Looking at online models at the sites I shop just kills me! Ahhhh!!! I see the clothes I want and then picture them on my body and I just want to tear my brains out!

Lol

I can't be alone in this. Please vent with me in the comments! :) <3 <3 <3

Hugs,

Belle

You, too, can have a body just like those models, all for the low price of $25 per week. This fee will cover your weekly groceries(lettuce, celery and bottled water) and new panties and bras as you continue to drop weight.

Seriously, let the skeletons run the catwalk.

Hi Belle,

I get hip-envy. It isn't the size 0 models that get me so much as the well-proportioned body that makes a dress so sexy. Not in this lifetime!

I'll never have the amazing bodies models have. I'm stuck in a body that can only give me a less than perfect figure. I am also not young, not as healthy as i might wish and simply have, by modeling standards a less than perfect figure. What i do have is some contentment with myself including my body. I do what i can and try to realize that i'm just another small flower in the vase even if overshadowed and hidden by some beautiful blooms that i do admire. Perhaps i am also shading others less fortunate in societies concept of beauty.

Hugs,

Charlize

It's not real, it's designed to mess with you, entice you, they know what works, tried and true...

Remember you are sexy if you wear this, you are desirable if you wear this, get out your purse....

The clothes are designed for the models! Most of the static shots you see are selected and possibly doctored.

I'm not overweight (at least not by much lol) but would stand no chance of looking anything like most models.

That said - I draw and paint and use myself as a model. May never make professional but I like to dream a little!

Don't forget - larger models do exist for the bigger sizes - they just don't make the headlines

Stepping away from the models for a second, I understand what you feel but from a different angle (maybe not different at all). I love shopping and I love seeing and wanting to try on everything and build great outfits, but my problem is my body is not feminized. In fact, I sort of look like a man (yes, very sad). With that being said, I don't even begin to have the frame of a woman (big or small) so trying on the clothes (outside of jeans and tees) just isn't happening right now. This is the one thing that makes me feel dysphoric. I can imagine an FtM feeling the same if they were forced to wear dresses all the time. It is one part of the nature of my dysphoria. It is frustrating at times and debilitating at others. I feel your pain.

I know where you are at Ashley - I look in the mirror and sigh, but don't forget that many natural women don't have feminine bodies either but they get by because they have to. We just probably worry even more because it seems a major part of being a woman. It's always the dream to look perfect but few do.

One answer is to buy things that emphasise feminine features. For instance - It is interesting that a current trend in dresses are those which by their pattern emphasise a pinched in waist.

Being able to sew is useful as would be a friend who could adjust clothing to fit. If it fits right then that's half the battle!

Welcome to the life of being a girl, even if you think you are content with your body there is always that one thing you would give anything to change.....

@Tracy: I do most of my shopping at Torrid, so it's the plus-size models I'm talking about! They're just so gorgeous and curvy! I once bought a shirt that I really love from like Target or something... It's great, because since I don't really have breasts (and refuse to wear forms) the neckline kind of works for a more male-aligned body. Anyway, months ago, I was hanging with some friends and a cis-girl was wearing THE EXACT SAME SHIRT! I was in male mode, of course, at the time, but imagine the sting I felt when I saw how well it suited her very female body :(

@Ashley: I do not have a female body. I posted elsewhere that I am affected by gynecomastia (breast growth that happens to a portion of boys at puberty), although it doesn't appear I have any more than very small man-boobs. My head is shaved and I am sporting a goatee. I feel YOUR pain.

Hugs to both,

Belle

Yes, I have a lumpy, dumpy body that never looked good at any age. I know someone, trans woman, who has a great figure but never wears anything but jeans! How i would love to have HER figure, or almost any but mine. I would love to dress in some of the elegant dresses and accessories of the past, such as gloves(!) but though my feet aren't too large my hands are just too large to fit in women's gloves. That is one area Trans Men have the advantage over us,they can always go to Boys' sizes.

Belle, I totally get what you mean, you just wish that item could look as good on you as the model..our male bodies just can't quite make that shirt or skirt look as good as it can on a GG..Some of the girls here have bodies to pull it off, but some of us just can't under our circumstances. But you see it on the model and it makes you wish it could fit you as well.. we can dream.

April, that is def good advice. I have had some really bad experiences with a therapist in the past. She way violated my trust. That caused a massive amount of damage to every corner of my life. Truthfully, because of that i have alot of deep seeded trust issues. I'm not sure i could ever go back to therapy. You are of coarse right, therapy would help, suppose its a matter of finding the right one and learning how to trust again.

I look for purses with a shoulder strop that goes across the body. I also like many pockets. But one purse is not enough. I like purses that are artistic and make a statement about my personality. It doesn't have to be flamboyant, but matches my character. I also need a purse when I want to blend in and not be noticed so easily. One that won't draw attention to me when I don't desire it.

What if a social media platform giant, (we all know its name) on devices we own, is held responsible for creating rules to intentionally target our community? for political reasons?

Well just got back back from a visit to our oldest and family. It was nice having my granddaughter snuggle up to me on the couch. Gave me a big hug when we went over yesterday. Spent all day yesterday with them.  I envy my granddaughter, being able to grow up a girl. Something I wish I got to do.    Hugs, Kymmie

I hope our members from the Mid-South are doing OK today.  A lot of places had a real disaster overnight.  Tornadoes dropped all over, through Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee.  Lots of damage, and many people missing.  Pray for those involved, and that there won't be another wave of it tonight.   My county was spared almost all of it, but a neighboring county was hit hard.  Our Defense personnel were mobilized this morning to assist with access control, because all their local LEOs are needed for search and rescue.  No idea of how many are injured and missing, but there have been several deaths.  We may not know for weeks.  Rural areas here have a lot of shacks and trailer houses, and most people were asleep because it hit at the worst time - early morning on a Sunday during a holiday weekend.  Tornado hit a retirement home, and lots of elderly folks were hurt bad.  There was no forecast for this, and little if any warning.      Electrical outage is widespread, and it has been followed by a really hot, humid day.  Heat index is around 115 - it's killer heat.  I went out with my husband this morning, since everybody with a CDL was needed for a convoy.  I'm back home now, since I only got a couple of hours of sleep last night.  He'll probably be there overnight, and GF is there also helping with mechanical issues.  They've converted a big Baptist church into a community shelter for people who have lost their homes, and set up a generator and AC.  I'll probably go back tomorrow to help some more, as they're working on setting up a kitchen...nobody wants to eat MRE's forever.    They're getting no help from the state at all yet.  Governor didn't bother to declare an emergency until this afternoon!   The National Guard hasn't been activated either.  If it wasn't for Defense personnel, there'd be gawkers and looters. Its ridiculous, like only the cities matter.  Two rural towns literally no longer exist - its like a bulldozer a half-mile wide went through.  I've seen tornado damage before, but this is the worst.  Its just heartbreaking to look at it.
