Nice Visit to Shoeshop

Hi all

Nice morning this morning with an occurrance that made me feel happy

I went to an adjacent shoeshop to where I did the weekly shop as I knew it was closing down and likely to have bargains.

The shop (Brantano for those who are familiar) stocks shoes for men and women. Womens sizes going up to 10 (UK - ie good for me ). On looking at those that were still there (shop almost closed to very little choice) there where no womens styles which worked for me so knowing I needed a pair of mens for work (my current black ones have a hole and I do still present as male at work) I went over to the mens section. I found a pair which, after trying on were good, and at £7.80 reduced from £28.00 were a bargain. Not top quality (the Clarks ones had gone weeks earlier at lower discount) but good so I went to the till to pay.

Very amusing afterward but confusing at the time - the assistant asked me if anyone had tried them on as there could be no refund or exchange (due to circumstances etc). She was fairly insistant on this and I said they had been tried and were Ok, but it was only afterward that I fully realised that I was in female mode and being a Sunday was wearing a more feminine knitted dress and tights and these were mens shoes.

It made me very happy to realise that she was fully acceptant that I was a woman. I was not going to miss the chance of a bargain on an item I needed just to avoid the possiblility of outing myself.
