Where do you shop?

Hi Emma,

Kohls. It's first and foremost on my list. I'm also a Sam's Club member, and have quite a few clothes from Sam's as well.

Yesterday, I shopped the mall nearby, which has the big-name stores, JC Penney, Sears, Macy's and Nordstroms, as well as the boutique brand stores in large number. I bought a few things at JC Penney, and enjoyed window shopping all the rest of them.

Kohls has it all, and at prices that I can afford.

Love, Megan

All over. American Eagle jeans fit me really well, I can wear the 'slim' there so they fit without needing to be skinny jeans. T shirts I just get cheap wherever.

I don't live in the U.S. so I'm not familiar with the shops that you have.

I adore Oasis. They can be expensive but I always watch out for the sales.

The department stores like Penneys (or Primark) are great as well.

Consignment stores are where I've found some of the best deals. Shopped JC Penny's and the mall yesterday (fun fun), agree with Megan Khols is great.

Hi Emma,

I live in New York State.

I used to go to Burlington Coat Factory in New York City.

They have very good prices.

Lately, I go to Target,

Both stores were very transgender friendly.

I now do all my shopping at Target.

It is closer to my home and I have also gotten to know most of the staff on a first name basis.

They enjoy it when I address them by name, and it makes me feel friendlier with them.

They are always very helpful.whenever I have any questions.

When I first started Coming-Out in 2007-2008, and did not pass well, I was treated so well at Target that I sent a letter of appreciation to the CEO of Target.

I always feel obligated to tell Management about whenever I receive excellent customer service.

I had also sent a letter to Macy's after receiving Superior service in the Cosmetics department.

I even gave the Cosmetics Manager a Certificate of Appreciation that I created, and she displayed it in the store for all to see.

The Cosmetics manager even gave me a couple of free facial makeovers, and she also helped me do some shopping.on her break.

Hugs,

Carla

WomenWithin is my favorite. They are online, but their clothes fit me spot on. Second is JC Pennies. I shop thrift shops as well. Kathy

Target (can be limiting on 2X sizes)

Torrid

Payless (for shoes)

Lane Bryant

Costco sometimes has items that fit

Amazon (for my extra long jeans, "Cruel Girl", they go up to 37" inseam)

nomorerack.com, my new favorite (my mother got me hooked). They have different things all the time, but so cheap and the have plus sizes on occasion.

I am an EBay shopper, you never know when some other largess woman will dump her wardrobe, also Long Elegant Legs for jeans, and Asos an English Co. That carries trendy clothes in reg. And tall, and big sizes.

Generally I look in all shops but I suppose Dorothy Perkins is where I buy most as their jeans fit me very well. I get everyday items like tights and panties from supermarkets. I like to look in other places like Topshop etc and often buy one-offs. TKMaxx is another place I often go as it is round the corner from the supermarked I generally use.

I use the internet for many things but although I look at catalogues on the internet I like to see and feel the clothes before buying so generally use shops

Mostly Kohl's and J.C. Penney. Kohl's has some great sales and nice stuff. For online stores, I like Chadwick's. For shoes, no one beats Zappos.

Lizze - one of my friends is a Torrid manager - she recently posted on FB how her employee training includes Trans and Cross Dresser sensitivity - she said that she wants everyone to feel welcome and comfortable in her store. :-)

I shop at Marshall's, Nordstrom Rack, Macy's, as well as Goodwill. I recently got 2 very nice high quality black skirts and a pair of jeans (that I get all kinds of compliments on) at Goodwill and got change back from my $20. The store I go to is in a very high end of the city and the quality and selection is great.

I get shoes from either Payless or Zappos although I did just take advantage of a sale that Macy's had on line. The shoes were on sale and if you bought 3 pair you got more discount. I was able to get some Nine West peep toe pumps for summer and a pair of Betsy Johnson platforms for a very reasonable price.

Ross Dress for Less. They have nice dresses, and great deals on the clearance rack. Plus their clothes are always really colorful.

Marshall's, Nordstrom Rack, Payless for shoes (they have my size). I like Lane Bryant but they are very expensive.

Also Goodwill and Savers.

One place I don't like is Target. Everything I buy there seems to fall apart quickly.

One of my favorite places for work wear is new York and company. I also like Nordstrom rack. And I'm lucky enough that I can find shoes in my size at dsw. Also I have found some good stuff at old navy.

While kohls is no doubt my favorite, I'm too nervous to go to the checkout.

So it's target, Walmart, and grocery stores that have self-checkouts, although they do have those people monitoring the self-checkouts.

Hi Kendra,

So many stores are gender-sensitive now... The first two places where I shopped by myself were Target and Kohls. I was totally not passing at that point, and a nervous nelly to boot. But, I was treated like a lady at both places... It takes swallowing the nerves a few times, but you'll find nothing like the things you can imagine!

Love, Megan

Thanks Megan. At Kohls I've done the grab and dash thing taking clothes I really wanted, put them under male clothes, and dashed for the mens dressing room.

It's sort-of not about the store staff, mostly it's about running into someone I know.

Well, the salvation army has always been a great place for me. I 'borrowed' some of my sisters old clothes that she was going to donate, and so I can't say that I've ever gone shopping for female clothes as a male shopper. I also like marshal's, since, as they're an outlet store, their prices are at least a little bit lower than what you'd find in brand name stores.

When I do splurge, forever 21 is one of my favorites. In terms of jeans, I generally find American Eagle skinny jeans fit me best, but I hate actually shopping at American Eagle (while I can talk when I need to and still pass okay, I'm not too comfortable with talking to people, especially when it's unexpected. The American Eagle staff are *really* chatty and friendly in my experience, which wasn't such a good thing for me). Plus, I can usually find AE jeans at thrift stores for about $7-8, so I usually just do that.

The last lot I bought myself was mainly from Amazon - there are lots of hidden gems on there. In the past I have mainly shopped at an online-only retailer called ASOS (As Seen On Screen) and some from Debenhams. I haven't tried Dorothy Perkins yet.

One thing I received today, a jacket, was from Marks and Spencer. I think they tend to be targeted for women a little older, probably 35+, but a lot of things on there still suit me. Their pumps have built-in inserts that are designed to shift your weight away from the front of your feet as well, making them more comfortable so I may well shop for shoes there in the future as well.

I doubt very many others will share my taste in fashion but... here goes I suppose...

rosemortem.com has some of the most beautiful hand sewn dresses I've ever seen, a little on the pricey side but they are soooo beautiful.

also I shop a lot at infectiousthreads.com and as I said my tastes in fashion is a little bit different than most I suppose, but those are two of my favorite sites as far as online clothes shopping goes..

locally though there's a couple nice goth shops I like, most notably being a store called Roadkill.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.

Wife of mine pointed out that not getting a haircut for a month looks hideous - weird bald patches.  So back to super- short buzz cut.  This morning I braced, looking in the mirror.  I look like a woman trying to pass as a a guy, maybe  a small-breasted woman with enough T treatment to grow a mustache.    I would not believe me if I read what I write about me.  This is nuts.   White t-shirt: that they sell in the back of WM so you can tie-dye them or otherwise decorate them. They are thick and long lasting and slightly fitted, so that they could be a man's.  I like them.   Jeans, flip flops.   I will no longer point out these are women's.  What else would I wear?

Quite right mate! I have been letting my hair grow out again (I cut it all off when I was 18).    I'll never look this good:    But I'll aspire to look my best! ☺️
