Male and Agendered?

So I've been thinking of a way to explain my gender and whatnot in a way that is understandable and makes sense (sort of) to others... Most of the time I go with just male or transman to avoid confusion, sometimes genderqueer transman and occasionally agendered and/or an androgyne if I don't feel like indicating what I think to be a kind of social role. Male is my social role and I function in society as a man, but my actual gender is neutral/doesn't exist really. I'm not wanting to get stuck in a gender box all of my own with special pronouns that I didn't ask for, and I still see red at being referred to as female in any way, shape or form. And if it weren't for society and maintaining my social role, I'd probably appear much more androgynous. Does any of that make sense...?

I can relate quite a bit to that as, although functioning as a man both in society and sexually, I am fundamentally gender neutral / androgyne mentally. The only big difference I have with what you say is that I am not concerned with being referred to as female. I tend to take it as a compliment and even if said in a nasty way I am seldom offended.

It is a big irritation to me and probably many others here that one is either male or female in society at large. In practice I believe everyone is a mix of both to some degree - admittedly little so with most of the population.

I must admit all these different terms drive me batty, especially as their meanings differ to some extent dependant on where you live or what group you are talking to.

In answer it all seems to make sense to me!

It certainly does make sense. I'm more than a little bit older. I choose to only see myself as female knowing of course that my history has given me a larger knowledge of maleness than most females possess. I can see your generation's search for a more genderless society. I makes sense to me but i choose to live in a more gendered society. That is probably because of my upbringing. We were one or the other and forced into that mold. Yours is a healthier conception. Times change for the best.

Hey =) I'm unsure but I can relate do your wear makeup? I discovered that when I am feeling gay the amount of makeup I wear matters to whether I'm seen as a twink or I think androgynous. I would say my makeup is toned down drag.

I'm still gonna go with the age old, if your happy that's all that matters!

I find it unnecessary to label our fellow humans but I do understand the desire we all feel to know what click we fit into.
