So I have dressed masculine for years and exclusively in male clothes for months. I have a pretty good understanding of men's clothing but extra advice is always welcome. I am small chested (even more so with a binder on obviously), I wear 32x34 pants mostly. The biggest problem I have is finding shirts that don't hang off of me and I really want to find a vest that fits properly. Along with button ups or other semi formal to formal wear

I have heard that Abercrombie and express sell slim for stuff but is there anything cheaper?

Hi Erik,

In my male days, not that long ago, I was a smallish male, wearing mostly small sizes. I always had trouble with sleeve lengths being too short, but was able to find dress shirts with different sleeve lengths. The selections for small men are never as good as for the regular/large sizes, of course. I did try boys wear but never could find anything agreeable there.

I mostly shop the standard places - JC Penney, Sears, Kohls, etc. It's been a few years and things do change - - but with a bit of looking around in those places you should find something. Recently I went to a Van Heusen shop and bought several business-wear tops and sweaters. I always thought of them as a menswear place. Perhaps you could find one of them?

Best of luck!

Love, Megan

Try shopping at American eagle because I love that place I might even shop there as a girl soon. Anyways I'm 32x32 when it comes to jeans and express is my jean spot but American eagle is the must go for shorts t shirts and hoodies, their price for jeans is similar to express so meh, hi lister is also great for sweatpants and tight shirts so check that out also. Sorry if it's not that cheap but I won't be caught dead wearing stuff from department stores , maybe because they do carry my brands for cheaper, anyways have fun with my advice I'm 16 and in high school so I know my stuff because I still go to school as a guy

American Eagle Outfitters periodically has great coupons on their website-like 25% off anything etc-that you can use instore but also have really good sales and clearances online. Many 50% off I try on clothes in a store and then find the same thing online at the company store or Ebay.

I wear 30 X 32 usually and also have trouble finding clothes. My shoulders are 47 around now that I've been working out and I find getting shirts that fit can be a real challenge. I do shop at Ross and TJMax a lot because I can get the shirts etc at a fraction of retail and try them on. Once got a $60 Affliction tee for 49 cents! They didn't realize that Affliction comes distressed and thought it was defective. (Same tee was selling on ebay for over $35. Wish they had had more ) In fact it's a favorite.

Also Rue 21 men's has some shirts in smaller sizes. They are pretty much knock offs but seem to wear well and look good. Sometimes they have specials and almost give the shirts away-like seasonal change time. Since we have as much as 6 to 9 months of tee shirt weather here it works out well. I have found a huge difference in tee fit depending on brand and type. My shoulders are a medium to large and pants small so many times shirts bag around the middle. they do make slim cut dress shirts and those work well. Again I get them at TJMax and Ross.

Don't know your style but both stores carry a wide variety. From Affliction and Extreme Couture to Ralph Lauren.

One big thing to note is that depending on how tall you are, pants will become an issue if you are thin. I'm 6'3, though I've had this problem since I was like 5'10, where if you're like me, and are less that 140lbs, pants will never be tall enough and still fit tightly.

Just thought of one other thing. I ended uo with a pair of jeans from a thrift store that fit perfectly. Quickly became my favorite though I have worn them to a point they are no longer decent in public. I looked at the brand hoping to find more and was surprised to see they are boys Faded Glory in a husky size 14. The Wal-Mart brand. When I checked them out I saw that they have a variety of styles and cuts and being boys tend to actually fit better while being cheaper. They also have waists that can be invisibly adjusted from the inside

Might be worth trying on anyway. I'm getting another pair in black next week in fact. And maybe another pair like the ones I have already. Thinking about getting a 16 so the legs are a little longer-I wear anything from a 30 to a 32 but because I wear my motorcycle boots with a thick sole and heel often I like them 32 best. The 14s would be about a 30.Since I can adjust the waist that would not be a big issue

I'm 5"11, 125lbs. In stores, I have never been able to find men's jeans that don't drop right off me. Always have to order from Shepler's, so pretty limited in brands (Wrangler or Levi's are the only ones that go as small as 24 with inseams to 38 or so) and they're never "cheap" They sell shirts too, as well as Western wear (pretty much anything to do with rodeo or cowboy/cowgirl) so you'll likely find a good vest. Most chain store shirts are either baggy or too short in the arms...I'd stick to short sleeves or roll them up...Henley or baseball jersey style shirts are comfortable and versatile.

