Thanks for posting this Carolyn Marie I sent it to my mother who's coming to terms with my being transgender at the moment and hopefully it'll help her. Even if the subject is generating controversy here at least it's raising more awareness.

I am so happy that in both cases, the family was very Supportive of keeping their child Happy.

Everyday, I read more and more stories of parents accepting their Transgender children.

thats wonderful, its amazing how children understand what they are nowadays - i had no idea, i just told everyone i was a boy and got more and more frustrated till i just buried it for almost a lifetime...............im glad people generally are becoming more aware of this condition

Well, I think the mother's attitude is amazing and her argument is pretty solid - she wants her child to be happy and is determined to love unconditionally and support the kid no matter what. Blockers can delay things so there's no hurry to reach a decision. Georgina Beyer (first transgender politician) is against it though, and the NZ trans community is appearing devided. Here's a news item by One News (the most conservative news programme). Funny how they've cut all the mother's best words from the story!
