The Ride

Reading DianeATL's Dante metaphor, I recalled this that I wrote many years ago, describing a sort of "spiritual ascension" from the place where many reside. But the body remains and thus, the journey continues... So, Diane, in honor of your words:

"The Ride"

In a field of heather green I lie

While the train I rode goes rushing by

I ponder the journey that brought me here

Via sun and darkness, laughter and tear

And I dream of wings by which to fly

Above the clouds, beyond times embrace

I feel the freedom as the winds erase

This chain that binds my body and soul

And demands of me such an exacting toll

And never does Time relent the chase

But here in this moment, of air borne and free

I am allowed to dream what I was meant to be

One of beauty and power and grace designed

A being cultured, perfected, refined

My heart celebrates this truth that I see

A revelation glorious in dance and song

The transformation of spirit for which I do long

An eternity passes and I heave a great sigh

I hear the mighty steam engine rush by

And the cries of those still pressed in the throng

In cars that hold them bound to the ground

Their moment of glory still yet to be found

I call, Come join me and you too can see

The wonder of who you were created to be!

Yet falls deaf amoung the ominous sound

Of the mighty trains screeching and unhalting wheels

Time gives chase, nipping at the heels

Of all who have felt the grasp of her claws

Squelching their song as she gnashes her jaws

Leaving nothing in place of all that she steals.

So I pick myself up and climb back on the train

And rejoin my sojourners in this testing of pain

To be with them when the truth is revealed

The glorious rapture they see as they're healed

And the heart of a friend, the reward that I gain.

Vey nice poem Jennifer, maybe one day I too can experience the field of heather green.

Brenda, there exists a place deep inside where all the beauty and grace reside. A place where none other holds the key, none other beyond you or me. It is there where the heather grows.

:-)

That was/ Is beautiful Jennifer

:friends:

Just like thee

 vanna

What? No verse in return?

Vanna, my dear, now it's your turn.

I shan't be consoled

With praises; silver or gold

It's thy rhyme for which my soul does yearn!

;-)

Thanks for your kind words.

How art thou

What you are

U are now

So can you see

See the glee

That is you

And is me

Look above

The flying dove

In your heart

It is pure love

Dear Vanna, dear Vanna

The Muses do shine

Their favor upon

Your words so sublime

The heart is what matters

The most in the end

And Yours has won you

The respect of a friend.

Peace to you this day.

Seeds of friendship

Grow well

in the fertile soil of the heart

With the radiant light of joy

And the tears of shared sorrows

To nourish them

They blossom into beautiful flowers.

There's a lovely poet named Vanna

Whose words come from Heaven as Manna

She rhymes with her heart

Full of love from the start

And she's pretty good with her grammar...

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷

@Abigail Genevieve, that is not an appropriate question, IMO.  This isn't the Army/McCarthy hearings.   Carolyn Marie

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?

Congrats to your family on the new addition!

Funny you think that I would be able to get through more than two sentences with how bad my stutter gets (joking, of course)   My topic would probably be mythology, random Japan factoids in my mind, or a favorite story   (Best option would be a fave story of mine including a lot of factoids on Japanese myths-)

Congratulations @ivy. Nothing beats a family growing two feet at a time!

I read each of your entries and learn so much. Thank you, especially, for the TransCentralPA info. I have been looking fora group and activities where I could express myself safely and with support. I missed this year's conference but next year might be possible and I am going to look at their other events, too.
