Sorry if this has been done already but which movies do you admire most for the best style?

My favourites are the old movies , the classics, Grace Kelly, especially in Rear Window and Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Hey, Sarah --

I also look to the 50's/60's for fashion inspiration. Hitchcock color films are always great because the women dressed impeccably. I also look to Sophia Loren's early 60's films for inspiration (Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow; Marriage, Italian Style). I think Loren had a quality about her style, in those early movies, that was sexy but also down to earth, which I love! :)

Grace Kelly, and Celeste Holm in 1956's" High Society", both of those 2 ladies had real fashion sense and style and having Frank Sinatra along for the ride dind't hurt at all.

Hey Eva,

Totally agree with your comments.
Sophia Loren was depressingly beautiful and elegant and she still is at the age of 78! .

I remember reading that she made a quote before that made me smile and I had to look it up.
“A woman’s dress should be like a barbed-wire fence, serving its purpose without obstructing the view.”

Hi Claire,

I loved High Society as well. Her blue dress was gorgeous.

Loved this dress as well (seeing as you mentioned Frank Sinatra I thought you'd appreciate).

Hey, Sarah, I love Sophia Loren quotes! One of my favorites is when asked how she got such a curvacious figure, she replied, "Everything you see, I owe to spaghetti."

That's funny Eva, here's another one of hers that I always found inspiration in.

I hope posting images is ok, it's like a picture tells a thousand words.