Wish I could be more help.

Be well and take care!

Well I will look at this problem with men's jeans as I tried some years ago to deal with the fit problem but was not successful. I will look at these places and see if I can find jeans that fit me...miss wearing jeans. I am just starting out on this little shindig of maleness after years of not really saying anything. Thanks to all who gave good advice!

I have recently discovered some Walmart jeans that fit sort of and this is making me very happy. I am realizing that I don't just want to cross dress as a guy anymore.

I tend to shop at Kohl's clothing store. They have a wide variety. I actually go to the Young adult section because I am 5'5. The Urban Pipeline brand there makes good jeans. And I get Croft & Borrow collared shirts. That is basically all I wear atm. I am a 32 waist 29 length mens.

Silly as it sounds, Matalan in the UK is best for clothes that fit well, I hate the fact that I am 6ft with 33 waist and 34 inside leg (mens sizes). But at Matalan I had no problems,

Now all I need is to find some nice boots with heels at a price my bank account can cope with in a UK 10 (European 44), lol.

That sounds pretty accurate. I'm just glad I don't use Windows anymore, as I basically consider Windows itself a virus/malware. Backups can absolutely save you from some types of malware like ransomware. However it's ideal to just not get infected by having smart browsing habits. It's been said, and very accurately so, that the best antivirus is you - even the best antivirus isn't 100% accurate in detecting bad stuff, if you go out looking for that stuff or browse carelessly.   I guess if you don't care and/or don't have sensitive data on your PC, then that's fine I suppose. I personally care a lot - personal accounts, private messages, and even my very presence on this site aren't necessarily things I want to be public knowledge. 🤓🫠

Yes he is. Sorry it has taken so long. One sick kid and the other has needed my attention more than usually.
    • MaeBe
Sure is! Is he good with the kiddos?

Once again the Biden admin ignores Congress and issues a regulation that can be quickly changed. It would be much wiser if they worked a bill through Congress that became law.

I think that is the camera on the floor. Of course the kids aren't picking up after themselves oh well. He sure is big for only being 6 months old.

@Birdie @Adrianna Danielle    @Willow    Big news today. We're moving to WA. My wife is taking a job and I am most likely losing mine, so it's adventure time. I'm supposed to be a risk-seeker (Aries, ENTP, etc.) but this is hitting every klaxon and alarm in my brain, but it's going to make my wife and kids happy and it will be a place to make new friends as me without the 45 years of binary baggage. There are tech jobs all over Seattle, which we'll be near, and it's a decent State for trans rights (I don't know how it compares to MN, which is a refuge state). So wish us luck! This could be the best thing ever or rocky as hell, who knows!

I know the feeling. I had to replace the dishwasher, fridge, stove. The only other issues that could pop up is the washer and dryer and the microwave oh I forgot the toaster.

That's the hard part of online relationships, they really never get to see the whole you. You either have to create a persona that will carry the day until they get to see you for who you are, or be open and take the risk because it's really easy for them to disconnect because there is little to no bond.   You have to share pictures of your puppy! I am not a dog person, but I can appreciate them in jpg format! My kiddos would love to have a pet, but we're all allergic in some shape or form and my wife and I are like, "no." :D
    • Ashley0616
I'm sorry Birdie! I wished you could move to a non-stressful place.

I love shopping for cars with my imaginary budget lol. A mustang is always fun to drive! Every time I felt down or depressed I drove it and it made me happy!

Well things have actually been really good lately. I got a dog last Friday. I forgot how expensive they are but they are worth it. Now if I can just get him potty trained that would be awesome! He only has one particular spot inside that he likes so I try to watch him carefully. He is part German Shepheard and part Lab. He is very low maintenance. The sad part is that he didn't know what to do with a treat nor did he knew how to play fetch instead my youngest was playing fetch. He is kind of getting used to toys somewhat. I'm no longer expecting a relationship because I tell them what is wrong with me because I don't want them to be surprised about anything and they always ghost me. Oh well.
