Coming out to you.

Along the path of green we'd stride,

thoughts and dreams, side by side,

in and out of phase we'd fall,

no secrets kept, or emotions small.

Adrift I washed upon this place,

an island void of stars, my truth,

no one to see of my real face,

away from me, I stole my youth.

Your confidence despite my dread,

a layer for each fraud is shed,

you turn, and ask what must be said,

a tattoo upon my bone is read.

Thank you Jamie. I enjoy your poems. I shared a bit of my story as a guest speaker last night in a room of cis folks. Being open and honest helps to remove that dread one layer at a time. The dread seems to fade.
