Where to find boots that fit?

I have a shoe and leather boot fetish, but it seems that in a female size 9 (my size) the top part of the boots are either too skinny (anorexic almost) or way too big. I have nice shapely legs that are very toned. I found are really sexy pair the other day but the tops were too big. :hairpull: I guess im luck not to have huge feet but this is frustrating...

Better a 9 than a 12 women's!! I'm just out of the range that most stores carry, since they usually stop at 11. So I have to be content with what I can find when I can find it. I'd trade you my problem for yours in a heartbeat though! :)

But do you find that the tops of them dont fit? Most I find are way too big.

I guess I'm lucky Im shorter.

Where do tall women shop then?

Your picture in your avatar is pretty.

Hi Lexi,

I had terrific luck with DSW shoes. Looking at my everyday wear for work, all have come from DSW, ranging from flats to boots. I have two pairs of boots that are calf-length. One is just right, the other a bit loose. But, that's the style. Most women's calves would be a bit smaller than mine, I think. I've seen girls wearing boots that are tiny by comparison to mine. There must be a small percentage of women who could actually fit into those. But they are cute, if you can do it!

Best of luck!

Love, Megan

Just so you know, the boots I own do not fit tightly against my legs. In fact, they are pretty loose once they get above my ankle. I wouldn't worry too much if they are loose on top, thats been normal for every pair of boots I've owned.

And another head's up - Payless shoes sells women's shoes up to size 13 - though the styles get more limited the higher the shoe size is. They have great sales, especially on the bigger sizes. I got 3 pair for my husband for about $40.

Yeah, someone else said DSW sells bigger sizes in women's shoes. I don't normally shop at DSW, but I can certainly stop in and check if I see one. If you want a tight fitting boot, look for the kind that lace up. There are also some that have straps on them which allow the boots to be tightened around your ankle / calf. Depending on what type of boots you are looking for, you can look into the platform boots that tighten up the ankle - I know I've seen them at Hot Topic. I'm trying to think where else I've seen shoes above a size 10 but I loathe shoe shopping so I'm usually in and out of the store.

I got a dress at hot topic. Luckily I'm a women size 9 so I can go to most womens shoe stores. But I could use a pair of go-go boots!

You can google search - women's shoes/boots, size 12(or whatever) and a bazillion of them will pop up. Not all threads will take you to a shoe your size so you have to be patient.

Hi

I'm an absolute boot fanatic. As I have joked in previous posts: I'm the Imelda Marcos of cross dressing when it comes to shoes and boots. I buy from E-bay and there are so many types available. For a narrow calf look for some lace-ups. I have several wonderful lace-up boots that can be drawn nice and firm against the calf. Ditto for over the (increasingly weak) knee.

I also have a thing for shoes and boots. the higher the heel the better. i think i am lucky as my feet are size 8 and nearly all shoes i have bought have fitted well. I recently bought some thigh boots and they are the first that are a bit tight for my feet but the trade off is they are a good fit up to the thigh.
