Stressing the stress test

Tomorrow i'll be on the treadmill (literally). i've been there before. Starts off slow and then it speeds up. They raise the platform until you are running up hill.

It sounds so easy but with a heart condition it can be difficult. My new GLBT "friendly" doctor wants me to do at least 10 minutes without any symptoms before he will clear me for surgery.

It does stress me. I've been waiting for a simple orchiectomy for close to 2 years. My heart has made for some setbacks. Perhaps this road will be easy and i'll just rise above the treadmill like Rocky on the steps of the Philly Art Museum. Now Charlize don't stress to start!

Hugs,

Charlize

Oh, I so hope that works out for you. Like you said yourself, don't stress out, just do it.

One thing that helps me is to focus on little bits, like ok, 10% done, made a good start, then, 25%, half way to half way, etc. Just to keep mind mind off the biggie.

Eat right tonite, get a good nights sleep, and breathe!

Hugs Charlize!

Maybe some mind over body visualization will help? Can't hurt. Just picture yourself breezing through the test with no problems. It can be amazing what visualization can do sometimes.

I'll be thinking of you and sending lots of positive thoughts your way

Thanks all of you for pulling for me. !0 minutes can be a long time and it was but i think i did OK. I got to the target heart rate of 130 after just 10 minutes.

They did an echo before and after as well as electrocardiograms. I must admit i am exhausted. When i was racing bikes this would have been nothing but due to the way i abused my body and the toll it has taken on my heart i was just glad to make it into the 4th level of speed and incline. I'm due to see the doctor on the 27th of this month and hopefully i may finally get the clearance i need for surgery.

Two things about the process that i will mention both here and to my doctor. The staff and nurses were lovely they were all women and i felt at home. I had my breasts exposed for the dollar and also to attach all kinds of wires. My girls aren't huge but they are certainly visible as is my name and one assumes my gender on their charts. I thought i heard the wrong pronouns twice. If they plan to have a GLBTQ practice they had better work on that. I'm comfortable in myself in those situations but many are not.

Love you all. Now for a nap. I deserve it.

Hugs,

Charlize

I got a call from the nurse today and it appears that i may have failed the test. My heart was not getting the blood flow it needed even though i got through the required time and had a high enough heart rate. The doctor was out of town and will call me Monday. it appears that i might have to go back into the hospital for another procedure. How those procedures can be less difficult than a simple orchiectomy on local anesthetic is beyond me.

I must admit that i cried and am disappointed. The nurse said i shouldn't exercise too much on the farm and i'm not quite sure how i'll manage that. i'm a good girl though and will slow down a bit. Until the call i had been feeling great thinking that having done the test i was cleared to go a bit harder.

Well it is a good life and i'm here enjoying it. Had a great AA meeting tonight with a great topic of how fear and love (faith) are related. Thank you all for helping me to deal with my fear and for the love you have given me that provided help.

Hugs,

Charlize

Charlize, I'm so sorry to hear that it may not be going the way you hoped- ofttimes medical logic makes no sense to me, it does seem like it should be simple. Here's hoping Monday brings better news.

Our AA topic tonite was gratitude, and i am glad you are still finding gratitude where you can

Well it seems that i'll be in the hospital next week. They haven't scheduled the procedure yet nor do they know what will be entailed. The one thing i know is that i'll be waiting at least another 6 months to have an orchiectomy. My heart is showing an area of lack of blood flow that could lead to another heart attack. They may do stents but open heart was discussed as well. I mentioned to my doctor that at least this time i wouldn't be detoxing in the recovery room. Having DTs and audio and visual hallucinations made that time into a true hell.

I've got to get some work dome on the farm before i go. At this point i can work even if slowly. Afterwards there will be many weight restrictions etc. I'm tired and a bit depressed. I am so fortunate simply to be alive and living a life i had only dreamed of.

These things are as they should be and i need to find peace in acceptance. It is a bit hard at times so i also have to forgive myself for the tears of self pity i feel. They are mixed with tears for the beauty of the world.

Thanks for you support and love.

Hugs,

Charlize

This has been a bit of a rough week for me as i wait for some communication from my cardiologist. Maybe i'll have to put an orchiectomy away for a long time. The cath. showed a 50% blockage in an artery known as the widow maker. There was nothing they could do about it with stents or angioplasty. Perhaps i'm a candidate for a second open heart surgery and bypass. I don't know and maybe that's the worst thing. Open heart was rough the first time. I can accept that. If they can't do anything i'll have to accept that as well. I realize with my history my life span will not be very long.

I would certainly like to know and am waiting for a call as i slowly get work done on the farm.

Thank you all for being here. It helps me get out of myself and the self pity into which could easily consume my day.

Hugs,

Charlize

Sounds like time for a new Body Technician hopefully one that is actually a Doctor Of Medicine, this one you describe is short of that mark.

