Laser Hair Treatments

Hi everyone,

I am wondering how many of you girls have used Laser hair treatments. I was lucky to find out about a guy that does Laser and Electrolysis at a PFLAG meeting that I attended here in Little Rock. This guy wasn't listed in either the phone book or online and had just about given up finding one that had reasonable prices. For Laser he charges $150. for a session treating my face and neck and tomorrow will make my third treatment. The Laser just works on the black hairs and for my grey ones I will have to get electrolysis. The laser sessions are 6 weeks apart and because they are relatively cheap I don't have any problem paying for them. I had seen some insane prices being charged for services that I found online and had figured that it was too pricy for me but it is amazing how things work out sometimes.

Glad you found a good deal. Someday i may join in the fun but for now am content with shaving. My beard is relatively thin and very light in color. it just hasn't been a big issue yet.

Hugs,

I found a professional Medical Health Spa here in Ventura that charges $150/session as well for full face and neck, so it sounds like you're paying exactly what you should be paying for the Laser treatments. I start mine on Monday, YAY!!

Please do share with us if you could, how does it feel? Is it painful? Although I realize there is multiple sessions to kill the follicle completely, did it make any difference after the first session? Were you able to shave less often? Or did the hair grow in less dense at least? I'd be very interested to know!

Thanks,

Monika

Hi Monika,

I feel a little pain but my guy told me that some people are more or less sensitive to the procedure. After my first treatment it took about 16 days until I could use a cloth and brush off the black hairs that were present.. They just come out. It does seem that I have to shave the black hairs less often. It comes in less dense also but that might not occur until some time between the first and the second. The process takes 3-6 treatments generally to kill the follicles. Your milage may vary. Laser works on the black and blond hairs but will not work for the grey hairs. The grey hairs need have to be treated by electrolysis. I had a mix of black and grey hairs but more black hairs on my face that the grey ones. When I shave now it is mostly for the grey hairs. It does slow down the growth after 16 days or so. I got my 3rd treatment on wednesday and that morning in the mirror I did not see but a few black hairs before shaving for my appointment. When I got there my guy told me that he could tell there were black hairs under the surface of my skin. I also had my cleavage (what little there is for now) and around my nipples. I have read online that some Transgender ladies even after 3 years still have trouble hair on those two places and I am getting in a preemptive strike on them.

My black hairs are 99% done after six treatments with the laser. Now I'm getting electrolysis treatments for the grey ones and I probably looking at a year and a half more to go. My guy did mention to me that he has noticed that some transgender females grey beard hairs had changed and gotten darker. He said that it was like their hair had gotten younger because of HRT. This gives me some hope because the Laser treatments are the fastest way to deal with the dark hairs. During one of my electrolysis treatments he mentioned that some of the grey hairs that he was removing had dark roots and he said that the laser would work on those so he did another Laser treatment on my face and neck. I am hopeful that it did some good because the electrolysis is a long drawn out painful process but I'm willing to go through it to have a smooth neck and face. I wish you good luck if you decide to get the treatments. The Laser definitely works for the dark hairs. Don't waste any money on anyone that says they can "Dye" the grey hairs because that is snake oil and does not do anything except put more money in their pockets. Good luck with whatever you decide.
