NOTE: Uterine transplants are now being routinely done in Nordic nations. This is a feasible surgery and not the stuff of dreams.

That's pretty cool. I'd like to see how that turns out.

I'm also a little scared. It's weird to think about how far we've come and how much we can manipulate and change our own bodies. We also know so little of the consequences. I hope there aren't any negative complications.

Any transplant is inherently risky . plus they cost BooKoo bucks. A heart transplant alone runs in the 100s of thousands . I imagine once this becomes a semi standard practice the cost would be astronimcal . I mean its fine for the super rich transsexual, but really how many of those are out there ? most scrape to afford hrt .

There are also un forseeable risks the main being . the male body is just not designed to be pregnant or give birth. I imagine it would be risky for both parent and child.

Though the idea does interest me. I do want to be a mother some day . friggen biological clock

Yes, Mia, the second article is what led to the first. I thought the entire topic interesting because some of our members actually have asked questions like this. So in the purely technical realm, it appears to be possible. Thus the question of if a transwoman will ever have a baby has now crossed into the question of when the first transwoman has a baby.
