I saw one comment after the article that said if you take off the weave and 100 pounds of make-up, That is a man. I was just thinking how narrow that is.

my comment would be: " Yes, if she took off the hair and make-up she might look like a man... but that is why she is wearing the hair and make-up. She wants to look like a woman, a pretty woman! " I would have to say there is a large number of women guilty of that.! !

and I am one of them.!

LaVerne Cox and Janet Mock are two of the most fierce (in a good way!) transactivists on the scene today using their fame to educate and evolve mainstream society. Do not discount their efforts. Some of you have heard of The Butterfly Effect. Google it if you are not sure, but basically, what LaVerne and Janet are doing is very much taking mainstream society to the next level. It ... just ... takes ... time.

Was it not the late, great anthropologist, Margaret Mead once said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

We the transgendered, I believe, are reaching critical mass in the mainstream consciousness due to people like LaVerne and Janet. Folks, stand by. Great things are on the horizon. Many of us old-timers may not see them. However, the young amongst you will!
