M2F waist size difference and another question

So I bought pants size 32 inch and it fits me perfectly, I normally wear 29 inches. Can someone explain what's going on? Why the difference? is it because the waist position is higher or something?

Another question is the garment width of a shirt I bought this:

http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOAPP-37160

Can you at least guess the size I should wear from these sizes info?

S: Length 66cm x Garment Width 48cm x Shoulder Width 40cm x Sleeve Length 62cm

This shirt fits me perfectly, and am curious about a difference or something.

Thanks in advance!

Personally after a few initial tries I have generally abandoned trying to convert between my old male and female sizes. I just use womens sizes and ask staff if there is likely to be any variance with styles / manufacturer.

The main thing I have issue with at times is bras but I seldom wear one anyway and with little breast tissue I suspect it would never be easy although there have been some very good references to guides here on Lauras.

Shoes will be another thing! I think they should fit perfectly so I have always been wary of buying online.

Fashion is sort of my jam so, this is my two cents...

Pants/ skirts: if you know your measurements, simply going to the manufacturer's website and looking at the size chart should suffice. Keep in mind that different cuts will increase/decrease fabric in specific areas and one cut may be more flattering than others. This applies equally to men's and women's clothing, and when considered in the context of generalized body structures, transmen are cautioned to avoid bootcut and loose fit jeans because they emphasize hips; conversely, transwomen can use the natural line of bootcut or "curvy cut" pants to create a more curved line from waist to ankle. If a guy is shorter, he should really avoid having a lower break in his pants because this will look like he's wearing someone else's pants (i.e., hem your pants, gentlemen or get the 28 or 26 inseams if under 5'6"). If a woman is taller, having a lower break in pants with some volume around the ankles/feet can create a visual drawn-down but honestly, tall girls rock so, whatever.

Shirts/ dresses: these are very cut-dependent and even cisgender people typically have to try on multiple sizes when exploring a new brand and style. There are two ways to go about it if you have sex-typical shoulders/torso length: 1) try to fake it (for women, this means wearing shirts that create a visual break in the line of the torso via a belt or band or something, as well as covering the upper chest to break up the line of the shoulders; for guys, this means creating a longer line of the torso with untucked shirts, especially vertically-striped or checked ones, and adding the illusion of bulk to the shoulders by wearing a well-fitting jacket or sweater but not vests) or option 2) rock what your mama gave you. Most models have broad shoulders and longer torsos than the stereotypical "average" ciswoman, and they look awfully nice that way. And there are plenty of smaller guys who still manage to be pretty awesome. It's all based on comfort level.

Shoes: anyone who figures this out, please let me know. I think evil gnomes just scribble sizes on them at random before they're put on the shelves. >.< Seriously, I wear anything from a 7-8.5 and that is just ridiculous.

Bottom line: try everything on.

@Vivianmichelle, nah I am talking about waist size, funny thing is I mistakenly bought 32 waist size and before I receive the item (bought online) I feared it'll be wide, but after I tried it, actually it felt like it was made for me, fits perfectly, my male size (normal size I wear) is 29 inches, which made me google charts difference and brought me to this site to figure out why.

Anyway maybe I didn't get direct answer but thanks everyone for replying. I think I'll risk try and buy a female blouse to compare the size. And buying female clothes from stores is impossible, I won't do it when all the jerks stare at me. I think I'll talk more about this in the introduction section in few.

Thanks again.

VisualKei, do you have any supportive females you could take with you? My wonderful wife is always willing to come with me and browse while pretending the items are for her. This takes a lot of stress off me and anyone else who is shopping. I also took a bra with me into the dressing room at Nordstrom Rack and the customer service reps didn't even blink.

Clothes manufactures have been using "Vanity" sizing of clothes for quite some time. Just measure your band size for your bra and buy one that size and you will see what I mean. Pant waist sizes will never reflect your true size. Measure yourself and you will see. This is very "telling" about how our society deals with truth.

Hi Visualkei

They say that a womans torso size is measured above the bellybutton and a mans size is below the bellybutton

This doesnt make much sense to me cuz I dont see many girls wearing pants hiked up above their bellybutton .

Im a 34 -34 in mens size pants and a size 12 to 14 in women's. which still dont help because "whats a 12 or 14 in 32-34 or 36 ????.

I googled sizes and got a bazillion different answers so I just went to GOODWILL with a basic idea on size and picked out some pants to try.

The nice thing about GOODWILL or places like that is a lot of mens clothes are mixed in with women's clothes and no one really notices if you are looking at ladies or mens clothes unless its dresses and even then, if someone seems to be checking me out in ladies dresses I say Im looking for clothes for my girlfriend cuz our apartment had a fire and her clothes got ruined. Seems to work.

Besides, Goodwill wants to sell clothes and dont care what you buy as long as you buy something.

Even if you dont buy anything there you will have a better idea of your size after you try on some and then you dont have to spend so much time in a regular store attracting busybodies attention.

Hate to say this but each company that makes clothes and each country has their own idea of what a size is so its a cr..shoot either way.

Good luck and enjoy wearing that awesome pair of pants or dress that you find that fits.

It was over a year before pant sizes started working for me. Not that sizing changed in any particular way outside of weight influences, but fit certainly did change. Women's pants are the only proper fit for me, my older pants while still sized correctly no longer 'fit' my physique. This is interesting to me and though I have tracked my measurement for years, it's not the easiest thing to quantify.

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.

Other than the Boy Scout motto, oath, and law. I use two:   When asked how I'm doing? In all honesty I reply. I would have to make something up to complain. If asked to explain further: I reply. I know someone is having a tougher time than I am, and I pray God blesses them.   I also recite this quote that I have tagged in my signature: Courage, doesn't always roar. Sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."-Unknown    Saying these things daily keep me motivated.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

If this goes on, I am conceding the real possibility of being stopped in WM or somewhere by a concerned citizen who tells me, "Lady, God made you female.  I don't think you should be trying to look like a man. You need to return to your true gender and be comfortable living your life out as a woman."   Begin odd and awkward conversation.  I have been thinking about this this morning.

There are many MAGA GOP types who are not transphobes, of course. Some MAGA GOP types are transgender.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.
