104 Sundays -- A Celebration Coming Up

Next week will be the Sunday closest to my second anniversary of beginning full time presentation at my parish church. A few weeks ago I was asked to be the hostess for our "coffee hour" after our 10:00AM service and had gone agreed to doing it before I remembered what day it would be. I have decided that I am going to bring iced cupcakes (possibly home baked, or I can go to the church and use the kitchen there) with the baby blue, pink and white colors of the Trans* flag on them. I may even put a candy rainbow on them if I can find some, or just rainbow cake sprinkles. I and a couple people including the pastor and our deacon will know exactly what the colors mean, for the rest its just refreshment.

I let the hospitality coordinator know my general idea but had not made up my mind what the snacks would be just then. The HC was on our parish vestry (lay governing board) at the time I had given them and our priest a coming out letter, and he told me some things I had not known about, but which left me with a happy tear or two ready to break loose. My letter had been given to the vestry members at the end of a March 2011 meeting, and it had confused and worried some of them, but a month later when my letter was higher on the agenda, they had unanimously come to full acceptance but wanted to talk to ME as Vicky just once before I did start coming full time. I had come the next month in female mode and it took several of them a few moments to recognize me, but the only question they asked was "what do you need from us?" My response to them was, Accept me and what I feel is God's Will for my life!" They could do that was their answer. From June to September I had gradually become andro, but after missing one week for a TG convention I came back, and have been me ever since.

To finish the theme out, I attended the women's service organization quarterly meeting today, and in 3 weeks will be helping make finger sandwiches for a formal High Tea they will be having in October!! How accepting is that!! The group president had grabbed me into the meeting as I was leaving after church!!
