The actions of ignorant and power hunger guards is almost understandable. The problem is more serious when an "educated(?)"administration backs up such behavior. Glad she has support and a willingness to educate the educators.

Ugh, North Carolina, that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It almost seems like everyone in north carolina is a bigot (obviously thats not true, seeing as her peers were outraged by this, and rightfully so), or at least everyone ive met from there so far has been, even my birth parents, and ill bet everyone here can understand how satisfying it was to break it off over the phone with them, especially because i made them look like ignorant idiots when i did. (Not that they arent ignorant idiots anyway, they just didnt think they were, not surprisingly.) Hopefully she and her classmates can make those school officials look the same way, a good portion of North Carolina needs to learn the lesson that this kind of thing is not ok.

No doubt a law that would establish a right drag queen, any casual CD or trans identifying person regardless of actually presentation is what is needed and the non-trans identifying need to be educated that their concerns are irrational.

Appears the school is moving in the direction of what many have been saying will be the natural outcome. Eliminating women's spaces in favor of gender neutral. Seems to me to be the most logical thing since women's spaces will be a no win situation for them. I guess this will be scored as another victory.

I was traveling through NC from NJ to FL this past week and was worried about issues like this. I just went full time a few weeks ago and fortunately I've been passing 100% of the time (as far as my wife and I can tell). Being 6'7", I worry about being singled out. I will be traveling back this weekend and this makes me nervous.

My wife and I recently spent over a week in Tennessee. We had no problems anywhere, with anyone, including in Nashville honky tonks. I guess that old saying applies;
