I have been seeing this on just about EVERY Trans* site that I follow for the last umpteen hours since it first hit the web. The speech is powerful and to the point. (OK, so I am biased) and the difference in tone from that of the other side is impressive in that it makes them sound like pouty little brats trying to explain why a cookie jar got broken.

She is a wonderful speaker with an equally wonderful message. I am so glad to see this reaction from the Obama administration.

It might be the E kicking in but tears of happiness came up after reading and hearing so much hate and misunderstanding from NC and other jurisdictions around the country.

Hugs,

Charlize

Yay! "E"

I will never go back to the "T" (No offense Johnny, and Bulldog). I have never felt better, and I have been more apt to show emotion that I've suppressed in the past, and for me personally I love it!

Peace and Love to you all...including all the guys here

Wow! Hi Everyone,

I just now saw this for the first time. All the speeches, statements, interviews and such that I have heard from the rightwingnuts are so utterly unlike the compassionate leadership demonstrated in this speech. As I heard it, I wanted to leap for joy! I try to keep a level head about all this stuff and not let it get me down. But deep down, I think we've all felt pressure from all the hate talk we've been hearing lately as they try to religate us to 2nd class citizens, or even non-entities. Unlike all that, this speech was uplifting and hopeful! By the time it was done, there were tears in my eyes?! I think this was just the speech we really needed. Thank you Attorney General Lynch and President Obama!?

Lots of love,

Timber Wolf?

The right wing media is now screaming severe overreach and that she is trying to drag the civil rights of the sixties into the mix.

Well, severe overreach is certainly how heard Dr. Alveda King (niece of Dr. Martin and daughter of Dr. King's brother) describe Ms. Lynch's speech. Of course, Dr. A. King is a Christian Minister, but I don't hold that against her anymore than I held her uncle's ministerial status against him.

In terms of the venue, I heard Dr. A. King speak on the Fox Business Network, but I also found links to her thoughts about the bathroom issues (including that of the Target Boycott) on other websites. Of course, as one might expect some of them were Christian Websites, Christian African-American Websites, and an MSN-feed carrying a video (on the Target Boycott) originally done with on the Fox Business Network. I try not to let the venue of an interview disturb me too much. It's the person and/or the message that counts, not where one hears it. [Not that I'm comparing A. King to her Savior...but, I understand the Son of Man dined & hung-out in venues considered unsavory by the PC folks of his time, too.]

I do respect Alveda King a great deal, so I thought I'd mention her.

Via con dios compadres.

That's right it is just exactly like the sixties and they want to try and discuss all this as some kind of non Jim Crow law I don't think so

I just saw this speech for the first time and it is amazing. It so clearly communicates Ms Lynch's compassion for those suffering from injustice, and her firm resolve to end this injustice. My first thought as I watched was "can I vote for her for President?"

Thank you for letting us know, hon. I have replaced the link with one that works. That is one speech that we should always keep on our site, and in our hearts. I watched it again, and it still brings tears to my eyes.

Thanks Carolyn. Sure they feel overreach, she shot their pet Crow! Now we need to hunt and expose the hate parrots. Let the feathers fly!

I agree our previous AG had heart.

On the other hand she has been replaced by almost the exact polar opposite.

I had that going on with my last two partners who were 20 years older than me.  One of them looked older for her age as well.  I remember a couple times being in the grocery store a decade ago and having people ask "can I help you ladies with something?" and then I'd turn around with my red beard.  Well before I started transitioning, but my partner knew I was trans back then.   I struggle with this as well.  My music and political career can have a masculine edge to it that I don't like.  It's been really frustrating lately.  I don't like pushing myself on others or telling people what to do.  I've been running a website for 25 years and have virtually never tried to promote it or even look at any analytics.  I don't want to push it on anyone.  I put what I have on it and make it publicly available.  It's part of my production process.  It keeps me sane and if someone else can find it useful, then I'm happy to share.

I'm curious, but then if I am true to myself, I have a hard time being in crowds.  I love hearing great music, but being in an audience is such a turnoff for me that I don't go to concerts or bars.  I'm just very much a producer.  I actually like doing the dishes more than going to concerts because it's an active thing.

My therapist is trying a new tact. I've named my self protection self that ssays not eating or too much exercise because when I starting because oftrauma my protective self started and also at the time the name Shay came to me and is now part of my name.  It's not like having a split personality, just my primative self protection who is always there to help me. My therapist has Shay, me and him working as a team to assure her that I am safe and to start changing her role in my life so I protect me by eating right and exercising to maintain a heathy body. It is helping a little but we just started this a few weeks ago.

Good morning, everyone!!   Yesterday was lawn mower battery day. I've been nursing the battery on my Zero Turn mower for two weeks. It gave up the ghost when I stopped to refuel yesterday so I had to run over to the local shop to get a new one. And forgot my wallet so I had to drive home and back again.   Then, I was using the garden tractor with the bagger to pick up the clippings. I cut about 7 acres so it took me awhile. When I was done, I went to refuel it and, of course, it wouldn't start when I'd finished putting in the gas. I'm hoping it was just some corrosion on the cables - cleaned them up, gave it a quick charge and it started right up. We'll see if it will hold a charge now or turn out like the Zero Turn.   House cleaning day today. And then I'm going to just relax outside for a bit and enjoy one more warm day before our temps drop and rain comes in for the weekend.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!
