Painful lessons from a pastor’s viral transgender post

Yes, this is from a Baptist Pastor who made a post a week ago about 7 things he had learned about Transgender people. In the original post he had stated that he did not know, or did not know that he knew a Trans* person. So many Trans* people reached out to him because of his openness that this is his follow-up to it, and it contains a vital message for other churches that I really hope is shared far and wide. I am on Kleenex #3 from reading it. YES!!

That is indeed a beautiful statement from a pastor. I certainly had come to believe that i was unloveable by anyone including god in my life. The rooms of AA were where i found a way to love and be loved and at the same time be honest about who i am. I certainly do believe that god loves us regardless of who we are and i'm so happy to read of a pastors statement of the same. Openness and honesty can help.

Hugs,

Charlize

This was a good response by the pastor, but how many will hear, and heed his word? I'm afraid not many.

Wow!

In 2010, I believe it was, I had been attending a particular church for about 15 years. My kids grew up under the doctrines if the church. I had recently come out to my wife and I was unsure what I was doing. So, to keep from embarrassing my wife and children, in a preemptive move I quit going to church. Decided I could not deal with being confronted and/or asked to leave if I went public with my gender identity. I was certainly doing things that people were questioning.

Sadly, I don't even know what the church's stance would be. I just assumed

I too have wrestled with 'God's take' on this in my life. I'd lie to say otherwise. I love what this man has to say and the open heart with which he is addressing the issue. Yes, we are each in the very image of God. It is through that image we need to view each other. In an imperfect world, I believe we do well to find a little bit of perfection in each other through love.

Peace this day,

Jennifer

Thanks for sharing! I only wish more would realize just how judgmental they really are. On a personal level I never realized it until I left and joined the Military. I am talking about all judgements, not just against us.

Yes, it's all about love, especially God Who is Love, Who became one of us so that He could know and love us better than He already did. Being Christian really means being like Him.

Love, :)
