Neutral Names

I have a super feminine name. It would pass as a female porn star name. I've always hated it. I hate saying it.

A few weeks ago a starbucks guy mixed up cups and I sat there blissfully sipping on a cup declaring that I was Anthony. I loved it.

I'm neutral though, and I don't even come close to passing as male, nor am I really striving for that at this point. I look like a butch female. (although I was sir'ed a few days ago)

I'd like to start playing around with a neutral name. Not full time by any stretch. Not telling people I know. Just, I dunno, using it as a Starbucks alias. I want it to be easy to write and simple and neutral enough that it doesn't confuse people and doesn't make me turn purple with embarrassment as I try it out.

I'm poking around online, but baby name sites are too modern and I'm kinda old. So, I thought I'd ask y'all, because probably some of you have been through this before. My list is short.

Alex (Alexandra or Alexander)

Lee (easy transition from my real name but I don't really like it)

Kay (I'd probably have to spell it for people)

Other thoughts?

Mickey was my nickname when I was a child. I recently went back to using it as my name with everybody as it is a very gender neutral name. I love it.

Hahaha. Taylor is my child's name (the one who may be transgender). Talk about lucking out...hahah.

FWIW...I like Alex because I've known girls and boys with the name Alex.

The easiest option really is Lee. I wish I liked it more.

Either way, it'll be a really is experience using it for the first time, if I do.

Chris is another neutral name (Christopher, Christian, Christine).

There's also Joe / Jo (Joseph, Josephine).

And (a personal favorite for obvious reasons, LOL) Sid / Cyd / Sydney etc.

Jess, short for Jesse or Jessica. My boss's name is Jesse, and he goes by Jess. However, he is frequently misheard as "Jeff."

Pat (Patrick, Patricia).

Sam (Samuel, Samantha).

I've heard of men named Dee, though that always sounds like a female name to me (Deedee, Deanna, etc.).

I've a boy named Stacy and one named Ashley and those both seemed totally weird to me.

Jamie can go either way.

So can Casey.

I just used an alternative name for my Starbucks cup. Lee is what I went with. It just seemed easiest. She spelled it Le, which suggests it might not be as easy for others. But whatever. It feels like less of a lie, since it's the first syllable of my name.

I like Morgan, but it feels very fake. I dunno.

But, point is, I just used an alternative, androgynous name for myself for the first time. Hmmmmmm.
