Is My Style To Expensive?

So does anyone els think I have a problem when it comes to me finding a really cute corset and laying down $50 for it on the spot. I mean I've always loved pricy things but does this seem a bit rediculous?

Also not to mention the fact that anything I love is really expensive! lol

I've learned that it is harder to earn money than spend it. But it took me a few decades in the work place. I'm worth a lot of cool things, but I'll find a deal before I'll plunk down what the retailer wants for it.

So my advise is look for alternatives and shop around, and then decide if that's what you really want. A corset at your age pheww!

You probably look like dynamite, rub the scales from your eyes and see your beauty, throw the $50.00 in the bank.{not the stock market} Unless you want a hot tip,,nah just kidding about that Mia.

Those REALLY need to be 'fitted' SnowFlake if you buy a corset...buy large and<GULP>go in and have it tailored. Off the shelf will probably make you think...((((ARGH))))((((CRINGE)))) LOL...for good reason. A REALLY GOOD one might run 100's and THEN need to be tailored. You might toss $$$ on inferior stuff, this is something that you HAVE to be cautious with. It's cheesy (EVAN I don't like cheesburger's) or moderate or keep any flames away. It MUST fit...regardless...or it will be a disappointment probably. Just be ready to have it 'tailored' and then it can even be worn over or under as a garment. Go with the biggest bang for your cents and if YOU look good you will FEEL good about Yourself...and that's a good thing...your attitude will pull the rest of you along. Just remember the more under-stated and tastefull the better.

50$ is actually pretty cheap for a corset. Tight-lacing corset made custom-sized cost at least 400$.

I have spent 25,000 Yen + shipping + border fees (from Japan), for a lolita dress. A single dress. It ended up costing me 400$ Canadian.

This is the dress in question:

This dress, on the other hand, only cost me 100$ US + shipping (from China). A single dress as well. It cost me around 180$ Canadian (change rate wasn't as good). There was no border fees, because they passed it as sample.

This is the dress, though the picture is much older - it was my first dress and first lolita dress (I still have it):

In comparison, this black dress cost me 20$ (Canadian) at 50% off and looks pretty good. It isn't lolita though.

the ones I get are not the really high end talor items, I buy corsets from Tripp (which arn't metal ribbed and more like a really nice shirt {refer to my prophile pic})

but yes anything high end I would get fitted I even have gone into the place here in town that will do it ^^.

thank you for your consern though.

***stickin my nose in where nobody asked me to

Actually, I don't think thats too expensive. It sounds like a normal price for a "typical retail" corset.

Compliments and god bless you to every woman buyin corsets on this thread through.

<--fully believes the world would be a better place to live if more women wore corsets :P

We all seem to have champagne taste on beer budgets.

Love ya,

 I have still yet to meet a rich TS/TG individual. Something about our situation doesn't lend itself to having lots off money. Just my opinion and observation. Live life and enjoy it cause it truly is way too short and you never know when the journey will end ;)

Honestly I wouldn't buy something like a corset from a company like that 'cause they aren't really known for prowess in something like that all they know is what there customer basis is & what they want, personally I would spend the money to get a good one that will last you for some time, here are some links to places that I shop from. As was stated before a good corset isn't gonna be cheap but these ones are going to be worth it in the long run.

wow your lucky you can spend over $300 on this stuff.....I however dont work....

and as far as im conserned its a quality item, they just are geared more to every day wear.

If I buy one for a formal ocasion I might spend that much.....but for now no way am I spending three digits for a atrical of clothing ....Id rather put that in to the transition prosses...

but hey thats your own deal if you want to pay over $300 for one thing .....lol the only item I have spent alot of money on is my comp.

its currently at a value of $4,200 and growing......though I plan on making a living via computers...thus I love them...and end up spending more money on them.

A 300$ corset IS for every-day wear. Tight-lacing corsetry NEEDS to be made custom-fitted, and takes a rather long labor time. It's not machine made with a logo behind it "Made in China".

I would rather wear a good-fitted corset that fit me well than an ill-fitted one that scrapped my bones. It's your spine you're risking after all, and your main internal organs.

LOL there is no other reason I wear a corset other than the style and the pain I love so much ^^

I agree @Birdieto just "fit in", is what drove us to therapy. I'm not fitting in just to please someone with a closed mind. At least you know who your fair weather friends are now.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Yesterday in the lobby some of the residents were talking with me. One asked, "how come in all the TV commercials at the centre you don't appear in any of them?"   I explained that, "I'm an embarrassment to the centre and they don't know what to do with me." I get edited out!   Quite the differing options with the ladies at the table as some of them said, "that's discrimination", while others said, "they can see why."   Another lady said, "you would fair better if you cut your hair and went back to overalls, you should strive to fit in!"   Their opinions are as meaningful to me as rubbish. I did 45 years of trying to "fit in", and not doing that again. 😉

Gosh, missed Monday again.   Did you know that Producer Keith Oslen was distraught because the duo his recorded Buckingham-Nicks first album went nowhere? In walked Mick Fleetwood also distraught because once again Flleetwood Mac lost a guitarist in Bob Welsh and he was at least going studio shopping and came to Sound City in LA because he'd heard the drum sound they got there was incredible. He asked Oslen to play something recorded there. Olsen played some of Buckingham-Nicks and Fleetwood loved the sound of the guitarist and wanted Buckingham. Olsen said he comes with Nicks because Olsen managed both. Fleetwood didn't want Nicks but eventually the remaining Mac members said okay and next thing you know - the Fleetwood Mac that scored a huge following was born. Sadly right after the "Fleetwood Mac" album and before "rumours" was recorded, the band got huge headed and got rid of Oslen so they didn't have to play him a lot of music they wanted to keep. Olsen did ok after by recording Ozzy Osbourne, the Grateful Dead, Whitesnake, Pat Benatar, Heart, Santana, Saga, Foreigner, Scorpions, Journey, The Babys, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joe Walsh, 38 Special, and Eric Burdon & the Animals, among others. BTW - Olsen was also a members in 1967 of a band called Music Machine (not the James Taylor one) that scored a huge hit with the song "Talk Talk"

Still on contentment high from Sunday.
    • Heather Shay
CONTENTMENT The relentless pursuit of happiness often overshadows the more subtle yet profound emotional state of contentment. While happiness may be a fleeting high, contentment is the gentle hum of satisfaction that resonates through the soul, offering a sustainable path to life satisfaction. Oscar Wilde's poignant observation encapsulates this truth: "True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have."
