Wig brands?

hey everyone,

I was wandering if anyone knew the better quality wigs to buy. The reason being that my new job I have very short hair, and was going to wear a wig until either I go full time, get another position, or job.

I would not worry so much about the brand, but rather to find one that looks good on you. The Breast Form Store that sponsors this site has three some that are very decent and will wear well.http://www.thebreastformstore.com/transgender-wigs.aspx. I have wigs by John Renau, and Louis Ferre that I love. My suggestion though is to go to an actual wig store and try on some wigs for an idea of style. Your price range for the better ones in synthetic wigs are going to be $80 to $150. Do not buy a cheap human hair wig though.

I have dealt with these two companies who are on line and one for me is close enough to drive to. http://www.acewigs.com/ or http://www.wilshirewigs.com/

I have had luck with the Breast Form Store and also Beauty Trends. They carry Revlon and other brands.

Curious about what people wear and recommend. Human hair? Synthetic? Human hair kind of freaks me out a little bit, and then I see that they require washing... do synthetic wigs require washing? Pretty ignorant here. How often does one need to wash a human hair wig? Every day? And special tools are required? I'm really mad at male pattern baldness right now. ;)

I ended up at a Trans store and bought a Estetica wig, model PEACE, color R32F. It's a fairly dark brown and I fell in love with the style, color and feel. The filaments are heavier than the $50 wig I have and lays more naturally. It cost $160 in the shop, but was $130 on amazon.

We may get other wigs for fun, but this style is me.

Here's a pic of the wig I found on the net (no, that's not me. LOL):

Charlotte -- My gallery has me modeling several wigs in it. I have wonderful success with synthetic wigs in the $80 - $175 range. Synthetic wigs require washing after about 40 hours of wear, but it is just putting shampoo on them, rinsing them out completely and letting them dry thoroughly before you brush them out and restyle them, which they will do almost by themselves. Human hair wigs get washed at about the same frequency as your natural hair. (My hair is colored and I only wash it about once a week to keep the color stable). For my wigs, I use a hair brush that is only for the wigs, but it is the same kind as I use on my hair which is the tipped, wide spread, nylon bristles. On synthetic wigs you DO NOT use any heat implement on them or you can make a real mess. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions. I have over 15 wigs, including a couple I show in my gallery here just for fun. (A pink one and a purple one!!) http://forum.lauras-playground.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&user=14243 I can wear my own hair now, and do on most days, but the wigs are my hair too, I bought and paid for them.

I was strongly instructed to never use a brush with 'bristles' made from anything except metal. While brushing them, plastic on plastic causes too much friction thus heat damage. At least that's what I was told.

Backwards there, metal is harder than plastic and can wear the plastic as much or more. The fibers they use now-a-days are pretty rugged. My two wig experts (one a designer and the other a manufacturer's representative from Revlon.) had no preference on the synthetic wigs as far as combs go, but both used nylon brushes like I described. For human hair wigs, the stainless steel bristles were slightly better because the hair in the wigs is no longer getting natural lubrication and the steel does help move wig conditioner around a bit on the hair fibers, but again, no hard and fast rule. My wigs have held together very well with what I have.

Hmmmmmm...... I guess it depends who you ask. After your response I did some net searching and some suggest standard brushes while others say steel only :) . I tried to check out the website for the company that manufactures my wig, but it's down for remodeling.....

*HUGS*

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.

Other than the Boy Scout motto, oath, and law. I use two:   When asked how I'm doing? In all honesty I reply. I would have to make something up to complain. If asked to explain further: I reply. I know someone is having a tougher time than I am, and I pray God blesses them.   I also recite this quote that I have tagged in my signature: Courage, doesn't always roar. Sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."-Unknown    Saying these things daily keep me motivated.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

If this goes on, I am conceding the real possibility of being stopped in WM or somewhere by a concerned citizen who tells me, "Lady, God made you female.  I don't think you should be trying to look like a man. You need to return to your true gender and be comfortable living your life out as a woman."   Begin odd and awkward conversation.  I have been thinking about this this morning.

There are many MAGA GOP types who are not transphobes, of course. Some MAGA GOP types are transgender.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck
