So I'm at 3 weeks on hormones ( well this past Saturday I was). I'm not going to say I feel like much is happening. I will say that I am more sure about myself then ever and can't wait to see who I always thought I should. I will say I notice my leg hair growing back maybe a touch slower and my skin maybe a hair softer. I'm looking forward to the changes to come and am looking forward to just being me truely me!!

The first year of HRT is the most exciting part of transition. Looking forward to hearing more about your progress.

I also heard that sometimes changes are rather gradual, but it's a life changing process! Soon you will really start to see the difference! When you observe yourself on a daily basis, the changes are less noticeable. Enjoy your transition, and all the best!

Take care,

Mila

Thank you all!! I will say I wake up everyday hoping to feel chest soreness or have a hair more of a butt lol. No such luck yet. All good things are worth the wait. I will be getting my blood drawn again mid December to check my levels and will be getting a dosage increase in early January so hopefully with that I'll see more of a effect. Thank you all

❤️ Nicole

I remember my first month so well. It really wasn't that long ago since I am a touch over 4 months now. Seems like during the first month you look for changes every day. It is truly a magical feeling! Sit back smile and enjoy, every day it gets better!

Hugs

The outward physical changes of HRT do take their time. (but they're so much fun to look for :-). For me the psychological changes were much more rapid. My depression and dysphoria lifted very quickly. Enjoy the ride!

Hi Nicole,

I remember how exciting it was in the early days of HRT, and how anxious I was to change. Physical changes do take time, but they do happen. I have changed a lot.

I have been on HRT for one year, and four months so far. I have been living as myself, ie. full time real life test, for about a year now as well. I gotta say the mental changes are at least as great as anything physical. Just a heads up, so you are aware, when I remember stuff from my past life it seems very much like a different person was the protagonist. I am much happier, and normal feeling now though.

I am very happy with my transition, and I hope your's goes as well as mine. :)

hugs,

Stephanie

I hate to be that girl, but don't judge your transition by how you look to yourself. I know it's only your happiness that matters, but we are our worst critics. I'm told that others would not have known I was trans had I not told them, and I hardly ever see it. The changes are so gradual that you hardly see them. As said a lot here, YMMV. Now is about the time for you to make sure the voice is 200% perfect, start some laser hair removal if applicable, and just explore your feelings. I'm so dang proud of you <3

The changes are really slow to be honest. The way you'll realise the changes are happening are:-

Clothes fitting better.

Skin feeling softer.

Breast soreness.

Bras fitting better.

Start to 'pass' more.

Parts of your body wobble more.

Reduction of body hair.

Reduction in libido.

I'm nearly 30 months into HRT (5 months post op) and I'm still experiencing changes. Remember though - YMMV.

Hi Mae Be, whenever it comes to makeup, there are so many different bands to choose from. Picking out the right makeup comes with trial and error, until you find one that works for you and blends well with your skin tone, some makeup products can leave the skin feeling oily. It's a good idea to look at the labels on the makeup product to know what the creators put in the makeup, just in case skin allergies. Once you found the makeup brand, you can add it to your shopping list, good luck

To be fair I’m pretty lost when it comes to makeup technique. I’ve watched videos, but I have no idea what works for or would help my features. So I just bungle along, hoping I don’t look terrible.

There's many words to describe the same idea -- excellent, good, amazing, incredible, great, and other synonyms, for example. It's a shame that some people can't realize that the reason that so many words exist is that it's the human experience; There's a million ways to feel the same exact thing, or to express it. That includes gender. Not everyone wants to express their gender the same way, trans or no. If we try to say in order to be trans, you have to do a, b, and c, you deny all those "flavors" and "hues" that make up the human experience.   That's just my five cents, though

I also play guitar, not very well though and dabble in writing poems and songs. It is a very peaceful way to relax.        💗 Cynthia

I think the first thing may be to realize we have shared interests and shared opposition.  I read an article not long ago by someone who decided to non-op and non-hrt and her transgender friends basically decided she was a traitor and not really trans and had no right to speak on trans issues.  She said many trans people say you aren't really trans unless you do the whole surgical route and legal, etc.  Some insist on the gender binary, others insist on a spectrum.  There must be an agreement to disagree.  Not all of us here have the same viewpoint or the same experience or the same condition.  But we can identify common interests, like walking into a public restroom without fear of arrest, or the right to medical care.    The divisions are severe, heart-felt, and real, but from a practical point of view we need to lay some of those aside when we can for the common interest.  Some of those we cannot lay aside because of personal integrity, but we can work across the aisle, so to speak, something sadly lacking in the public arena today.
