Has your hair ever started to grow too long that you get mad?

Maybe that's not the best way to put it?

Okay, whenever my hair isn't right, like not short enough, I get mean and moody, but when it's cut really short, I feel a wave of relief. Has that ever happened to you?

Well, I really need a cut hella bad right now. It's not even that long if you look at my avatar thingy, but it's way too long to me.

This week hasn't been going very well. That same guy I was talking about before called me out when we were hanging with friends. Told me I wasn't a boy mentally or physically. I know I'm not a boy physically, I'm not an idiot, I can see what's missing on my body. And as for mentally, he doesn't know what I think on a regular basis, nor does he know me well at all. I told him to back off and if he doesn't believe me, he can at least respect me and shut up, but I haven't been the same since. It's like I can't be myself anymore because of what he said. I don't know what to do. I want to blame it on my hair, even though it's retarded to think that, hahaha.

Now I'm thinking of not even going to prom. I just can't be seen in a dress. It would kill me, but I don't want another person telling me what I am and what I'm not, again, if I go in a suit. My friends would kill me, but I might have to miss out on this milestone of teendom.

OK, first it isn't the hair - it's you!

You are allowing them to dictate to you how you feel.

It isn't easy but you have got to be able to ignore the ignorant and the confrontational as well.

You can never be yourself if you allow someone else to tell you who to be.

So having told you what the problem is I will leave you to determine your course of action, I hope you choose to be yourself and not who others say you are.

Love ya,

Sally

He rattled your confidence.

Thats what it is.

The hair is just a "symbol" of that, that's why you're focusing on it. It probably is the one "easily changable" thing you have jurisdiction over that represents to you "being boy enough". At some point you're going to have to take what you are (notice I didn't say "who") and bring it from the "outside" to the "inside". Stop thinking its penises and haircuts and height and muscles and anything else you "peg" as components of being male and know that its the inside. Start identifying and celebrating the man within, not the "what masculine traits do I have" thing but the actual "man" -your character, strength, ability as him.

so when i got my haircut recently it was like a burden off my shoulders. i felt relieved of the fact i don't have to worry about people mistaken me even more as a girl if i had my hair long. i don't like my hair longer than my shoulders or even to my jaw bone. long hair on guys is prettty hot but to a point where it gets tooo long just looks a little untidy. thats what i think. if you can pull it off you can pull it off. but yeah getting your hair the way you want relieves things. plus it wouldnt get in the way if it was short. so yeah.

as for the guy. yea he doesn't know you. so don't let him bother you. be you and don't let him get to your head. prom is one big thing in high school. i don't think you don't want to miss out. who cares what people thinks and who will out you. as long as you have fun with your friends and you feel good about yourself is what matters the most.

i saw you should fight the guy and show him what you're made of lol. well thats what i would do. but if he is like really big and buff um i think smack talk will just be as effective haha jk. some people will just never understand and i think he is just one of them. he doesnt want to open his eyes. most people dont want to. its just the way society is.

*Mumbles some things*

Don't let him get you down. He knows nothing and only says this in order to make you mad. Theres no other reason behind it - he's only being cruel. Don't read into it any more then that.

my hair is fairly long but i think it works for me,

if i had my hair short more of my 'feminie' face would be shown so it would actually have a negative effect me thinks

He's doing what he's doing because he wants to urine you off. That's his way of trying to control you. This isn't about you it's about him and his insecurities, don't let him or anyone else have that much power over you. You know what you are, and who you are. BE WHO YOU ARE !!!!

MTF weighing in here.

Everyone is right on target. Its you.

Ha - that said...

No really - just know you are male. God help me it was hard for me to admit I am, was, and will always be a woman. I mean look at me? 6'2" tall and in an old established male body! But people can challenge me when I say I am female and I just look at them like - 'Stupid - how do you know! You have never been me! I am what I am and am working toward modifying my body! You are just dumb and transphobic and a terrible bore - and there is no way to fix THAT!

So work on self acceptance and attitude - guys can do that - I mean ATTIUDE!

Yeah - it was you! Grin - and guys get their hair cut whenevever they feel like it - the hell with it, don't worry 'bout that!

Aunt Lizzy? Wow - more like her former ego!

This is going to be short and sweet. Just remember their are a lot of guys out their that prefer their hair long. Some of the most gorgeous long hair i've ever seen have been on very secure men. Don't let anyone get to you. You are who you are, not what people think you are/should be or how they think you should look.

keep your head up. If you like your hair long, where it with pride. Find a style that fits. If not that's fine also, just don't let it be decided by someone else.

  • 2 weeks later...

someone mentioned somewhere about a 'a small levee' hair styles

i now realise and found out that they do exist!

the most common is spikey hair, but what makes it a 'a small levee' is that there hair is still fairly long but they still have it in the air

hmmm
