I went to my first session with my gender therapist yesterday, and feel a huge releif and weight lifted off my shoulders.

I felt relly good to talk and let all this out to someone,,,,,I needed it so badly.

We discussed much as I bared my self to her,I felt really comfortable with her so it made it pretty easy, plus the time is now to do this so why hold anything back.

We discussed treatment options as welll as other worries I have and recieved kindeness and reassurence which is what I really needed.

I feel better having gone and it gives me something new but "less" to focus on,instead of trying to figure everything out all at once working myself into a frezy.

I still have insecurities about hormone treatments and what it will all lead to ultimately but taking one step at a time will help with me over thinking everything.

All in all it was positive and the right thing to do. The last couple days are not anything near as bad as I imagined them to be .

I am lucky so far to have come out to my mom and gone to a therapist with all good results so far.

I have more appointments scheduled and will be moving forward towards the future.

I thank everyone for being here with their kind words advice and support, I am sure I will continue to need you all with more things to come as well.

Releived.

Even with four and half years on hormones, I still have my "insecure" moments in this one. Our journey is precisely a one step at a time thing and sometimes the words to stop die in our mouths as the next step has taken us with it before we may think we are ready. The important thing is that you have taken good steps that are safe and reasonable. You will not always feel in a reasonable and reasoning frame of mind but that is what therapy is for and why we do it. Good for you and your trail guide.

Stacie, dear, please don't assume the worst. You don't know how it will go, or how you will feel, until you do it. Going to your first therapy appointment is a huge change in your life, all by itself. The fact that you will have talked to a professional about yourself, your goals, and your dreams, will open up many doors, many feelings, that you never examined before.

I would be willing to bet that you will feel better following your appointment, and more positive about the future. Want to take that bet?

I dont agree at all. Opening up to someone who can help you move forward and make changes in your life will certainly prevent things from being the same.

You will be offered some insight there you have yet to consider.

Be honest be open , spill your guts about what this all means to you and I am sure you are going to walk out of there feeling a whole lot lighter since the weight of the world wont be sitting on your shoulders anymore.

You will be glad you did.
