:D Greetings And Salutations One And All

I would just like to take a few mins here to introduce myself if I may, My Name is Samantha-Lee also known by most who frequent the chatroom as the newest moderator Devil's Daughter. A down to earth and fun loving girl from Perth in Western Australia.

I think that the best way to introduce myself is via the profile that I have on another website:

Samantha-Lee is anything but your average every day run of the mill girl, brought up through the school of hard knocks Samantha has literally had to fight for survival many times over the years and has faced some of the toughest challenges to face any human being alive. A caring and gentle soul, Samantha is known for her down to earth attitude and never fails to continually surprise those around her with her spontaneity and love of life. Originally hailing from Sydney on the east coast of Australia, this 37 year old woman came to Perth 8 years ago to begin a new life after many years of living on the streets, mixed up with hard criminals and a life of illicit substances. Samantha has been clean from the drugs now for more than 8 years and continues to remain strong even in the face of adversity. Samantha-Lee stands at an above average height of 182cm tall with brown eyes and long black curly hair. She is rather slim with a well-developed athletic body. Weighing in at only 75kg (155 pounds) it becomes easy to see why she seems to turn heads wherever she goes. Having grown up as a pagan/wiccan/empath, Samantha is known for her love of people and her ability to heal peoples pain and it is fair to say that wherever she goes she wins peoples hearts and influences people. A good looking woman, Samantha has finally been lucky in love and now calls Lisa the love of her life. A woman with a plethora of love to give, any man or woman would be proud to stand at her arm and shout to the world that this is their woman.

Well, I hope that this helps you feel as if you know me a little better.

Warmest Regards

Samantha-Lee

Hi there jacci,

Its a pleasure to meet you sweetheart, Hmmm Darwin I love. I spent two years up there way back in 1992-1993 and loved every second of it. I need to get back up that way at some point in the future although I must say my gf would not like the heat too much up there lol.

Anyways, hope to chat sometime soon.

warmest regards

Well hello Samantha-Lee,

It's good to have a new face here in the forums.

I see that you work in the chat rooms - bless you!

It's a little slower paced here on this side of the playground.

Come on in and sit here by the fire and let me get you some hot cocoa and cookies.

We like to make everybody comfy.

I have been to Australia before but I was on a cruise and we came over from New Zealand zo I started in Melborne and ended up at the Great Barrier Reef - wrong coast to have seen Perth, but I plan to get back one day and see the other coast and the outback!

Being from the US I feel that I should appologize for the bit of the old skylab falling in your area a while back - ooops!

Glad to have you with us.

Love ya,

Sally

Hi there Sally,

firstly I would like to thank you for making room by the fire for me, hmmm with the cold nights starting to settle in over this way in front of a good warm fire is always a great place to be. Cocoa yes please, but I might pass on the cookies (Im trying to keep my figure).

Thank you for the warm welcome, its always nice when someone makes the effort to be friendly, I try as much as I can esp over in the chatroom.

where abouts did you visit the Great Barrier Reef? Did you get as high as Cairns or Townsville?? Wow you sure visited the right side of the country first lol. I originally come from thha side and so know the coast intimately. Ive been round australia almost 3 times now but finally settled in Perth.

You'll love this coast and the outback if you get a chance to visit again, most ppl I know who come to visit never want to leave (lol) and your always welcome to look me up if you get down here.

I really do look forward to getting to know you and other here in the forums.

Caio for now

I actually stayed in Cairns (where I had to deal with a rather unpleasant spider in my bed - glad I check the sheets before I get in!) when I left the ship and stayed a few days to snorkel over the reef from the Quicksilver platform so that left from Port Douglas.

I rode the tramway over the rainforest where I saw a reticulated python and a really large spider in a web between two trees.

I loved my time there and coming back was difficult, I miss traveling but I had a little financial setback - marriage and divorce, but I intend to travel again - next visit as a Sheila!

Love ya,

Sally

Heya again Sally

Hmmm Cairns is a wonderful little spot, I lived and worked there for some time, but a spider in your bed (shudders) eww that would have been horrible, needless to say I am absolutely terrified of spiders. Horrible ugly scary little (big) things they are.

Did you mean the Karanda Railway when you mentioned the tram? it certainly is an incredible ride and one I would recommend to almost everyone (Aussies included) or was it the skyway?

