Well it seems i'm dealing with another setback on my orchiectomy scheduled for 5 days from today. After getting all of the tests and letters completed and into Dr McGinn's office i have hit a snag. My cardiologist has seemingly changed his mind. When i went in for surgical clearance 6 months after my heart attack he said yes i could proceed as long as i continued to take the anticoagulants that have been prescribed. I think he may have felt that Dr. McGinn couldn't do the work in that case. She can and now after a second visit he has decided i have to wait for a year to pass so the end of march is my date at this point.

I'm hoping he calls me back as i do want to point out that when i had stitches this summer because of an accident on the farm the procedure was done under local anesthetic and there were more stitches and almost more surgery than the small incision that will make my life so much better.

I am already looking for a new doctor. He has been difficult since i mentioned my gender issues. I just hope i can find a better cardiologist who has any understanding of our issues in our area. I had stopped looking but i'm back on the search again.

If you hadn't guessed i am upset. This too will pass but right now i could spit nails.

Fortunately i've got a GLBT AA meeting tonight and those poor men will get another earful of a trans person wanting a part of her past removed.

Hugs,

Charlize

I do find some question in his professionalism, and his knowledge of Trans* stress issues. We are talking a heavy STRESS issue in your life by not having the surgery. I agree it may be time to see a more enlightened colleague of his in his field. Hang in there hun, I know how long it takes to get a 90 day chip!! <seemingly forever> (Oh, I am the new Chip person at one of my meetings for the next 6 months,)

Charlize I am so sorry. I know how it feels, having to wait some more. I hope you can find a more understanding Dr soon. I see mine next Wednesday and I'll ask him about the progress then.

Hi Charlize,

I am sorry to read about your setback.

Have you ashed Dr. McGinn about a Trans* Friendly Cardiologist?

I feel she would be your best Ally in this case.

Enjoy your GLBT AA Meeting tonight

Hugs,

I completely understand how you feel, Charlize. It does seem like an overly cautious approach. Good luck with your search.

HUGGS, Girl. :friends:

I hope you find a much better understanding Cardiologist soon, Charlize.

However, the end of March is not that far off. Unless it's a stalling tactic.

I agree, this cardiologist is being too conservative. An Orchiectomy can be done with a spinal anesthesia which is low risk compared to General Anesthesia. A spinal would place much less stress on.your heart than even local anesthesia. I would query a cardiologist about a spinal tap Chalize. Kathy

Hugs Charlize. Sorry you are having this frustration- I know you'll get it straightened out. I think I prefer the transphobic people who are in your face haters to the ones who are obstructive instead. Sometimes I think they teach it in medical school going by my own experiences anyway and I suspect this is the same thing.

I know you'll get here and hope there won't be any more of these roadblocks.

Hugs

I just got off of the phone canceling my surgery. I must admit to being frustrated and the end of March seems a long way away. Yet again 3 days before the procedure it has been snatched away. Parts of me want to climb back into bed, curl up in a ball and cry.

I have to look at some good things however.

The weather is moderating and it looks like the next few weeks may be days of freezing nights and warm days. I have only to plumb in the sap extractor on the vacuum system and set up a pump and i'll be tapping and boiling sap. That would be hard walking bowlegged.

The goats will kid towards the beginning of March so i asked to be rescheduled for the end of the month. Hopefully i'll be around to assist in those births if the does need help.

Now i've got to call the young man who was going to take me to the hospital and cancel.

I'm trying to concentrate on the positive but tears sit right behind my eyes. Better not stub my toe.

Hugs,

Charlize

Life sure does suck sometimes Charlize

Hang in their girl Time always drags when you are waiting for something to ease the pain of dysphoria. What some doctors don't get is for TS people, MTF testosterone actually causes us pain. I was supplemented for about 10 years with testosterone and the higher the dose became, the more miserable I felt. With the T removed from my body, I'm amazed at how much calmer it made me feel.

I pray that saner physicians get it that for us T make us miserable. And removing the source is a great positive improvement to our lives. Kathy

Unfortunately blockers have not done their job as well as i'd like. My cardiologist looked at the level and said it was higher than his.

