with an M.D.

We are doctors now it seems, despite our constant statements that we aren't. Interesting, and where did herbal hormones come in eh? I self med but I don't use herbals derp.

Yet we are so willing to throw out doctor's advice. I am sorry, where is the line between doctor and just panic?

At the very least, when playing doctor, one should know what one is talking about or be able to research their facts before offering advice.

Bellexia, I think Vicky's second quote regarding the Rule is pretty straight forward in its meaning and literal statement. A site violation, but if you want to see your Dr. , do so...

Why is that met with an editorial opinion?

What do you expect a mod to do other than represent the rules we must live by and hopefully facilitate quality discussion and communication. Consider taking it at Face Value... delivered with with no other intent...

It is a conflict of the statement she made earlier where she WAS giving out doctor's advice. It's a case of posting then thinking.

Editorial? Eh? What in blazes are you talking about.

My endocrinologist is very conservative and cautious and warns me about any possible ramifications even if it is something I am doing on my own so, at least in my case, I know she feels there is no danger in it. (She also feels there is no "need" and that is why she doesn't actively support my quest for lactation.)

I don't think it would violate the rules to say that breast development occurs not only through estrogen but also through the presence of progesterone and both are required to 'mature' the milk-making portions of the breast. In normal cases, at the end of a pregnancy, lactation is triggered by a sudden drop in estrogen and progesterone levels and the release of prolactin and oxytocin. Both are released by the pituitary as a result of stimulation of the nipple and aerola.

All of this can be simulated and under the supervision of an endocrinologist is perfectly safe.

We're not medical professionals here so we need to be careful of any medical advice given. The last thing we need is a lawsuit for medical malpractice against us. Cool it with the medical advice. please.

When I spoke to my Endocronologist about lactating to increase breast development she Strongly warned against it because it could result in Serious Medical Issues.

Good afternoon everyone,   I often wondered why @April Marie and @Willowgot up so early in spite of being retired. Now that I have my own puppy as a house pet I get it. We haven't had dogs since before my oldest granddaughter was born 22 years ago this September. I've always had working hunting dogs, and it was important they became acclimated to the current weather conditions. While the kennels had large outdoor runways, they also had pet passes into the somewhat temperature controlled garage. Yes, they were allowed in the house but only for short periods of time. Fast forward to present time, and I'm potty training a puppy as well as crate training. The first night Parker Von Schwinegruber, slept from 10:30 until 05:30. Last night we went to bed and 10:30 and he started making noise at 05:00. Since I don't want to test his ability to hold his business, we got up and went outside. He took care of business and we went back to sleep. This time he had a dental chew bar and I filled his water bowl. We cat napped until 08:00 and then got up for the day taking him immediately outside. He took care of business, and we played fetch and tug of war with his now favorite puffball. We came in and I put him back in the crate positioned so he could see me cook breakfast. Did he NO HE WENT TO SLEEP! We ate breakfast, did the dishes, and finished off the pot of coffee I brewed at 08:00. Once he woke up we stared at one another for about 20 minutes, because he seemed content to be in the crate. I got up and we worked on some obedience training as well as getting into and out of the crate with permission. We don't want him to crash the gate or any doors we will be going through.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I have not heard about it here in California, but then again we have events of various sorts going on very often, and not just in the June Pride Month.  We have Trans Fashion Week going on at a hotel complex over in West Los Angeles for the next three nights featuring shows by Trans fashion designers and modeled by Trans and NB people on the runways there.  I missed a chance for some free tickets and while I know and love many of the participants I do not want to pay for the tickets which will be in the $50 to $75 range, and which at those prices are nearly sold out.  (Not to mention $25 valet parking each night at the venue complex.).  There will be actual high end fashion buyers there though and it is an area where we are gaining some good footing.  I also admit that NONE of the fashions are going to be anything at all that would fit my basic personal style but look fine if not crazy on my much younger Trans siblings who will model them. (Ok everyone else keep on @Mirrabooka's topic.)

Welcome to TransPulseForums @gizgizgizzie    I hope you find this place as helpful as I do. I’m also in a slow transition living in the androgynous world. I’m out to my grown children and my extended family with mixed support from them. Some have cut me out of their lives and others want me to be their flamboyant family member.    Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.

Happiness for me comes from being cognizant of the things that make me feel good.   Sunshine.   Pandering to my inner woman.   Knowing that some people in my life really 'know' me.   Vacations, and Eggs Benedict at an alfresco cafe.   My wife and I being telepathic.   Grandchildren.   Music.   Wine!
    • Ivy
True.  Every trans death is not a hate crime. There is so much hate expressed by some people, that we kinda get to expect it.

happiness to me is being ME. At all times, and it has yet to happen.
