Hello! So.. I just found this site today and have been looking around for a few hours when I decided I should make an account and the email said I should introduce myself so here I am.

So.. I'm Amelia. I'm 19 years old and am currently going to Devry for a degree in Game and Simulation Programming (GSP).

At first I wasn't sure if the way I felt was right or if I was too young but a few months ago I saw an article about a girl named Kim in Germany who start her ... Journey? at 12 and I was really inspired by it.

This is actually the first time I've ever told anyone.

I think my parents would be okay with it. Since I've never had a boyfriend or girlfriend my mom thought I might be gay and has told me numerous times that it was okay if I was. I would hope that still holds true to this situation as well.

All of my friends seem pretty excepting of people. I'd like to talk to my best friend Chris about this if I can get up enough nerve when he comes back from basic training.

Umm... I guess a little about what I like now... Hmm...I like playing computer games and... watching anime. I also Tabletop Role Playing Game with a group of my friends (Female characters of course :D )

So.. I guess that's all I have to say for now. Thanks all for listening!

Hello Amelia!

Welcome to the Playground!

How about some nice hot chocolate and some cookies while we talk....OK?

The fire feels good, don't it?..I sure like it....and I think you'll like it here with us..it's a place where you can be yourself and no one will be mean and you'll be safe because we keep it that way!

So...going to learn simulation game making?....Good...

Because I LOVE Microsoft Flight Simulator and there won't be any more out so I need you to get after that...OK?

Well...enjoy yourself and just wait a bit and some of the others will be here to say "HI".

Thanks for joining!

Welcome to LAURA's

Yeaaaaaaaaa

You have just found a great place to be. Two of my good friends have already said hello and a big bunch of others should be here soooooon.

Lotta people JUST like you here - and a lot about your age, and they can help you discover more about yourself. You DO need to tell your parents, Be careful in telling too many others at first until you see what is going on, gender dysphoria is complicated.

So WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME

Hi Amelia, welcome to the forums.

19 is not too young, definitely, though it's still a good thing to transition early and 19 is pretty early in North America (Thailand kathoey transition younger, but are literally culturally encouraged to do it).

My parents also thought I might be gay. Until I came out actually. I came out 4 years ago. I transitioned 3 years ago.

I also like anime, computer, console and tabletop games.

I'm playing a tabletop with a friend and his housemate and some of his other friends.

I'm playing this petite girl healer-type character who has much of my child persona's traits. And a very cute pony (I joked to my friend's housemate that my pony was prettier than his horse, we rolled dices, and it turns out my pony IS prettier :P) to boot. She is only 4'6" and 65 lbs. 16 years old but appears 9 (and ages 1 year per 25 years). It's not D&D, I'm not sure of the game name.

That sounds fun, The game I play is called "Exalted".

I play a fairly creepy looking (blood red hair with jagged teeth) "necrosurgeon" (Like necromancers but more scientific) named Riina, I even resurrected myself a daughter <3

Even tho she's a necrosurgeon I try to be nice to people. Being mean gets you in trouble excessively fast in exalted.

@Adrianna DanielleSeeing two different therapist for separate issues really helped me deal with the each of them on different levels. I hope this works for you too.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I seem to remember the word "deplorables" being used not long ago.  Unfortunately so often appropriate.   Hugs,   Charlize

It was not that long ago that black people were banned from the University of Mississippi.  Schools were segregated and the same excuse of protecting the women (or girls) of old miss.  Times and many feeling have changed with time and federal intervention.  Unfortunately politicians love to separate and divide to gain power.     Hugs,   Charlize

I agree @Birdieto just "fit in", is what drove us to therapy. I'm not fitting in just to please someone with a closed mind. At least you know who your fair weather friends are now.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Yesterday in the lobby some of the residents were talking with me. One asked, "how come in all the TV commercials at the centre you don't appear in any of them?"   I explained that, "I'm an embarrassment to the centre and they don't know what to do with me." I get edited out!   Quite the differing options with the ladies at the table as some of them said, "that's discrimination", while others said, "they can see why."   Another lady said, "you would fair better if you cut your hair and went back to overalls, you should strive to fit in!"   Their opinions are as meaningful to me as rubbish. I did 45 years of trying to "fit in", and not doing that again. 😉

Gosh, missed Monday again.   Did you know that Producer Keith Oslen was distraught because the duo his recorded Buckingham-Nicks first album went nowhere? In walked Mick Fleetwood also distraught because once again Flleetwood Mac lost a guitarist in Bob Welsh and he was at least going studio shopping and came to Sound City in LA because he'd heard the drum sound they got there was incredible. He asked Oslen to play something recorded there. Olsen played some of Buckingham-Nicks and Fleetwood loved the sound of the guitarist and wanted Buckingham. Olsen said he comes with Nicks because Olsen managed both. Fleetwood didn't want Nicks but eventually the remaining Mac members said okay and next thing you know - the Fleetwood Mac that scored a huge following was born. Sadly right after the "Fleetwood Mac" album and before "rumours" was recorded, the band got huge headed and got rid of Oslen so they didn't have to play him a lot of music they wanted to keep. Olsen did ok after by recording Ozzy Osbourne, the Grateful Dead, Whitesnake, Pat Benatar, Heart, Santana, Saga, Foreigner, Scorpions, Journey, The Babys, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joe Walsh, 38 Special, and Eric Burdon & the Animals, among others. BTW - Olsen was also a members in 1967 of a band called Music Machine (not the James Taylor one) that scored a huge hit with the song "Talk Talk"

Still on contentment high from Sunday.
    • Heather Shay
CONTENTMENT The relentless pursuit of happiness often overshadows the more subtle yet profound emotional state of contentment. While happiness may be a fleeting high, contentment is the gentle hum of satisfaction that resonates through the soul, offering a sustainable path to life satisfaction. Oscar Wilde's poignant observation encapsulates this truth: "True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have."
