My first poem here

This is the first poem I wrote after I finally seen the truth about myself. I have always loved writing but fought with an extremely nasty case of writers block, until now that is. The words and verses are flowing like river. Not sure what to call this one, just hope everyone likes it.

We have traveled this road together you and I

You stood in my shadow watching the sights go by

Trapped in silence, silently weeping

At every misstep at every wrong turn

You tried to warn me, tried to help me

Yet your pleas fell upon deaf ears

Years have passed yet still I roam

A restless wanderer not sure how to find home

Unsure if I am forging ahead or running away

Too many years on this path yet you are still with me

So tired and worn, I slip and stumble

Looking up I finally see you

Let me lead you say, I know the way

I reach up and take your hand

And at once I know she was always there, watching waiting

The one for whom I searched far and near and for so long

As I read it I saw myself every step of the way.

You have a rare talent and I hope that you can keep it going.

I know the BLOCKS. I get them too but when I pull myself together and start again things really flow.
