Hey Bobbie! If you look to the right of the page and scroll all the way down, you'll see when our next substance abuse meeting is! Hint: August 30th at 9pm.

Hugs!

Hi Jackie

Yes, yes, yes, I wanna' come to that meeting. Great to know Bill's been here, too. My problem is, I don't know how to log into Discord. It's too discordant to me. I guess at some point, I "registered"[?] my email, so now it won't let me set up a new account, but I don't see anywhere to log into an existing account.

I think I mentioned, I'm 76 The buttons I learned to push were dark red on a Royal secretary model that weighed about 100 #, with paper which instantly disappeared under any sort of eraser. My tech education hasn't advanced much beyond that point. So, my sweet Sister, could you guide me through the maze, or am I lost so far in the swamp that I'll vote for .... [bleep, bleep, censored for peace].

Sweetie, I'm 50 but sure, easy enough.

Step #1: Launch the Discord app on your computer. If you don't have the app, download and install it. The web-based version of Discord is... not great...

Step #2: In the left-hand pane, click on the Transpulse channel. It looks like North America backed by the transgender flag.

Step #3: Substance abuse meetings are in the #Meeting-Room. @Charlize and @VickySGV are the moderators.

Hugs!

We are discussing two meetings here.

The Trans Pulse meeting takes place in chat in the meeting room.  Any with a substance abuse problem are welcome to join us there.  Jackie has given good advice above to get to that meeting.  There is more on that meeting on a separate thread.

TGAA takes place on a Zoom platform as well as using a list serve(email chat).  To access that group use this link:

 https://oso-aa.org/mailman/listinfo/tggroup_oso-aa.org

Just fill out your email and the name you wish to use.  Hit the submit button and sit back. At this point you need to ask Ravin to join the Zoom meetings.  You can do that on the list serve.

You must join the list serve prior to joining in at Zoom.  We do that as an added layer of security to protect our members whose anonymity is often very important to them.

Hugs,

Charlize

Last night's Thursday TGAA meeting was wonderful.  It struck me that in the group of 30 trans* folks we had many attending who were finding sobriety in the midst of the covid epidemic.  We had day counts of sobriety ranging from 8 days to 95 days along with those with over 40 years.  For years i heard folks in real time AA meetings saying that AA couldn't work on line.  In fact it does.  For the trans community simply finding a place where others understood my addiction as well as my gender issues is magical.  I have often heard that is is beautiful to see a person grow in sobriety.  Seeing them embrace themselves as well brings additional joy.  I feel the same seeing the beautiful people here at Trans Pulse.

If you have an issue with substance addiction please join us.

Hugs,

Charlize

Yes, Ma'am, it is wonderful. I think the tgAA meeting is one of the best groups I've ever attended. Literally international, "local" members from all over the US, ages from 18 to ... um ... me and maybe a few others, different takes on their Programs. I'm lovin' it, and I'm sitting here dressed for goin' online in company, j ust killin' time waiting for the 3pm PST/6pm where it's already getting dark. See ya' soon, I hope.

Unfortunately i need to post that this wonderful person, Lee H has died.  We who got to know her and saw her lead meetings with wisdom and love miss her deeply.

We miss Lee as we miss all our brothers and sisters who have passed. Lee's no nonsense take on AA was so enlightening and fresh, I miss her.

For me Lee will be looking down upon us and will help us find strength when we are feeling we don't have the strength ourselves.

Hugs

Are you still up and running? Even tho I'm stealth I -toasted- up with AA in my city and told my life story which resulted in people misgendering me which resulted in me starting drinking again. I need somewhere to go.

We are certainly open and active as what is believed to be the oldest face to face trans meeting on the internet, (at first we met on Skype)  Hopefully you can join us.

Understandably the time of meetings can be an issue so i would also recommend going to

aa-intergroup.org

There is a listing of meetings there for the LGBTQ community which covers time zones around the world.

Please keep reaching out despite the rejection you might have experienced.  Despite the 3rd tradition, that assures us that: "the only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking",  we sometimes feel that we don't belong.

I have been fortunate to find almost universal acceptance in the rooms but i especially love the Trans rooms where issues affecting me are understood.

