First, get the split ends taken care of even if you sacrifice a couple of inches. My own hair is darn near spider web fine now that I am on E and it only goes to my collarbone, and simply getting the really dead stuff out made it look and act much more full and not as fly-away. Only shampoo about once every week or 10 days after you get it weeded out. OK to get it wet and use a conditioner, but hold off on the hair soap --. Get with the stylist who cuts your hair and ask him/her what they recommend for your hair type as far as a conditioner or a mousse for body. I have had my hair colored with a professional colorant, and the product itself has given me a little more volume. I did try a permanent here before Christmas, and while it did make the hair a bit thicker in texture, the curl lasted from the salon chair out to the curb in front of the salon!!

That is not my natural hair in my avatar, but you can see what mine does look like in my gallery. (The hair in my avatar is my hair, I bought it and paid for it!! :P

My colorist has told me tha some B vitamins can help hair to grow better and become shinier. We have to feed our hair from the inside and outside as well. Pantothenic Acid and Biotin are B supplements, dosage you can look up on hair beauty sites, or natural foods sites, the B vitamins are water soluble so whatever your body does not use it secretes it out. Some peeps rely on egg hair masques, some say raw yolks, others raw egg whites left in hair for fifteen minutes or longer will shine up your hair, others like olive oil or organic coconut oil placed in hair for a time, just be careful if rinsing out in the shower these oils are slippery and will make your shower/bath slippery as snot. And you will have to clean up the tub when done. A sink might Be the way to go. Go to where the women go for beauty advice, there are tons of beauty sites out there, and....enjoy the treatments it's all very girly!

Coconut oil in hair.. I usually do it once a week and it helps a lot. Google the different methods about it.. I just put it in for a couple hours and wash it out.

My hair is like Vicki's avatar, bought and paid for. My head is actually shaved to allow a better fit and look for my wig. I agree with the others. Go to a salon and get it done by a professional. They are used to all kinds of problems and know how best to get you looking good. Yours is a great problem to have, enjoy the process.

Hugs,

Charlie

I'm very lucky I now have a full head of hair that has density and now length and without any male pattern baldness - I have been on HRT for almost 12 months. I have always taken exceptional care of my hair - even when a cis male. So the following guidelines:

If you are not on HRT or just started then Rogain will increase growth, later on it does not matter as the HRT takes effect.

Wash you hair regularly and suggest that you shampoo three times and then add conditioner. If you use a blowdryer use a hair heat shield spray, high heat does destroy hair . When I was a cis male I had short hair which I shampooed every day and also went weekly to have the oil clogs in the scalp squeezed out, men have a lot oilier hair which clogs the hair growth.

There is this controvercy regarding split ends. It was always the hair salons advice to trim off the split ends and yes they can tangle but there is now a majority view that it does not help. I used to very much believe this and it still make logical sense to me.

Finally, there are suppliments that encourage both hair and nail growth and I have seen mixed reviews. I had no need but I understand it does work on thin weak hair.