I've been seeing my new treating doctor for quite some time now, whenever I'm advised to make an appointment. When it comes to seeing a new treating doctor, hard part is starting all over again building trust between patient and doctor. On my first day seeing my new treating doctor, before I could say anything else to her, she explained to me I needed to be completely honest with her. I kind of expected that type of patient profiling response from her, since she doesn't specialize in intersex care. Anyway, I sat down in the chair as I explained to my new doctor, I don't have all of my hospital records, certain records from my childhood and teenager years are mysteriously missing regarding a surgery. After my examination was over, she disregarded or showed no interest in searching for my missing medical records, but instead she blamed me for how I take care of my health today.

Had a customer bring in her Subie for struts. I ordered fronts. later yesterday, the boss called me into the shop. the proceeds to say I ordered the wrong ones, the fronts instead of rears. Then today I got looking I did order the right ones the first time. All the paper work that I have says front even the last work order said fronts. I told the other boss. So, Have I gotten a sorry from the boss. Ha, ha, not yet. I am doubting I will ever get one.   Oh, well. life goes on.   Kymmie

While I agree with a lot of the campaign personally, I don't think a government-mandated reduction in childbirth is really necessary. As a young person, I hardly know anyone who wants to be a parent in the future. I think a lot of people will either be waiting a while or not having kids at all, meaning that the number of kids being born will probably decrease. Overcrowding's also mostly an urban issue -- plenty of places in rural America have plenty of space for both people and growing food.    Of course, everyone sees things differently, so I won't necessarily say you're wrong. I just think my generation is a lot less inclined to the family mindset than some that came before us.

To me, it sounds like a solution searching for a problem.  I believe in the Russian perspective, that oil is abiotic and likely under every part of the Earth's surface.  There's plenty.  "Peak oil" and "climate" are excuses for government control.   As for roads, we use asphalt because tar and bitumen are a byproduct of fuel production, not the other way around.  Asphalt is not a great material, really.  It can also be recycled somewhat and used again.  Notice how road crews grind down existing asphalt into powder? Concrete is a better material for roads.  But in areas like where I live, very little of our roads are paved.  Gravel is a luxury, and a lot of roads are mud.  Same in many "developing" nations.  Pavement is better for transport, but its not like we would die without it.  Lack of pavement might actually be a good thing, as people might stay home more and food might be grown locally instead of relying on transportation.  It would stop this wacky idea of growing everything in California.     I believe the big crisis we face is globalism and government control.  Proposing some scheme to control our families? That's just more of the same.  Even if folks managed to get enough votes (or rig enough elections) to get the power to do that, it won't be as VP or president of the USA in its current 50-state form.

Very cool. I've been clumsily navigating the world of makeup so this may help. Some of the tutorials on YouTube are so advanced, they may as well be speaking Klingon :P

I've realized that our laptops are using much less plastic than they used to.  They are smaller devices that use less raw materials and are easier to ship and hold up better in shipping than bigger computers with removable parts.  They seem to have gotten rid of the overheating/fan problem for the most part, but there is a performance hit for that.  I use a 10yo desktop computer with a moderate level gaming video card to run 3 monitors.  I'm a producer though and most consumers have no need for that.   I really haven't watched TV since the 80's.  I spend some time researching on the internet and then I spend a lot of time meditating on the objects in my environment and on the streets.  From living on the streets for a year, I've learned that people can say anything and can control you, but the laws of physics and mathematics are outside of that and really even transcend time itself.  After people would not support my music, I built my life as a software engineer based on mathematics and engineering.  I've had a moderately successful career with that and have written code for many different industries.   The problem with stopping oil usage is that if we still need the bitumen to pave our roads and shingle our houses, then what do we do with the gas when we refine it?  There are natural deposits of bitumen, but you know, with so many people out there, demand is huge and we are using this stuff up.  If you grow corn for corn syrup, then what do you do with the cobs?  We've shipped coffee and bananas all over the world.  We took material from those environments.  What do we do now?  How long can it last?

I think that threats that can be proven should be incarcerated for half the sentence of the one they would commit if carried out.  Lies unfortunately are just words unless as you stated if not under oath.
    • Ivy
I think it depends on where and how it's happening. We also need safe places where, the perhaps more easily intimidated, can feel free to express themselves.     And what about threats of violence?  Can this lead to a place where only the violent can have this freedom?  Is it "free speech" to threaten and intimidate opposing views into silence?  I mean maybe, if I can say anything - "if you don't shut up I'll kill you."   Or spreading lies?  (perhaps about an election). Lying is okay, unless you're under oath - for what that's worth.   Censoring books in schools?  That was fine until the bible was included.  (there is some nasty stuff in there) Then, there's what used to be that free speech birdie place.  You can denigrate queer people all you want, but "cis" is a slur, and prohibited?  Free speech as long as I like it? And let's not go into court cases and gag orders. Porn?