Hugs,

Charlize

I don't think i posted it here but the TGAA group of AA has been holding a Wednesday 10 am (eastern) meeting for some time now.  That makes it possible for some of those, especially in other time zones to join in.  For information on the link to tgaa please see the link above.  We also hope that others who might be attracted to drugs other than alcohol will feel welcome to attend.

Hugs,

Charlize

Well said.    Although this so-called Project 2025 will not affect me directly in an immediate sense, it sends a signal to equivalent minded people and political parties around the world that it is okay to exclude minorities and indeed, to persecute them.   In my humble opinion, the far-right politicians know damn well that there is a very large cohort of less-than-intelligent people out there who are not capable of critical thinking and believe every skerrick of dog-whistling, fearmongering, "they're-out-there-to-get-you" rhetoric. Pander to their rural and village attitudes and you're on a winner!    Correcting them with logic and science won't work; they just double down and get louder with their petulance on full display.

Just waking up so I'm in my pajamas - blue/white madras shorts, a navy blue t-shirt and my sleep bra with sleep-rated breast forms.   Thank you @Susan R for telling us about your mastectomy bra and forms fitting experience before your BA surgery and how sleeping in the bra/forms helped with the dysphoria.    First, hearing about your courage to get fitted gave me the confidence and courage to go out in public.   And, second, finding sleep mastectomy bras and sleep-rated breast forms (I found a set on eBay for a good price) has been a tremendous boost to my feeling comfortable in my pajamas and nightgowns and tamping down my dysphoria and dysmorphia.

Germany has more castles than there are McDonald's in the United States. Yep, you heard that right. Germany is estimated to have 25,000 castles, and there are around 13,000 McDonald's locations in America.   In Washington state, there's a real-life law stating it's illegal to kill bigfoot and other sasquatch-like creatures.

DREAD f you’re anticipating something positive, you’re probably motivated to summon all your patience to wait for it—and sometimes for extended time periods. It may be counter-intuitive, yet in certain instances such waiting can itself be gratifying. Consider Carly Simon’s song “Anticipation,” the old Heinz ketchup ads, and—especially—recent research pointing in the opposite direction as regards awaiting something highly aversive. In this post I won’t be reviewing ketchup commercials, but I will be exploring some intriguing research on dread-infused anticipation.

So an update from me.   Had my endo appointment last night. Went very well and they are sending 3 months supply of estrogen (estradoil patches) and the anti-androgens whilst my Dr gets a shared care agreement sorted out. So happy, should start HRT tomorrow!! Cost for the 3 month supply is £70 total for me, so not too bad. Not told my parents about this yet, but them being in spain, not sure they need to know yet.   Can't wait to start, just got to think about where to put the patches now and wait for the changes...

Good Morning    well it’s Friday for most, pay day for some.  For me it’s pay day but not Friday.  I work the same opening shift tomorrow.  I typically have Friday on Saturday and Monday on Tuesday.     @KymmieL it does sound like your shop has an issue and you are smack in the thick of it.  The new gal or guy often is.  We have an issue with new people not getting fully trained before being turned loose on customers.  Some struggle through it and some quit because of it.  I try to get them working with customers as quickly as I can but I stay right with them observing, helping, even jumping in when things are getting backed up to keep the stress down.  Not everything comes up during training so when things do, even later after trying is done, I try to help and explain.  Our ASM feels that once she has you scanning barcodes and taking money she is done training.  Generally, refuses to train me on things that she does, and questions why I’m doing something that she normally handles when I’ve been told to do it as part of my advancement training.     She and the cashier involved both keep trying to toss the manager under the bus over a hours of work issue and shifts.  I tell her I realize her issues and I’ll work what ever she needs.  Because of that I tend to get a better more consistent schedule.   Well, time to say Happy Trails to you, until we meet again.   Hi ho Silver, away   Willow

That does get you the 'starting point' for cup size, but manufacturers, style, breast shape, etc... will effect the results.    Step one is of course finding the proper band fit, then figuring out the approximate cup size with the calculations. Of course you need to try on a few styles after that in different cup sizes close to your measured result until you get the perfect fit.    I have bras in a DD that fit just like my bras in DDD both from Torrid but different styles.    I have some DDD's that fit awesome and some that are a bit loose, but I measure a 46G. It's not wonder that 80% of women are wearing them wrong bra.
