I was thinking of getting bottom surgery done by him but I'd like to hear some feedback to see how some of you other women experienced with him/the overall results?

He was the surgeon for a dear friend of mine who is herself an MD. I know she has a great deal of experience but don't know much about his techniques. Hopefully you will have someone get back to you with direct experience.

Hugs,

Charlize

that's the clinic where I will go too, I have to send documents to them and after that I guess I will go in the waiting line. I will give feedback on the forum here once it's done.

I'm conflicted between Brassard and Bowers. Obviously Brassard is much, much closer; but I haven't heard anything from any patients whereas Bowers I have. I think Brassard costs about 20K and Bowers about 26K. I also think Brassard can do augments as well, but don't hold me to that.

I'd certainly do your research, Rainbow. Sometimes paying more doesn't necessarily mean you're getting better service and quality.

There are (or were) several Brassard patients here at LP. I do not recall anything but positive remarks from the ones that I remember.

Everything I've heard about Dr Brassard has been very good and several people I've asked at the local pride centre that went to him were very happy with their results.

I have currently put in all my paperwork (for health care coverage) and am just waiting while they review everything. I expect to hear back in the next few weeks, then we'll set a date. So I hope to see Dr Brassard in the next 6 months and I'll let you know how everything goes.

Dr Brassards clinic also does, FFS, vocal, trachea shave, breast aug and other more usual cosmetic plastic surgeries.

Unless Brassard has changed, their price includes the costs of your stay the few days before surgery, hospital and stay after the hospital and they will even get you to/from the airport.

With Bowers you have the extra costs associated for a room prior to going into the hospital and when you get out.

I know many who went to Brassard and heard no complaints. I went to his partner Menard at the time who is now retired. That was back in the 90s. I don't know how long Brassard had been doing surgeries, but it has to be over 20 years now.

Another plus, Brassard doesn't require genital electro and a few years ago he actually had a statement saying if you wanted to that you could, but it should be completed a year prior to surgery to give opportunity for regrowth.

The reason being that he can scrape the follicles to remove them if one didn't have genital electrolysis, but if one does have electro and a follicle hasn't been destroyed but is only damaged it is possible to miss it and it could become active later.

Menard used the same technique for addressing hair down there.

I know, what a sad thing to not have to undergo genital electrolysis. Personally I don't have any regrets missing that bit of electrolysis.

I know quite a few people that have gone to Dr Brassard and they are happy with the results, i went to Dr Mcginn in Pa and i am happy with my results, she recommended electrolysis but it was not mandatory, i did 8 months of electrolysis and that was fine, she also scrapes the follicles.

Brassard hasn't changed. I was told in my welcome packet that they include everything in the price of surgery from when you leave the airport until you're back there again. Also, I'm very happy I don't have to have genital electrolysis beforehand.

Brassard and Bowers use VERY SIMILAR techniques although they definitely have it done their own way. I have over 20 people I know from another source that have gone to him and his colleague Belanger and are as happy as they could be. Brassard uses a single single surgery technique where labia majora and labia minora are done in a single operation. The vaginal construction is both penile inversion with a graft of scrotal tissue to give added depth. The urethral mucosa tissue is used in the clitoral hood and labia minora (like Bowers does) and you get a nice moist area that is sensitive, but you will still need some assistive lubrication for dilation and penetration by a partner. Brassard's "recovery residence" is the high point for some of his patients that I know, and the neighborhood around it is quite beautiful from the pictures I have seen.

I am still a very happy Bowers babe though.

I was thinking of travelling for Bowers, but hearing about Brassard might persuade me to cut my travel time in half (to drive to Bowers is literally 18 hours whereas Brassard is 9). Maybe Solique and I can have a meet n greet while I'm there too! haha

Hi RainbowGoth98,

I went to Brassard in 2012 summer, time files and its already 3 years! I stayed for 10 days including days in hospital. I heard staying period is a bit shorter now but I am not sure.

I would recommend him and the recovery residence is great, also his location is a few hours drive from my home so its good for me. I went back follow-up for a couple times in first year just for check-up and everything goes well after my operation.

Hope this helps!

Erikka :)

Went with my friend for her gcs in Montreal, Brassard was impressive, from my point of view, my friend was and still is very happy with her results.

@Birdie @Adrianna Danielle    @Willow    Big news today. We're moving to WA. My wife is taking a job and I am most likely losing mine, so it's adventure time. I'm supposed to be a risk-seeker (Aries, ENTP, etc.) but this is hitting every klaxon and alarm in my brain, but it's going to make my wife and kids happy and it will be a place to make new friends as me without the 45 years of binary baggage. There are tech jobs all over Seattle, which we'll be near, and it's a decent State for trans rights (I don't know how it compares to MN, which is a refuge state). So wish us luck! This could be the best thing ever or rocky as hell, who knows!

I know the feeling. I had to replace the dishwasher, fridge, stove. The only other issues that could pop up is the washer and dryer and the microwave oh I forgot the toaster.

That's the hard part of online relationships, they really never get to see the whole you. You either have to create a persona that will carry the day until they get to see you for who you are, or be open and take the risk because it's really easy for them to disconnect because there is little to no bond.   You have to share pictures of your puppy! I am not a dog person, but I can appreciate them in jpg format! My kiddos would love to have a pet, but we're all allergic in some shape or form and my wife and I are like, "no." :D

I'm sorry Birdie! I wished you could move to a non-stressful place.

I love shopping for cars with my imaginary budget lol. A mustang is always fun to drive! Every time I felt down or depressed I drove it and it made me happy!

Well things have actually been really good lately. I got a dog last Friday. I forgot how expensive they are but they are worth it. Now if I can just get him potty trained that would be awesome! He only has one particular spot inside that he likes so I try to watch him carefully. He is part German Shepheard and part Lab. He is very low maintenance. The sad part is that he didn't know what to do with a treat nor did he knew how to play fetch instead my youngest was playing fetch. He is kind of getting used to toys somewhat. I'm no longer expecting a relationship because I tell them what is wrong with me because I don't want them to be surprised about anything and they always ghost me. Oh well.

Even with the court ruling, the problem is that many of the insurance companies continue to have exclusions for everything unrelated to a vaginoplasty. For folks who are transgender females, we still get no protections to ensure we can get electrolysis (other than for genital preparation prior to vaginoplasty), voice/speech therapy or surgery, facial feminization procedures, or body contouring. There are many components that go along with managing our dysphoria. When the government mandates all of these measures, then I will say it was a victory.   I am still worried that all of the progress will be eradicated if the election goes poorly in November.