Retic python hmmm now thats a treat indeed, I love snakes, once upon a time, many many years ago I used to catch snakes on the central coast of NSW and I guess that considering we have 7 of the worlds 10 deadliest snakes we sure are the lucky country (rofl)

I hope that you do get a chance to get back down this way as there is soooo much to see and do, but I totally understand that particular finacial problem well, divorce does make things hard for everyone but hey.......

Anyways I better get my act together as the monster will be home from school any minute, but hope to keep chatting with you sometime soon.

Hugs

Sammi-Lee

I was on the skyway!

I know about the snake thing - we have 3 of the top 5 deadliest in the world right here in Texas and 4 of the top 10 in my area alone and Texas is a huge and varied terrain state.

I'll leave you to your tasks,

Sally

Great to have another Aussie. My dad flew in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was assigned to a flying Aussie unit and flew the Burma Hump,,,the pass in the Himalayas between Burma and China...and for ever he was talking about moving the family to Brisbane...but Mom wouldn't leave the county of her birth yet alone move to the better side of the world....Mia Oh! So welcome and enjoy the cookies and cocoa..

Welcome, Samantha-Lee.

I just usually float around the forums. Since starting grad school, I can't think fast enough for chat. Maybe once I'm finished with grad school.

Hope you enjoy the leisure of the forum.

@Adrianna DanielleSeeing two different therapist for separate issues really helped me deal with the each of them on different levels. I hope this works for you too.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I seem to remember the word "deplorables" being used not long ago.  Unfortunately so often appropriate.   Hugs,   Charlize

It was not that long ago that black people were banned from the University of Mississippi.  Schools were segregated and the same excuse of protecting the women (or girls) of old miss.  Times and many feeling have changed with time and federal intervention.  Unfortunately politicians love to separate and divide to gain power.     Hugs,   Charlize

I agree @Birdieto just "fit in", is what drove us to therapy. I'm not fitting in just to please someone with a closed mind. At least you know who your fair weather friends are now.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Yesterday in the lobby some of the residents were talking with me. One asked, "how come in all the TV commercials at the centre you don't appear in any of them?"   I explained that, "I'm an embarrassment to the centre and they don't know what to do with me." I get edited out!   Quite the differing options with the ladies at the table as some of them said, "that's discrimination", while others said, "they can see why."   Another lady said, "you would fair better if you cut your hair and went back to overalls, you should strive to fit in!"   Their opinions are as meaningful to me as rubbish. I did 45 years of trying to "fit in", and not doing that again. 😉

Gosh, missed Monday again.   Did you know that Producer Keith Oslen was distraught because the duo his recorded Buckingham-Nicks first album went nowhere? In walked Mick Fleetwood also distraught because once again Flleetwood Mac lost a guitarist in Bob Welsh and he was at least going studio shopping and came to Sound City in LA because he'd heard the drum sound they got there was incredible. He asked Oslen to play something recorded there. Olsen played some of Buckingham-Nicks and Fleetwood loved the sound of the guitarist and wanted Buckingham. Olsen said he comes with Nicks because Olsen managed both. Fleetwood didn't want Nicks but eventually the remaining Mac members said okay and next thing you know - the Fleetwood Mac that scored a huge following was born. Sadly right after the "Fleetwood Mac" album and before "rumours" was recorded, the band got huge headed and got rid of Oslen so they didn't have to play him a lot of music they wanted to keep. Olsen did ok after by recording Ozzy Osbourne, the Grateful Dead, Whitesnake, Pat Benatar, Heart, Santana, Saga, Foreigner, Scorpions, Journey, The Babys, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joe Walsh, 38 Special, and Eric Burdon & the Animals, among others. BTW - Olsen was also a members in 1967 of a band called Music Machine (not the James Taylor one) that scored a huge hit with the song "Talk Talk"

Still on contentment high from Sunday.
    • Heather Shay
CONTENTMENT The relentless pursuit of happiness often overshadows the more subtle yet profound emotional state of contentment. While happiness may be a fleeting high, contentment is the gentle hum of satisfaction that resonates through the soul, offering a sustainable path to life satisfaction. Oscar Wilde's poignant observation encapsulates this truth: "True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have."