The orchid will solve that but it is taking well over a year to go from getting the requirements to sitting here for 3 more months. I am looking forward to sleep tonight. I've been busy and tried to help some others here and elsewhere today. I need to get my mind away from my disappointment and anger. (maybe that is from the T)

Hugs,

Charlize

No one that hasn’t gone through the self perceived shame and guilt about the feelings we’ve had cannot understand 1. Why we need a therapist we trust. 2.  Why we suddenly need to talk to them. 3. Why things set us off and throw us into a bout of extreme depression.  4. Why we feel threatened even when we aren’t in immediate danger.  That threat may be only in our mind but it’s our need for reassurance.

Be careful about software bundled with your antivirus! Most likely they are using it to spy on you. As far as I know the only 2 VPN providers that actually protect your data (and delete it as soon as possible if they keep anything at all) are Proton VPN and Mulvad VPN - the latter one actually had their servers stormed by law enforcement and they walked away with nothing (cause Mulvad had no customer data to offer). I would avoid antiviruses altogether tbh, they're not a magic cure for internet safety and the built in one from Microsoft does its job well enough. If you're not on WIndows you don't even need one - just be smart about what you download of course.   Your web browser asking you to turn it off is probably because the browser would prefer to know your real location, just ignore it or pick a better browser, like Firefox.

It was stupid of me, the cop was in front of me in a u-turn cut in a spot I know about. I was running a little late because of the slow truck, and the cop happened to be there today. It is like one of only three places for a speed trap on my commute. I usually don’t speed as I try to leave enough of a time buffer in the morning.

The worst possible scenario is 4 points on my license, which a defensive driving course will negate it. I had considered getting a lawyer, but it is probably not worth the expense.
    • Ivy
Yeah, I was puzzling on that too…

Good luck maam 😊 I’ve experienced that they’ll lower the points , if you show up in court and pay the ticket.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums Mealaini,   Like you I knew in my preteen years that I was meant to be a girl, but didn't have any way to bring it up in the early 1960s. It was the expanding news outlets on the telly that allowed me to understand that I may not be the only person who felt this way. Wow was my mind expanded once the internet became a reasonable research tool in the 1990s.   My grown daughter (42) is nonbinary and atheist with pagan leanings. So when I came out to her she was thrilled and wanted to dress me up and show me the world. Well I think she wanted to show me to the world. My son (45) is evangelical christian and very upset with his sister for many reasons. However he's a reluctant supporter of me as transgender. I'm out to my wife and we've been married for 48 years this June, so I'm in a very late in life transition.   The other thing that has me going down an internet rabbit hole is your location. It clearly states United Kingdom with a sub flag of Illinois. I've searched the web and can't seem to locate Illinois, UK. Am I missing something?    Best wishes,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Thank you for sharing, @Mealaini, and welcome.    I appreciate your description of IFS and your book recommendation. I have a few close friends who are very enthusiastic about IFS and my therapist is incorporating some of those elements into my therapy.    -Timi

Leg hair.  Shaving it was a surprisingly big decision.  (Not as big as the beard tho)  After I did it a few times, it's never really grown back.  Haven't shaved them in a couple of years and you'd never know it.  A daughter living with me doesn't shave hers, and she is much furrier than I ever was.     I don't exactly hate my living as a guy in the past.  TBH, I was never quite there anyway.  But I just dropped it.  I live full time fem, and it would bother me a lot to go back to being a guy.  But I don't have to appease family or an employer.

@Loreleiit always sucks getting a ticket for passing a slower vehicle. I'm guessing the police officer was some distance behind you until you performed your passing maneuver. My most costly ticket was from a similar situation, however we were heading out of town and the last straight stretch of road to pass the two slower vehicles ahead of me was still in a 35mph zone. I didn't see the officer behind me and as soon as I pulled out to pass he turned on his lights and siren. Since I was in the process of passing, I figured the next safe place to pull over was at the upcoming roadside park. He didn't accept that and wrote me up for passing two gaps, speed in excess of 15mph over, and failure to stop. He did not care to hear about any fellowship in public safety, and no professional curiosities would be honored.  I did go to court plead my case and the judge, and he did see my point of continuing to pass with the intentions of pulling over safely at the roadside park. He was very familiar with the location. This allowed him to drop the failure to stop charges, but I did have to pay the full 15mph over speeding ticket. So my lesson learned was to never pass when entering or leaving a small town or village.   Hugs, and good luck in court.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
